Cushman Colonial Genuine Creation Foot Stool Cricket 9038 Emossed Name Plate DESCRIPTION This is a gbu the manufacture is gem of a find. Great little step stool. Foot rest, foot stool, or a time out stool. It has a brass or metal oval lable on the bottom that reads A genuine Cushman Colonial Creation made in Bennington VT. Carved into the bottom by the manufacture is CUSHMAN 9038. There are four staples in the bottom where there must have been a paper lable. Very sturdy angled tappered legs. They are structured all the way through the top. Stool measures about 8" tall. Top measures about 13" x 9" I am not sure of the age. There are some scuff. Scratches and nicks in the stool. Hello. Today I am listing this beautiful vintage Cushman Colonial Creation Maple? footstool/bench. It has beautiful patina. But not without a few normal use scratches and marks. It was used with a child's toy piano, so it did get used. The metal Cushman tag is on the bottom and it is also marked Cushman#9038, carved/burnt/engraved in the wood. This is a product of Bennington, Vermont. It measures approximately 12-1/2 x 9 x 8 inches and weighs 3 pounds and 9.4 ounces. A very solid piece. Nice Vintage Cushman Colonial Creation Chair 5-82 Heavy Wood Reading Seat
The following auction is for a vintage Cushman Colonial Creation Chair Marked 5-82. It is used and shows some wear. I wiped the dust off.But that is all I have done with this chair. It has some scratches here and there,but overall its in decent shape with no cracks or repairs. I am bad with my kinds of wood.But I am guessing maple or oak? I don't really know. Its heavy. Its a large chair that would be a great reading chair by a fireplace or something like that. It is dull and seems to need shined up or polished. I think you could clean it up enough that you wouldn't even have to stain it. Its just a big old heavy wood chair. What I think is neat about the chair is that the legs are posted into the seat. Sofa & Armchair Set Cushman Colonial Creation Heywood Wakefield Style Midcentury
Cushman Colonial Creation of Bennington. Vermont, manufactured sturdy, no frills furniture from the 1930s on. This sofa and its matching armchairs are a little more modern than most of their pieces, with a decided Heywood Wakefield/Midcentury influence. Judging from the style, I would place them in the early'50s, maybe late'40s. The set is maple, and is very sturdy and solidly built. The sofa is 83.5 inches wide; the chairs are 36 inches wide. The arms on the sofa are 9 inches wide; the chairs' arms are 7.25 inches wide. Otherwise. The dimensions are the same for the sofa and chairs and are as follows: Overall depth = 29.5 inches Overall height = 29 inches Seat depth with cushions(seat and back) = 19 inches Seat height with cushion = 15 inches I purchased the set without cushions. And had them custom made. They are in excellent ... morecondition, like new. The cushions are covered in an indoor/outdoor canvas fabric from Perennials; they have contrasting self welt and zipper closures. They were professionally cleaned about a year ago, and have since been stored inside in a smoke free environment. They are still in good condition, but do show minimal signs of age- the color has faded some with exposure to the sun, and there is a nick on one side of the sofa seat cushion(see last photo) The wood finish on the frames has been cleaned and polished but otherwise is original. The pieces have aged gracefully, but do have the typical wear and tear(but also the patina) associated with vintage furniture. This is a great set for either indoors or a covered outdoor area. As you can see from the lead photo. It looked great on our screen porch(we stored it inside during the winter. As for shipping. I have a wonderful collection of 40+ Furniture Labels or Name Tags that came out of a cabinetmaker's shop to list tonight. Most date from the 1940's-1960's. These are all highly collectible and will add significantly value to any authentic piece of furniture of the brand that is missing the tag. These are all original and were all removed from various pieces of furniture that came in to the shop to be repaired or reworked. All in good to excellent condition. These original were affixed by glue to a piece of wood that hung in the cabinetmaker's shop so you will find glue residue on the back of most. But this in no way devalues the tag.
