Selling a vintage USA made Saltwater Shakespeare Reel 2081 Model EC. I'm not a grader of reels but would guess this would be in very good condition. Everything operates well but I'm sure it would be even better if cleaned and oiled on the inside. I'm not qualified to go there. All I've done is wiped the dust off the outside. If I had had a container. I'd tried to sell the Shakespeare Wonder Rod it was attached to. Hope my pictures will answer your questions; however if they don't, please send me an e-mail. There are 2 Shakespeare.1 Martin Fly Reel, 1 Daiwa and 1 with no name or markings. The Martin is Model 60. It is in good working condition. It has a line silencer. The Daiwa Is a Procaster. It has some damage on the one side but does not effect the operation. It also has a line leveler. There is 1 Shakespeare Durango. It is in good condition and spins and turns freely. It has a reversible handle. The other Shakespeare is a Model 32 Criterion dated 1960. It has a line leveler and silencer. The other reel pictured has no names or markings. It works very hard. Vintage 1940s to 1950s Fishing Poles and Reels all mad ein USA! Poles are vintage Shakespeare Poles Kwik Aim Double Offset Handle Seanless Tunular Steel Casting Rods. Both have carrying cases. One has tags still on it the other does not. Both rods are in good condition with minor signs of wear. One rod measures 57" base to tip and the other measures 53.5" base to tip. Reels: One is a Southbend Fishing Reel Model#550 Mode#6 Anti-Backlash. The other reel is a Hibbard Longcaster No: C99G Level Winding Reel. Both are in good condition. Both just need a little polishing and they are as good as new. Both are functional and can be used or to have as a conversational piece for all you collectors out there. Vintage Shakespeare Wonderod No. 1451. FBB, 8-feet, 6-inches long- fly fishing rod. Excellent condition from tip to tip. Manufactured most likely in early 1960s. When the 1451 model was a mainstay in the Shakespeare fly fishing rod lineup. Cork handle is in excellent shape. All connecting joints(2) in excellent condition and work perfectly. Tip top and all of the line guides and material used to keep them in place are excellent. There is no reason to think the pole wouldn't fish as well now as it was able to when it was brand new. Shalespeare's composite poles from this era were mostly like this- straight fiber rods with spiral markings. They were less flexible than today's composite poles and not as light.
