Early 19th Century Folk Art Primitive Wooden Dresser-Chest~Salesman Sample?
Pre 1850's Miniature Wooden Dresser measuring 6 3/4" x 4 1/2" x 10 1/4" ht dovetailed frame with hand cut rose head nail construction still in excellent near perfect condition. missing small front trim piece near the right leg. Top drawer has a nick on two corner edges and that's really it! Still has all the original knobs which appear to be made out of bone. Dresser is solid and when the drawers are removed the frame is still sturdy! Great example of an early primitive, folk art furniture piece that I'm sure the high bidder will be pleased with!

Completely identical to its large size with brass hinges and pulls. Note the original wire shelving behind three doors and the galvanized walls for the interior of the ice side. Approximately 34 in. tall. Glass top knob is 1-1/2 in. tall, 11-1/2 in. at its widest, and 20 in. deep at base. Great condition, light wear, a few minor chips at top, see also pictures. This antique step ladder came from the James Vick estate. He founded the Vick Seed Co. Here's more information taken from the seedsman.org: James Vick was born in Portsmouth. England on Nov. 23, 1818. In 1833, at the age of 12, he arrived in New York City to learn the printing trade. In 1837, he moved with his parents to Rochester, New York where he set type for several newspapers and journals. In 1849, James Vick was elected corresponding secretary of the Genesee Valley ... moreHorticultural Society. Vick was associated with the"Genesee Farmer" as a writer and editor from 1849 became owner and publisher in 1855. With Vick as editor, the publication became more elegant and circulation rapidly increased. A year later he sold out to Joseph Harris. On the death of A. J. The two side doors are hinged and the middle one sides, it is possible there were two sliding door? The wood is chestnut and the piece measures 10 1/4" high 9 1/4" wide and 4" deep with moldings. Antique Stick & Ball Folding Screen Childs Toy? Salesman Sample? Table Screen
Up for auction is a victorian walnut small folding screen. The screen 21 1/4" tall at its highest point. It consists of two panels which are nicely hinged. Each panel is about 10" wide. The piece could have been a child's toy. A salesman sample or a table top folding screen. It is in great condition for its age but could use a cleaning. All it need are two dowels on each panel to hold any fabric you desire. A very unusual and attractive piece. Antique Salesman sample ice box--signed and dated 1873------15039
I have had a couple salesman sample ice boxes over the years. But this is by far the oldest. Retaining the original stenciling which reads'SELTZER& FINK'S PATENT JAN 14, 1873' Quite original I believe with a hinged lid which reveals metal compartment with slat shelves. Bottom section has the door which opens(brass pull) to show another two slat shelves where the food would have been. Sides are decorated with design and note the door has raised embellishment.
