I believe that the seat had fabric covering it at one time as there are small holes all over it. Possibly from staples? This fine piece would look great as a plant stand or even as a stool. It has mounting holes in the cast iron base for mounting it permenantly to a floor or just leave it attched to the existing piece of wood. The stool may be disassembled for shipment. The height is not adjustable. Get creative! Approximate Measurements The stool measures 19 1/2" tall and 21" tall including the base board. It has an approximate 6 1/2" diameter base. Please bid based on the photos and not the description as I could quite possibly have labeled it wrongly. This is a wooden bench that is 4.5 inches wide approximately 12.5 inches long and approximately 10 inches high. It looks to be in the same style as many other Quimper Breton Brittany antique doll furniture pieces. It is ornately hand carved and has a gorgeous carved image of a pirate ship. I'm not sure what the material is of the pirate ship carving.possibly bone? I just don't know. There is one crack in the wood on the right end of the seat. I have the spindles that are missing, they were inside the bench. I wish I could say more, but I'd rather let the pictures do the talking. I listed the auction this way because it is what I believe it to be based on other pieces that I've found via the internet. If anyone has any enlightening information, I'd be happy to include it. Here is an antique foot stool with a needlepoint top. I don't know anything about it. So I'm hoping the photos will answer most of your questions. I love the fancy legs. There is probably a name for that style. There are some scratches and dings which some Old English will help. There are areas where the thread has worn away on the needlepoint.must have been comfortable for your feet in that position. These areas have been colored the dark burgandy. The needlepoint top measures 16 inches in length by 12 inches in width. The stool stands 11 inches tall. If you don't like the show of"age" you could restore it to it's original beauty, although I like it just the way it is. Tracking will be included in the s/h fees. Primitive antique foot stool wooden bench 2 layers of vintage textile cover
Cutest little footstool! All wood with chippy paint and a cloth-covered top with two layers of textiles that appear to be original. The seat pad is detached. See the pictures for the best description of the fabric- its a dusty rose color with a woven floral pattern, feels like a cotton texture and there are no rips but it shows its age. There is another layer of fabric underneath this covering but I did not remove the top cover to investigate. Both textiles are held in place with small tacks and are intact enough to clean up or add your own layer of history- perhaps a needlepoint. No weird/bad smell. Dimensions are 14" long by 10" wide by 7" tall at the frame plus about 3/4" for the pad. The joints and nails are in good condition but I would not plan to use this as a step stool(unless by a child) I did not find any splits ... moreor cracks in the wood frame and all of the nail heads look alike(a little rusty) so no signs of modern repairs. Just an adorable little ole thing! Very charming and functional; picture this holding your stack of books next to a favorite reading chair. Great primitive decorator piece! All hand painted, the style is similar to toleware painted metal pieces. The fruit and leaves are delicate with lots of details rather than the broad bold strokes most commonly seen on PA Dutch items. Purchased at an estate sale. It measures 15 inches long. 7 1/2 inches wide, and 6 1/2 inches tall. This step stool has mortise and tenon joints and very few nails. The sides of the step stool have a scalloped design. The wood is stained a medium brown. This step stool was made by my grandfather probably for my mother who was born in 1906 in Montana. So this step stool is well over 100 years old. He carved his last name(Miller) on the underside of the stool. The wood has some cracks, but this step stool is usable. This step stool would be welcomed by a collector of American antiques. Sorry. Up for bid is an old homemade wooden stool. Taken out of an old barn. This is being offered as found- does not set completely level. A couple legs are a bit loose(one has long ago stuffing around the top) and there is dirt. A few surface cracks, and much wear. This stool is about 12" long. 9 1/4" wide and stands 11" tall. Top board is about 1 1/2" thick. Weighs 4 1/2 pounds. Unique it that it is constructed with a couple bolts going through each end of the main board(old looking bolts) Has a grey colored paint type finish(fading and worn) Unsure of age or who constructed this stool. Very old. Three-legged stool. Maybe a shoeshine stool or a milking stool? Very heavy wood, with many nails. I'm sure there's a carpenter's term for this but I don't know it. the legs fit right into the seat, as seen in photos of the top side. I have shown photos of all sides of the stool. Antique RUSTIC WOODEN BARN MILKING STOOL Leather Top, Folk Art, Farm Foot Rest
I bought this old stool at a farm sale in upstate NY in 1985 and have been using it since as a foot rest. crocheted a cover since the leather was worn even back then! It is round with a diameter of 14-1/4" 13-1/2" tall. Made of hardwood. The underside was never planed, just 2 very thick pieces of wood nailed together and cut to shape. You can see 1 flat head nail lifting. The top appears to be about 1" thick solid wood, with a thinner piece of about 1/2" to create a rim for the top. The 4 legs are rounded and graduated with the bottom worn or maybe shaved at an angle to prevent it from wobbling. The legs have scuff marks. Some gouges, discoloration and a few spots of paint. All add to its antique charm. The leather top has a curved diamond. Hunter green center with brown outside and hunter green edges. You can see the ... moretiny heads of the nails used to secure the leather. The leather has torn at some of the seams and you can see the antique batting underneath. Still very study& solid wood. Old Antique Metal Chippy Paint Mechanic Machine Shop Wooden Stool Plant Stand
This is a fabulous old mechanic shop machinist metal work stool with a wooden seat in the original blue and red paint. This work stool stands 18.5” tall and is 13.5” in diameter at the top. With legs that are angled so that it widens to 17.5” in diameter at the bottom. The seat is thick 1” wood, and the legs are metal with a ring around the bottom, done in old blue paint. The seat has old red paint designed in a circle, with the inside of the area still the natural wood color, there is a bit of age-related staining as I show. There are two legs where the rubber‘stops’ are cracking a bit as shown, and it has some paint scuffs and scratches to the wood and the metal as well. This is an older, heavy and well-constructed mechanic’s stool with perfect patina from years of use.
