THREE LEGGED with RED METAL ROUND SEAT A find ... morefrom an old Dairy Barn. Guaranteed old 3 legged metal milk stool. It was originally RED on the top, you can still see the original color through the corrosion and rust. In all its natural glory. This awesome authentic dairy barn milking stool makes a great decor piece or photography studio or theater production prop. Sits fine and is still usable and stable. Measures 12" high. Seat is round, 9" circumference. Smaller circle with 1-1/2" star cut out is 4" around in circumference. Finish is rusty with some corrosion. Hardware appears all original. Top of seat is not completely level and straight, it has conformed a little from years of use and has slight bends present on seat, see all photos. Appears to be an all original. Un-retouched and un-restored milking stool. Photographs are to be considered part of the item's description. The"Condition" of an item is often a matter of personal opinion. It appears to be numbered, or dated and signed, I am not sure(see picture) It is in very good condition with normal wear. The size is approx. 10 3/4" high, and the seat is 8 1/2" in diameter. Thanks for looking! Up for sale is a Original Handmade. Wood Milking Stool. We acquired from an Old North Carolina Farmhouse Estate. Own a piece of Early Americana Farm History! It is perfect for displaying in a Primitive Country Style Farmhouse Home. This old. Well used stool weighs 7 lbs. and measures 13" Tall x 16" wide at it's widest point of the legs x 13" in depth. The seat measures 14 3/4" wide x 13" deep. The seat is constructed out of pine and the frame and legs are a hardwood that we can't determine what type of wood it is. The stool is still sturdy but one of the legs is shorter than the others causing it to wobble, you can trim off the bottom of the legs if you want to level it back up. It has the original green paint that is reminiscent of the 1950's and 60's green paint underneath a coat ... moreof antique white paint. We didn't clean the stool at all because we didn't want to change the original condition that we found it in. It would need a good and careful cleaning(if you want to) As it is a little dirty from all the years it was used and from being in the barn. A nice antique wood slab 3-leg stool. The seat roughly 10" in diameter by 11"tall and a 1 1/2" rough cut sawn slab. Stands about 11 inches tall. Legs look to be hand shaved. Nice overall with some wear, no apparent damage, legs have a slight wiggle. Top has a minor split but is very solid. Look at pics and ask questions. I am totally not sure on the age of this. It is a family piece that I have had for years and I am at the point that I can't remember WHY I had to have all this stuff. SO. This is a really neat little milking stool. Winds up and down in the manner of a piano stool. Kind of feels like straw under the fabric. Measures 12 inches across. Twirls up probably 8 inches safely. But you can see in the close-up photo the"worm holes" in the wood. This was common back in the day as materials were scarce and nothing was wasted. While some would consider these marks as blemishes. Antique RUSTIC WOODEN BARN MILKING STOOL Leather Top, Folk Art, Farm Foot Rest
I bought this old stool at a farm sale in upstate NY in 1985 and have been using it since as a foot rest. crocheted a cover since the leather was worn even back then! It is round with a diameter of 14-1/4" 13-1/2" tall. Made of hardwood. The underside was never planed, just 2 very thick pieces of wood nailed together and cut to shape. You can see 1 flat head nail lifting. The top appears to be about 1" thick solid wood, with a thinner piece of about 1/2" to create a rim for the top. The 4 legs are rounded and graduated with the bottom worn or maybe shaved at an angle to prevent it from wobbling. The legs have scuff marks. Some gouges, discoloration and a few spots of paint. All add to its antique charm. The leather top has a curved diamond. Hunter green center with brown outside and hunter green edges. You can see the ... moretiny heads of the nails used to secure the leather. The leather has torn at some of the seams and you can see the antique batting underneath. Still very study& solid wood. Could be a great foot rest or child's stool/bench. This piece has true character with age appropriate wear. Perfect decor or folk art piece. In the old days folks would fill the cavity up with hot coals and put their feet up on it on a cold winters night. Stool is 12" tall. And 14" diameter. The Top has a beautiful filigree design engraved in it. Stool is still in remarkable condition; there is one slight dent in it which you can see in the photograph, its not very noticeable. This is an old milking stool I think? It is very stout- thick wood- top measures about 14" square and it is about 11 1/2" tall- it is handmade so one corner is about 14 1/4- the curved legs measure 10" around through the middle- larger towards top and smaller towards bottom- there is a gap- see photo where the top is slightly off in one corner and it looks hand carved as well- this is a conversation piece for sure- it may have been painted earlier- looks like worn paint chips here and there- please see photos. I know it came from an old farm estate. It may just be a foot stool but this is one true beauty. The stories this old bench could tell. Hand made from what I believe was one board cut into three pieces. Measures 24 inches in length. 11 inches in width and 12 inches in height. Study pictures closely, built for work and is still functional. After all these years it deserves decor status or used as a stand for crocks or other special antiques. Set of three primitive Milking Stool that were acquired from a retiring dealer. He has had them for year and were purchased in Europe.as he remembers outside of London. These are the real deal. I will gladly entertain selling them locally and also separately if they don't all three sell. They are solid and show signs of wear but are not cracking. they are sturdy and you can still sit on them. These milking stools are all made with tongue and groove. The wood appears to be oak but could easily be another hard wood indigenous to the region they were made.
