Here is a fantastic green glass perfume with silver overlay; it is antique. But has never yet been monogrammed; it is very pretty and free of any damage. It is one of three great little antique glass treasures listed. It has original stopper, which is also in fine condition. Total height is about 4" tall. Base is about 1' and widest belly about 2 1/2" Fabulous patina on silver, over top of the perfect shade of green; this bottle looks amazing in cabinet or on dresser for Valentines day. VICTORIAN TAPPERING CUT GLASS COBALT BLUE SILVER TOPPED PERFUME BOTTLE VICTORIAN TAPPERING CUT GLASS COBALT BLUE SILVER TOPPED PERFUME BOTTLE This Fine Victorian Tapering Cobalt blue Cut Glass Perfume Bottle has a fine Repause Silver Hinged Top and its Original Stopper although wedged in and partly Broken. This Stopper can of course be replaced. The Tapering Bottle Measures 5 ¼ inches in length and the Fine Silver Top which is shaped like a Crown with no dents. It seems there could be a very small band of Silver Missing at the bottom of the collar 0.2 of a cm. This is where the original Hall Marks would have been and would have been dated around 1895. Overall Condition is Very good with no Damage. Dents to the top and no chips to the glass. It is a large rounded cut crystal bottle with a sterling silver hinged top and a glass stopper. The cut is beautiful and there is a 12 point star on the bottom. I tried to research the hallmark and will share what I found with you. If I'm wrong. The shield looks like it has 3 identical shapes inside it and the rectangle next to the shield also has a shape inside. There is another mark before the lion and I think that is the maker's mark.possibly J.T. or J.J. My eyes aren't what they used to be and I even used a magnifier. I'm pretty sure that the ground glass stopper is the original one and it is in excellent condition and fits beautifully. The hinged top and collar have no dents. Cracks or repairs and the hinge works perfectly. It clicks when you close it. This lovely bottle measures approximately 4 1/2" tall and 11" in circumference. When held to the light, I noticed a couple of small spots on the bottom and one on a clear panel but think that they are manufacturer flaws.they do not have a rough feel at all but I did want to mention it. Circa 1880 In wonderful condition. Not hallmarked as was so typical with these Antique Victorian scent bottles. The beautiful flat tubular glass is in lovely condition. The blue bottle is the most wonderful colour being the deepest of the cobalt shades with a hint of purple. With no chips or nibbles. The solid silver screw on lid has heavy repousse silver work of flowers& leaves. Absolutely stunning. I can feel a slight indentation to the lid where the tip of my finger rests when unscrewing the lid. This is very hard to see due to the ornate decoration to the lid. I mention for total accuracy. Vintage Antique? Silver Tone Small Ornate Flower Perfume Bottle - Glass Stopper
I don't really know anything about this piece. It appears to be a small metal perfume bottle with a glass stopper. There is a raised design on it that has flowers and leaves at the top and just some pretty designs towards the bottom half. I cannot get the top off and would be scared of breaking it to try too hard. So I cannot tell you what's inside, but it doesn't slosh or anything. I do not know if it is sterling silver or just a silver tone metal. It could be marked on the rim, but since I cannot get the top off, It does show some patina. Item Description While starting bids may vary I ALWAYS POST WITH NO RESERVE! Up for auction is a GREEN GLASS Perfume Bottle with Sterling Silver Overlay and Matching Stopper. The sterling overlay is in a nice Art Nouveau design. No missing sterling overlay to the glass bottle but there is a tiny split in the overlay on the stopper which may represent a small piece missing. It's hard to tell and I never even noticed it until I inspected it closely for selling. There are a couple very small cracks in the neck and one thin hairline in the glass bottle towards the bottom half. Again. Due to the silver overlay it is very hard to see but I did try to photgraph it for you. The bottle does hold water so the hairline is obviously not entirely through the glass and just on the inside as it is smooth on the outside. Overall. It's in really great shape. I believe this scent bottle must be at least 100 years old and probably older. I would not be at all surprised if it were made in the late 1800's but it is NOT marked. The glass is hand cut and the lines are imperfect. The sterling top is in excellent condition with no dents, dings or splits. The cork inside is intact and whole. I can still smell a hint of whatever perfume used to be kept in it. Approx. 3" tall stunning perfume bottle. Unique shaped glass that comes to a slight raised point on each side. Designed silver hinged top(unmarked) that is attached. 1800's Victorian 10 Sided Ruby Glass Perfume/Salts Bottle w Double Silver Ends
A GORGEOUS Antique 1800's Victorian 10 Sided. Ruby Glass Perfume/Salts/Scent Bottle,with Double Sterling Silver Ends. This lovely 10 sided lay-down perfumer bottle is a unique size.Measuring only, 3 3/4" long,with approx. 3 1/2" circumference. Bottle fits in the hand perfectly,and has a lovely feel. Double ends are sterling silver,however unmarked,have been positively tested. One end screws off,and is cork lined inside the cap. Opposite end has a hinged cap,that flips open to reveal a gold gilded,fancy cut-out designed screen. This would be the end that held salts,back in the day. The ruby glass color on this bottle is absolutely stunning! This little beauty is from my personal Collection.And is in very good condition! No monograms on the silver ends. Antique Hinged Perfume Bottle, Sterling Silver and Cut Glass; by Mappin & Webb
This gorgeous Victorian perfume bottle was made by the London silversmiths Mappin and Webb. Most likely in the late 1800's. The top is.925 sterling silver, and the bottle is cut class. It is in very good condition, with just a small amount of wear on the bottom of the glass and some chips on one side of the stopper grip. The metal and hinge are excellent. 3-1/4" tall x 2" diameter I tried to magnify the hallmarks inside the lid and on the outside of the cover. One shows what appears to be the sillouette of the Queen. London, 1909 This beautiful perfume bottle is a fine example of the cameo glass produced by Thomas Webb and Sons in England in the 19th and 20th century. The rounded red body is decorated with finely carved clusters of apple blossoms on branches with leaves. The deep red appears to glow from the inside and provides a beautiful contrast to the opaque white floral decoration. The simple round lid is sterling silver and monogrammed in script with the letters"TMF" ... moreThe lid tapers down to a rounded silver band that fits over the threaded silver mount around the neck of the bottle. The stopper is no longer present. However, the lid works perfectly and the bottle closes securely. Thomas Webb began manufacturing art glass in England in 1837. The firm exhibited their cameo glass at the Paris Exhibition with Tiffany's in 1899 and took the Grand Prize. This exquisite bottle would make a wonderful addition to either a collection of fine art glass or to a collection of perfume bottles. Marked: Hallmarked on the silver band for London. 1909, with the makers' mark for Finnigan's who began production in Manchester in 1875 but opened offices in London in 1903. The Webb glass is not signed, which is typical. Measures: Bottle measures 3 1/2" H x 3" W. Excellent condition: Absolutely no chips cracks. Crazing, damage or restoration, Missing stopper which affects neither appearence or wear. Patination on the silver commensurate with age. Antique Green glass sterling silver overlay perfume bottle. Maybe Alvin, Gorham?
