This is too Cool for words! Not only is this a swivel style stool. But the legs have the most amazing detail on them! The bottom part is a cast iron bronze base with a face sitting on a clear ball. The clear ball part seems to be a heavy duty plastic, but looks like its glass. The underneath of the seat is mounted on black cast iron as well. This guy has the best looking legs if seen in a long time. This is why we buy Vintage! You won't see anything like this today. Although I've seen a few other piano stool similar to this. I've yet to see one with this kind of feet. I've seen the"claw' foot before, but I've not seen one with a"face" foot. That makes this one of kind even more of a unique and rare find. Early, antique/ vintage, industrial style, machinist/ drafting stool in ready to add to your industrial style decor. This great stool is in very good, sturdy, structurally sound ready to use condition. This has come out of my own personal collection of vintage industrial style decor. When originally purchased I had every intention of refinishing this to its original natural wood finish, but with time I learned to love and appreciate the beauty of its as found condition with years of paint drips, scuffs, scrapes and old aged patina. So rather than refinishing I gave it a good cleaning and a coat of ployurethane to preserve its well aged beauty. Stool is constructed of what I believe to be solid oak with a bent wood foot rest. Selling this vintage piano stool- spins and adjusts height. Made of wood with cast iron feet. Item has been stripped and is a clean slate for your restoration ideas.
