Antique Blown Glass Figural Reindeer Narcisse Perfume Scent Bottle Xmas Ornament
Offered here for your bidding evaluation is this whimsical antique figural blown glass reindeer Narcisse perfume bottle! Standing 31/2" tall. The delicate glass deer has antlers, ears and a muzzle painted in gold. An embossed Narcisse paper label can be seen on the back of the creature. Traces of the perfume can be seen inside. Hard to believe that this fragile little hand blown beauty is still fully intact and without any breaks, though the tiny cork stopper has gone missing. There is an old cardboard box bottom that will be included with the scent bottle(not pictured) The box bottom is stained, bent, and has splits and tears. As to the deer, the glass is perfect but there is wear to the gold paint around the muzzle. I have seen several of these bottles holding various kinds of perfume. This is an antique perfume bottle from the late 1800's. It has an iridescent purple color to it and a Diamond pattern along the bottom half. The bottle itself is 2-1/4 inches tall WITHOUT the stopper in it. With the stopper it is 3-1/4 inches tall. I see no signature or mark on the bottom. No chips or breaks. Very delicate antique hand blown swirl glass. Vase form perfume bottle with glass dauber/stopper all in near mint condition. The glass has no chips, cracks or damage. There are bubbles and tooling marks in glass. The second photo from last shows a close up of a stretched or elongated bubble that looks like a crack until you view it with a magnifying glass which shows it's clearly a bubble. This is a most rare scent or smelling bottle. This perfume bottle was blown in full size two piece molds. If this bottle were in mint condition it would have been 2 1/8 inches in length and 1 13/16 inches in width. This bottle is the above quoted width with a height of about 1 1/2 inches. With the piece sticking up from the main body of the bottle it is 1 3/4 inches in height. This rare bottle is aquamarine in color with a flattened circular form on each side. On either side of this bottle there is a pinwheel or sunburst design with a large head at the center. The edges on this bottle have a heavy horizontal corrugation. This particular bottle can be found in various colors. The bottle needs a cleaning. There appears to be a little sand and a little dirt inside the bottle. As you can see from my pictures the neck and the lip of this rare ... moresmelling bottle are missing. I would estimate this bottle to be made between 1750- 1825. It is a quality piece of blown glass and has it's Germany sticker. The dauber is intact and is the little flower top. It measures 2 3/4 inches long. This fine antique hand blown opalescent glass perfume bottle c.1890 has hand painted gilding detail. The bottle has a delicate design with a beautiful faceted and pineapple cut stopper. Some of the gilding has wear as would be expected with use and age and the stopper has a minor flake on it's bottom. The overall presentation is very good.
