This is an antique late 1800's to early 1900's perfume/cologne/tonic/barber bottle with a metal dabber top. The glass is a beautiful textured and decorated artful piece. It measures 4-1/2" high by 1-1/2" X 2" wide and deep. It has a rose type embossed emblem on the bottom but doesn't have any names or numbers on it. Item Description While starting bids may vary I ALWAYS POST WITH NO RESERVE! Up for auction is a beautiful Lavender Cut to Clear Glass Perfume Bottle. This lavender color is so rare that it is hardly ever seen. The bottle is in amazing condition with no chips or cracks. And I have inspected it pretty closely and can't even find a fleabite! The metal syphon tube seemed to short so I imagine a piece of it broke off at some point. I have repaired this by adding a plastic syphon tube on the end so it will now extend all the way to the bottom of the bottle for use. I believe the collar and atomizer are brass and the collar is stamped with"Czechoslovakia" which I have tried to photo for you. I have don a quick rinse out of the major debris for you but it could use a little more detail cleaning. There is some wear to the brass as you ... morewould expect for age but nothing more& still very shiney. It will need a new cord& bulb and I can see no reason it wouldn't work once those items are added. The bottom is smoothed flat and I have left the original old-time tag on it. From my research Mary Chess made these in a limited edition of 1000 for a private event. There are 2 sizes. This being the smaller version at 3-5/8" in height. The larger one features the nude woman standing atop the Pulitzer Fountain in New York at the Plaza Hotel. Unbelievably this still has its original box with original white cardboard retainer, and some of its perfume. I believe this was never opened as it still retains the protective cellophane wrapping around the neck, I have provided a pic) and the loss of perfume has been from evaporation, not from use. A small amount may have leaked out at some point, explanation below in condition. The red box has a nice velvet like flocked material of some kind around it, ... morethe top is gold with Mary Chess in red. Inside the perfume sits on a satin base with red satin walls. The Bottle is the only Mercury Glass example I have ever sold and one of the finest Victorian Perfume Bottles I have ever sold. The Bottle features a very nice Solid Silver Repousse Hinged Lid and mounts with the Body being cut in an amazing Optical Pattern giving the Mercury a wonderful appearance. The lid is unmarked as far as I can see but has been tested and is guaranteed to be at least 800 Grade(80% Pure) Solid Silver. The Bottle is in excellent all original condition. The pin in the hinge of the lid has broken off it needs to be removed and replaced but this can be done by any jeweler, I simply don't have time. There are no chips, cracks or repairs but we also could not remove the inner glass stopper. The Bottle is a large and impressive example measuring 4" long by 1-3/4" wide. This is a rare find for the collector of Perfume Bottles or Mercury Glass and I don't think you will find another up for auction any time soon, especially with no reserve! Rare 1800s Figural High Top Shoe Handkerchief Perfume Bottle Phila PA Perfumery
Description Offered at auction is a scarce antique figural perfume bottle made by the Philadelphia Perfumery in the late 1800's. It is a high top ladies shoe and stands 4" tall. 2 1/4" from back to front and 1 1/8" wide. The shoe has lacings in the glass and a bow at the top. The neck of the bottle has its original paper label. It is not entirely complete and some of the green lettering has been lost. It does read"Handkerchief Perfume" and"Philadelphia Perfumery. There is a logo in the center which I can not make out, and the bottom of the bottle is marked"B& H. The bottle has its original cork and is in fine condition with chips or cracks. It has very minor remnants of old perfume stuck to the sides inside but the inside is actually quite clear. There is very minor scratching on the tip of the shoes ... moreon the lacings.
