This is an antique late 1800's to early 1900's perfume/cologne/tonic/barber bottle with a metal dabber top. The glass is a beautiful textured and decorated artful piece. It measures 4-1/2" high by 1-1/2" X 2" wide and deep. It has a rose type embossed emblem on the bottom but doesn't have any names or numbers on it. This lavender color is so rare that it is hardly ever seen. The bottle is in amazing condition with no chips or cracks. And I have inspected it pretty closely and can't even find a fleabite! The metal syphon tube seemed to short so I imagine a piece of it broke off at some point. I have repaired this by adding a plastic syphon tube on the end so it will now extend all the way to the bottom of the bottle for use. I believe the collar and atomizer are brass and the collar is stamped with"Czechoslovakia" which I have tried to photo for you. I have don a quick rinse out of the major debris for you but it could use a little more detail cleaning. From my research Mary Chess made these in a limited edition of 1000 for a private event. There are 2 sizes. This being the smaller version at 3-5/8" in height. The larger one features the nude woman standing atop the Pulitzer Fountain in New York at the Plaza Hotel. Unbelievably this still has its original box with original white cardboard retainer, and some of its perfume. I believe this was never opened as it still retains the protective cellophane wrapping around the neck, I have provided a pic) and the loss of perfume has been from evaporation, not from use. A small amount may have leaked out at some point, explanation below in condition. The red box has a nice velvet like flocked material of some kind around it, ... morethe top is gold with Mary Chess in red. Inside the perfume sits on a satin base with red satin walls. The bottle is in a ring shape. The top is sterling and there is a chain so the piece can attach to a chatelaine. The bottle retains some of it's orignal wading from the vinaigrette. The top is a screw off piece. There is no stopper. The bottle measures 2-1/4" long and 1-1/2" wide. There are some very small chips to the outside edge from age and use. C-1860-80. Gorgeous& very rare antique perfume bottle/ flacon. Produced by Baccarat for the house of Grenoville for their scent Bluet, later used for other Grenoville scents. The four sided rectangular bottle has clear Cathedral panels on each side with dividing sections moulded with what appears to be wheat stalks, the stopper is gorgeously rendered with a large central floral blossom with a background of leaves& closed buds. Bottle is shy of 4 inches tall. Stopper& polished base of bottle both have a hand etched number"8" No Baccarat signature but this is appropriate for the age& manufacturer. The Bottle is the only Mercury Glass example I have ever sold and one of the finest Victorian Perfume Bottles I have ever sold. The Bottle features a very nice Solid Silver Repousse Hinged Lid and mounts with the Body being cut in an amazing Optical Pattern giving the Mercury a wonderful appearance. The lid is unmarked as far as I can see but has been tested and is guaranteed to be at least 800 Grade(80% Pure) Solid Silver. The Bottle is in excellent all original condition. The pin in the hinge of the lid has broken off it needs to be removed and replaced but this can be done by any jeweler, I simply don't have time. There are no chips, cracks or repairs but we also could not remove the inner glass stopper. The Bottle is a large and impressive example measuring 4" long by 1-3/4" wide. This is a rare find for the collector of Perfume Bottles or Mercury Glass and I don't think you will find another up for auction any time soon, especially with no reserve! This is a rare and wonderful old Victorian perfume or cologne bottle. The spiral bottle is in excellent condition. The sterling lid has three dings. According to the hallmarks. The bottle was made in London in 1883 by S. Mordan and Co. Lmt. The piece measures 10 1/2 inches from top to bottom.
