The pull out wood writing surfaces are solid wood with edge banding with slotted finger holes and measure 15 inches wide and 14 inches long. The pull out section itself measures 2.25 inches high. The 30 index card file drawers come in two 15 Drawer sections and measure 3.875 x 5.875 with interior dimension of 3 x 5 inches. The knobs and the card holders are solid brass and there is one knob missing but should be easy to replace. Given it's age this unit is in pristine condition. Some of the wooden index card drawers have plastic inserts while others are wood. All of the drawers are solid wood and the adjustable index card mechanism is operational in all 30 drawers. The unit was manufactured with the finest craftsmanship. The units are joined together using rotating metal clips that fit into rabbeted wood stretchers located on the bottom of each piece. The finish is on all four sides and is without major blemish. The unit was purchased at auction from the Office of Veteran Affairs. This is truly an exquisite piece of furniture.

VINTAGE IRON DRAGONS AND SOLID QUARTER SAWN OAK / PIPE HOLDER AND CANISTER
You are bidding on an antique solid oak pipe holder and canister. With mirror image cast iron dragons and chain hanger. I believe the item to be from the early 1900's. The display rack is 1"wide and 25"long. The canister is 4"wide and 6"tall, with a 3"x 3" interior storage space. Both dragons are 5.5"wide and 5"tall. The whole unit from the center of the chain, to the bottom of the canister is 15"tall when mounted on a wall. This is a nice way to display up to ten vintage pipes. I am always on the lookout for high quality quartered quarter sawn oak shaving stands. This piece certainly fits that billing. We have refinished this piece and it has a smooth. Even, and authentic finish. Note the round beveled mirror(in good condition) brass pulls and the neat curved door fronts. The mirror does adjust and turns to accommodate usage. This is a rare and beautiful quarter sawn tiger oak mirror with original hat hooks. And in very good original condition considering the age. Original mirror, beveled glass, Overall dimensions 28" tall by 36-1/2" Wide; the mirrored area is 23-1/2" wide x 19" tall. Some of the silvering is gone from the back of the plate glass that is the actual mirror itself and you can see dark blotches in the back. Typical of an 1800's piece. There are also a few imperfections in the mirror glass, a sign that the glass itself is original. There are also a few marks from wear on the wood and glass, which you would also expect from a mirror of this age. The lower middle 2 hat hooks are available(and shown) but the mirror will need to have a minor repair to install both hooks(but all pieces are there) The wood veneer covering the back ... moreof the frame is old and irregular as you can see from the photos.
