Neat Older Primative Style Oak Piano Organ Vanity Bench Stool Seat From England
This auction is for an older Solid Oak Bench or Stool from England. I do not know if this was home made or shop made. It's quite unusual but it is well made and very studry. I thought at first, it may have been an end stable at one time in it's life, but I am not sure. It has a real Arts& Craft era look to it, but it also has a primative look to it also. It could be used as an Piano or Organ Bench. It has pretty tapered legs and stretcher on the legs and a"wavy cut" to the apron under the seat on all four sides. It's been around for quite a while and has years& years of good service still in it. It is 18 1/2" wide. 14" deep and it's about 20 1/2" tall overall. Antique Victorian Velvet Upholstered Cast Iron Vanity Bench Foot Stool Ottoman
This is an antique cast iron bench with dark forest green velvet upholstery. It has been reupholstered at some point and the fabric is in very good condition. Looks clean, does not have any tears or holes, the tacks that attach the fabric to the wooden seat are all intact and in good condition, and the trim is tightly woven with little to no obvious wear. The seat is heavy solid wood that seems sturdy. There are some age-related cracks in it that don't seem to weaken the seat at all. The cast iron legs are firmly attached with screws, and they are in very good condition with some minor scuffing and wear to the gold finish. Nothing is broken or missing. The bench seems a little high to be used as an ottoman. But I've seen others list it as one and that's what the antique dealer who found this thought it was. I think it would be ... morebetter suited as a bench, but might be used as an ottoman for a taller person. It measures 24" L x 11 1/2" W x 17" H.
