Up for bid is gorgeous antique professionally hand carved 3 panel walnut French screen/ room divider only. It is a 3 screen that used to have hinges but these were lost over the years& it has a thin coat of yellow paint. I've seen allot of French carved screens claiming to have the best carvings but they were not the crisp clean quality detail& quality workmanship as this one has when you look up close; even the flowers are great. As shown it was put together in sections or pieces& one part of front middle section near top needs re-glued& has a little chip of wood missing. I'm pressing together in picture to show what it will look like ... morewhen glued& you can see what it looks like in pics not pressed together. It still has it's original panel inserts that you attach fabric to& then fit into back side of screen sections& attach with thin little tacks or nails. These fabric insert pieces show quite a bit of wear from changing fabrics over the years& are free to winning buyer if interested. I would ly screen down& trace outline to make new inserts or use original inserts as a template to make new ones maybe even out of plexiglass? For as old as screen is it only has a few chipped areas mostly where fabric sections fit inside back. 1 little cracked spot on base& some where hinges attach as pictured. There is what looks like glue over& around screw holes where hinges attach. The carvings are as fancy at the bottom as they are at the top where usually it's just the top that's fancy. This beauty was my mothers& I have been storing it for years& want to find a home where it will be loved& displayed. Tallest middle section measures aprox. 6 feet 3 1/4 inches tall. This turn of the century iron washstand is all ready t obe painted and decorated and installed in your bathroom or powder room. I have included two pictures of a very similar washstand that we have to give an indication of what can be done to this item. This has been in storage for a few years. As you can see there is no rust, it was primed and readied for use but nothing has been done to it since. Our green sample has a custom made brass bowl, but ready made top or undermount bowls can be purchased. The hand carving on front LC w/1893 and hearts. Etc on each side are charming. It is 23 in tall, 12 in wide and 6 in deep. We had modified it with 2 removable glass shelves inside which are easily removed(for shpg) and should the new owner so decide in case showcase would be used for 1 large item instead of many small ones. I don't know what the wood is, could be walnut due to small graining but I don't know.
