The lid is huge and beutifully decorated. The hinge works perfectly and the sterling lid is secure to the bottle. The inside of the lid still retains it's nice gold wash. There is a dent to the lid as you will see in the photos. The bottle is free of chips. Cracks& repairs. However, whatever liquid used to be stored in this bottle has left a residue to the top 1/4 of the bottle. It has also left the rest of the bottle with an slightly iridescent cast to it. Very strange but you will see what I mean in the photos. This is one of those bottles you almost pass up but then just due to it's size and lovely details in the lid and cut glass you decide it's worth the trouble. I have not attempted to remove the"residue" so perhaps some of it will come off ~ I do not know. I have broken too many a bottle while trying to scrub them up. So now just a light dusting and if they are presentable- I leave the major cleaning to you. The bottle is heavy and I imagine just the silver lid alone would be worth a bit of money. The lid is 2 1/4 inches tall and 1 1/2 inches across at the widest. Shoot. Just the lid is as big as some sterling silver bottles alone! The total height of the bottle(lid& glass) is 6 1/4 inches tall and the width across the widest part is 3 1/2 inches. Just so you know what a conversation piece it is.when my daughter asked what used to be in the bottle I told her it was probably"the potion of some Mad Victorian Era Scientist.maybe Frankenstien himself" I couldn't resist having a little fun at her expense. Antique Perfume Bottle with large glass stopper, 8-1/4 inches tall
Thank you for viewing my auctions. Offered to you is a Antique perfume bottle with round shaped shopper. The Stopper is 3-1/4 inches round with glass plug that is an additional 1/2 inch. The round portion is ornate with a pressed glass design that has bubbles inside of it. It is of about 1/4 inch thickness of glass that was created by taking a plain piece and fusing it to an ornate piece with the design when created. This creates a seam around the center of the outside of the glass but the design is seen through the it. One side smooth and the other the actual art work. The area that slides into the bottle( I call the plug) is solid glass and the very top of this piece as well as the bottom have spider bite type chipping that could be sanded by a professional. These are not deep gouges but exist around it. The Bottle portion is a thick heavy ... moreglass that is seamed on the side and fused together in its creation. It has lovely design with scalloped foot. There are no chips on this piece but if you stick your finger down the bottle you will feel the spider bites at the lower area of where the plug rests.This could be in the making of it or created through aging. It is not noticeable to the outside. The stopper and the bottles fit very well together and it is not top heavy, they are an excellent marriage. Thank you once again for choosing my auction. Unusual Large art glass perfume bottle Blue / Aqua Swirls 6 1/2 inches tall
Unusual Large and Heavy Art Glass perfume bottle. Swirled with shades of blue and aqua in crystal clear class; although unmarked it brings to mind Glass Eye Studio or Murano work I've seen in the past. Roughly 6 and a half inches high and 3 1/2 inches across.The glass stopper is made in the shape of a disk with rods of colored glass arranged in a double ring when viewed straight on. The neck of the bottle is fitted with a rubber seal which holds the stopper securely in place. The piece does have some tiny bubbles in the glass. And upon careful search, the only damage I find is a small nick at the edge of the stopper( see last photo) I does not detract from the beauty of the piece.you have to be searching for"issues" to find it. Vintage Art Deco Glass Perfume Bottle 9" Tall Long Slender Gorgeous
This stunning Art Deco perfume bottle stands 9" tall including the stopper. It is dripping with sleek beauty. The glass is thick and heavy. It has that oily feeling like a good piece of Heisey glass does although we don't know who made it. The base is finished with a step down shape. The diameter is 2 1/2" There are light superficial scratches on the bottom, nothing bad, just an indicator that it has some age. Otherwise, it's in nice shiny condition, no chips, damage or repairs.
