I had no information on this piece.Nor a clue what it was so I made an appointment with an expert at the Stickley Museum in Manlius NY.He told me it was not a production piece,it's a one of a kind made by a Stickley factory worker.The brand on the back was used in the 1930's-1940's and was changed in the early 50's.He also said the workers did not have access to the branding tool so it must have been for someone in management,a worker would have lost his job taking some thing branded.He also said Mr. Stickley would have unique pieces made for Christmas gifts for special people.He had no clue what it's function was nor did anyone until I was talking to a woman at the museum who thought it might fit large and small books of matches.I took it home and and found cigarettes and matches fit.I can only assume that is it's ... morepurpose.It is 13 1/4" high,8" wide and 3" deep and is in perfect condition except for one tiny crack on the bottom of match side which appears to have been repaired though I was also told many of these types of pieces were made from scraps. Mid-Century Stickley Cherry Valley Shaving or Dresser One Drawer Mirror
This is a harder to find gorgeous piece of Stickley. A very functional and stylish piece. This one drawer shaving or dresser mirror is by L. and J.G. Stickley of Fayetteville. New York. It is a mid-century piece in their popular Cherry Valley collection and made from fine solid cherry wood. It is stamped"Stickley Fayetteville" on the reverse and the remnants of the original paper labels are on the inside of the drawer. Unfortunately the previous owner thought it was a good idea to put contact paper to line the drawer, of course ruining much of the label. This particular example is in a slightly darker cherry finish than many other Cherry Valley pieces. It stands about 23" tall, 18.5" wide, and about 8" deep. Condition wise this piece is generally in excellent shape. It appears to have been gently used. But overall ... morethere are no major problems. I did notice two very small dark spots on the mirror, but they are barely noticeable unless you give it a very close inspection. I couldn't see any real scratches or areas of finish loss. It is a solid piece that would go well in a variety of settings. I will ship USPS Economy. Thoroughly packed with the mirror removed and wrapped separately. Vintage Furniture: Dining or Kitchen Set- Stickley- Drop Leaf Table& 4 Chairs- Solid Cherry- 1950's. This beautiful group was made by Stickley in the 1950's. It is all cherry. It’s a 5 piece set with a table and 4 chairs. Which can be used as a kitchen or dining room set. More information about each of these is included below. They are marked"Stickley- Fayetteville- Syracuse" I purchased the set from an antique store about 15 years ago and it cost about $3,000 back then(which is a lot more in today’s dollars) The only reason I am selling is that we are redecorating after moving to a new house and need something completely different. It was in very nice shape when we acquired it. And we treated everything well over the years, so there is probably less normal wear than usual for it’s age. Never-the-less, some signs of ... moreage and use are unavoidable, as described below. The main condition issue, however, is some recent damage from the movers(see below) I absolutely would have had it repaired except for the redecorating previously mentioned. Instead, I’ll just price the set on the low side and let the new owner take care of things as they wish. I can’t really ship this due to size and weight. But you can pick it up in Bean Station, Tennessee(less than 1 hour NE of Knoxville and 1 hour from the Smoky Mountains. a nice place to visit if you haven’t been here! If you change your mind when you see it there’s no obligation, of course. Here are more details: Dining Table- The table is rectangular with curved corners. It measures 60" 5' in length and 30" tall. It measures 48" 4' in width with both leaves up. Each side of the table has a 15" wide drop leaf that folds down. There are 2 flip out wings underneath each leaf to support it. Which fold out of the way when dropping the leaf. The table is 33" wide with one leaf down, and only 18" wide with both leaves down. There is a storage drawer at each end of the table that is built to match the angles of the table frame.
