Most likely considered a sauce bowl with those gorgeous large handles but it could also be used as a large sugar bowl. The bottom is marked with Mark 6"Limoges France" Reference for this mark can be found on page 404 of The Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain. Third Edition by Mary Frank Gaston. This mark was found on most of the white ware that used by hobbyists during the Victorian era. The painting on the cover is divided into six sections with gold painted arches containing yellow cabbage roses with green leaves and vines. The painting, ... morein larger scale, is repeated in the six sections of the bowl. The cover handle is shaped to look like two leaves. This painter of this hobbyist piece left their initials and year on the bottom. T.W.D. painted in 1914. The approximate measurements are; 8 1/8 wide including the handles, 6" wide without, 3 3/4" tall to the top of bowl, 4" tall to the top of the handles and not including the cover, 4 1/2" tall with the cover. Condition: The bowl is in excellent antique condition with just minor loss of gold. This is to be expected from a 100 year old piece. The two leaves that make up the handle of the cover have small chips which were covered in gold making them quite inconspicuous. RARE ANTIQUE SUGAR BOWL ENGLISH 144 YEARS OLD BY THE MARKING EMBOSSED FLORALS
Up for auction is a wonderful. Antique sugar bowl. Has embossed floral motif all around the bowl and on the lid. There are no markings on the bottom, however, I have shown one picture that shows a pitcher that I have and it is similar to the sugar bowl; color, motif, porcelain, etc. and on the bottom of the pitcher is the marking that is shown with the sugar bowl. Same company producing both products. Dates to around 1846- 1871 which would make the piece around 144 years old. Such wonderful condition, no chips, cracks or crazing. Pitcher has wheat and the sugar bowl has ferns and flowers. Some of them have an English registry mark ... moredating them to 1881, and some of them have hand painted letters and numbers. They all came together and are the same pattern so the marks should be good for all of them. This piece measures 4.5 inches tall with the lid on. It measures approx. 6.75 inches across at the widest point where the handles are. It has the English registry mark and then some hand painted letter and number marks. Edwards Fenton covered sugar bowl/ dish. Marked No. 120165(I think it reads: Daphne) No chips. It has crazing on the lid. I tried to photograph a couple darker spots as well as an imperfection or crack under the lid. Some gold trim is worn off. 5" Wide by 5.5" tall not including handles or the handle on the lid. The lid sits a bit funny. You can see there is a bit of missing glaze at base if lid handle. This will be sent with bubble wrap. Thanks and good luck!

Gorgeous Antique Kutani Creamer and Lidded Sugar Bowl Pre WWI
This lovely set is clearly marked with the Ku tani symbol meaning Nine Valley's. The porcelain is stunning with a raised pattern to it. there is no wear to the gold on the pieces. I do see a small flea bite on the inner rim of the sugar bowl as shown in one of the pictures above, but that is the only flaw I can find. The deep reddish coloring perfectly accents these pieces with fine hand painted gold accents. What a stunning set this would be on a holiday table. Here is a little info on Ku tani. The above pieces are believed to be from the early 1900's. The two characters that make up the word Kutani consist of the character for"nine" Ku and"valley" Since Kutani is a place. Almost all pieces marked Kutani were decorated there even if by any of the many manufacturers or trading shops, rather than just a single factory. ... moreThe first time we hear of porcelain from the Kutani(nine valleys) Village. Was in 1655, in the in the first year of the Myoreki epoch. Japanese ceramic history has it that stones suitable for porcelain making was found in the Kutani mine of the Daishoji Clan, whereupon Lord Maeda Toshiharu sent Goto Saijiro to the Arita Village in the Hizen province to learn how to make porcelain. Kutani Porcelains from this early period are specifically called Ko-Kutani and are extremely rare. The production of this ware continued for about 50-60 years. Around 1800 the Kutani kilns was restored in Kasugayama. Kanazawa City to make utilarian porcelains. After just a few years this kiln was destroyed by fire. Around 1806-1820 Honda Sadakichi built new kilns in Wakasugi with the purpose of reviving the old style. Antique Covered Sugar Bowl Pink Roses Gold Trim Fluted Porcelain NR
This is an antique floral sugar bowl with lid. It is decorated with pink cabbage roses with green leaves on a blue background. The upper rim is green with a fluted edge. It is also trimmed with gold edging. There are some flaws. There is a place on the lid that has some over painting and there are dots here and there of un- explained paint. There is a small chip off of one of the fluted edge points and a spot under the gold decoration on the front that looks like the paint smeared a little. No chips on the lid finial or handles. No cracks or crazing. It's still pretty to look at and would make a nice start to a collection. Sold as is.