Up for auction is an antique green glass perfume bottle with sterling silver overlay designs. There is no monogram. The stopper is approx. 1.5 inches long. The bottle stands approx. 2.5 inches without the stopper and 3.5 inches with it. On the back of the neck below the rim it is stamped Sterling. I can not find any other marks. There is one very tiny either flaw or chip on the bottom, I really can't tell if it is a flaw in the glass or tiny chip as it is very hard to notice. It is about the size of tiny grain of pepper. The Bottle is the only Mercury Glass example I have ever sold and one of the finest Victorian Perfume Bottles I have ever sold. The Bottle features a very nice Solid Silver Repousse Hinged Lid and mounts with the Body being cut in an amazing Optical Pattern giving the Mercury a wonderful appearance. The lid is unmarked as far as I can see but has been tested and is guaranteed to be at least 800 Grade(80% Pure) Solid Silver. The Bottle is in excellent all original condition. The pin in the hinge of the lid has broken off it needs to be removed and replaced but this can be done by any jeweler, I simply don't have time. There are no chips, cracks or repairs but we also could not remove the inner glass stopper. The Bottle is a large and impressive example measuring 4" long by 1-3/4" wide. This is a rare find for the collector of Perfume Bottles or Mercury Glass and I don't think you will find another up for auction any time soon, especially with no reserve! A beautiful and very stylish late nineteenth century scent bottle with a globe base and elegant lock neck. All beautifully cut. The glass is a stunning and highly sought-after blue colour graduating to clear at the base of the bottle. The screw-top lid is made from English sterling silver, hallmarked for Birmingham 1896, making this a true Victorian example. The makers mark is also present CM for the silversmith, Charles May. The top of the lid has a vacant circular cartouche which could be engraved by your silversmith if you wished to personalize it. Antique Perfume Bottle Mt Washington Webb Burmese Glass Silver (#3356)
19th century lay down sterling silver and enameled glass perfume bottle. Made either by Mt. Washington in the USA, or Thomas Webb& Sons in England. Total length is 8 1/2 inches. Long. Tapering bottle in ivory coloured glass, beautifully enameled with delicate scrolling branches with flowers in full bloom and buds and foliage. COlours are red, pinks, salmons, orange, and shades of green and brown, all highlighted with gold. Pattern entirely encircles the bottle, including the bottom. THe swirling sterling silver lid is hallmarked twice, once with an animal head and one oval with IP. No stopper. The bottle was made either by Mt. Washington as was a 4inch example with a bamboo pattern. Similarly enameled in Jacquelyne Jones North's 1986 book on perfume bottles, page 21. It is also very similarly decorated to examples of Webb Burmese ... moreglass, one page 39 Revi's Nineteenth Century Glass. Condition looks very good to the naked eye. But magnifying glass reveals a small slightly uneven patch(less than 1/4 inch wide) on the bottom, which may be original to the bottle, mentioned only for total accuracy. Antique green glass and sterling silver over lay scent bottle. Condition: there is a dent on the top of the marked sterling silver lid. I can't remove the inner glass stopper and there is perfume or salts residue on the inside of the bottle. There are nicks on the glass stopper and on the edge of the top of the bottle. You may be able to get the stopper out. I have soaked it in hot water with no results. The lid screws on and off nicely with no problems. It is a heavy little thing, super shiny and displays VERY nicely. Please view all photo's and enlarge them. This piece measures 2-3/16" tall with lid in place and is 1-1/16" in diameter. The 1916 date is the one on the label(still attached) when the bottle was purchased many years ago in London. The label also says Silver and there is an assay mark for silver on the top. Although the top is more of a gold or brass color than what I am used to seeing in silver. The glass bottle(empty but still has a faint perfume aroma) has 10 sides and is also faceted around the neck of the bottle. The bottle is in excellent condition. The top is engraved with various leaf designs around the initials DK or KD. On the neck of the bottle are several marks. The first mark is A& Cộ LTD which is the mark for Aspry and Co. LTD. Aspry was established in 1781. Next it the mark of a lion(which is ... morea town mark of London) then there is an"a" which is the maker's mark, and next is a leopard's head(assay mark for the silver standard. There is a small dent in the lid. Size: It is approximate 1 1/2" across and 2 1/4" tall. Please ask questions before bidding.