Antique Staffordshire Sunderland Pink Luster Sugar Bowl~C.1840 Soft Paste Early
Here for sale we have an Antique Pink Sunderland Luster Staffordshire Sugar Bowl. This lovely piece has its original lid and is in great Antique condition. There are only a couple of tiny flea bite chips on the inner edge of the sugar bowl. Then there is a discoloration on the bottom and an age crack. But over all the sugar bowl appears to be in great condition for a piece from the 1840's that may have been used almost daily. The bowl measures aprox 7 5/8 across at the handles. The bowl stands 6 1/2" tall to the finial on top of the lid. The sugar bowl measures 5 1/2" across at the center from back to front. There is some age crazing on the bottom. Some discoloration, and a very, very old age crack. Please see pictures for a visual description. There is no mark that we can tell. Rare Antique Pearlware Purple Spatterware Sugar Bowl w Tulip Design Here is a rare and early 19th century spatterware footed sugar bowl and matching lid. Covered in purple spatter, and decorated on the front with a bold three-colored tulip amidst green leaves with blue accents. The tulip petals are red and white with blue tips. This is an early piece of pearlware spatter, likely circa 1800 to 1820, and made in Staffordshire England for the American market. The bowl sits level and the lid fits perfectly. Both the bowl and lid are in excellent condition. With no chips, cracks, hairlines, or visible repairs. Both pieces were carefully examined under black light. There is a tiny glaze skip on the tip of a tulip petal, which occurred in the making, and a minor touch-up to the red glaze on the tulip. With the lid on. The sugar bowl is 1 7/8" tall. 2 7/8" across the top and 1 5/8" across base. They seem kinda miniature in size and the saucer may not even go with the set but just looked good together. They always sat together in my cabinet this way. There are a few minor flaws that I never noticed. The general look of the gold plate looks pretty nice. There's a crack on the innerside of the sugar bowl lip but it doesn't show on the outside. There's 2 indented pinpoint dots in the gold and a 1/4" rub in the gold in the creamer and a general overall crazed porcelain inside both creamer and sugar bowl. It has an Adams rose rainbow spatter design, done entirely in red and green. This is a large sugar bowl, measuring approximately 4 3/4" tall(with the lid on) and 5 1/4" across. Both the bowl and the lid are in excellent condition. With no stains, chips, or hairlines, and having just minor imperfections. The lid has a small and invisible edge restoration(impossible to see) The bowl has a small and invisible restoration on its rim and the glaze is gently worn in a few places along the edge, as shown in the photographs. A TALL URN IS TO THE LEFT WITH SOME TREES BEHIND THE URN AND TO THE RIGHT OF THE COUPLE IS A TREE WITH THE APPEARANCE OF A BUILDING-POSSIBLY A CASTLE IN THE BACKGROUND. ANTIQUE Z S& CO BAVARIA Sugar Bowl White Porcelain Pink Roses Pattern Gold Trim A charming white porcelain covered sugar bowl with pink roses and gold trim. Made in the Bavarian area of Germany with the"Z. S. Co. mark that was first used in 1880. The shape of this sugar bowl is Victorian and was probably made in the early 1900's. Measures 4-1/2" in diameter at the base which is the widest part& 4-1/2" high to the top of the finial. 5" wide handle to handle. In EXCELLENT CONDITION with no chips. Cracks or crazing, the gold trim is lighter in some areas, no other flaws of any kind.

BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE GERMAN CREAMER/SUGAR SET These types of larger creamer/sugar sets were popular before(and during) the Victorian days- maybe people back then always had large company groups for coffee& cake! Not marked. Just lots of hand-written numbers in fine pen script. A spray of yellow and blue flowers on both sides of the sugar bowl, and one spray on the creamer. The handles and knob of lid are fashioned like branches and there are ribbed designs on both pieces. The white marks are from the light and they are not on the porcelain. The creamer is 6.25" tall at the spout. The sugar bowl is 6" from handle to handle, and 5.5" tall. There are no chips are breaks or hairlines, the only age marks I can see is wear of the gold trim edge. Antique Vintage Glass Creamer Sugar Bowl Container
This is a vintage(1930-40's) small clear glass creamer& sugar bowl set. I believe they are of this era due to the history of the previous owner. I am not an expert on glassware. But I think this is a depression glass design. Each piece is about 2" high x 4" long x 2" wide. The creamer& sugar bowl are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks that I can see. RARE Antique 1920s Lehmann & Son Leuchtenburg Germany Sugar Bowl w Lid & Creamer
This is an antique and rare sugar bowl with lid and creamer. Made in Kahla Germany by C A Lehmann& Son, the mark on the bottom was used between 1910 to 1935, they are in very good condition, no chips, no cracks, no repairs, just the normal wear from use, time and storage, they are decorated with a pink rose on one side and yellow/light pink rose on the other, there is some fading of the gold trim, see pictures for better details.

Antique Limoge Pitcher And Sugar Bowl, Pink Flowers With Gold
The pitcher(8 1/2"tall) is in fair condition; there is some wear to the gold on the top of the handle and on the tip of the spout. There is a break on the inside of the lid(see photo) but this is not visible from the outside. The sugar bowl(6 3/4" tall) is in good condition. These belonged to my great grandmother who lived in Brooklyn. NY.
