Scrolling foliate and petite flowers encompass the silver lid and collar. A blank cartouche tops the hinged lid, opening to reveal a gilt vermeil interior and a cut glass stopper. Hallmarked with the wild boar's head, a French standard for.800/1000 silver. The mark was typically used on small objects of at least 80% pure silver content, close to.925 sterling. A pair of antique French opaque gray art glass perfume/scent bottles. From the base to the top of the stopper they measure 8-7/8" tall. Enameled white dot trim on stopper as well as gold accent. Hand painted design on each bottle is absolutely beautiful. Raised enamel on the petals and leaves. Beautiful detail on the butterflies. These bottles are in good condition with no cracks in the glass. There is a very tiny chip on one of the stopper at the very top where the white accent dots are placed. Very slight wear to some of the gold trim at the edges. These imperfections do not take way from the beauty of these pieces. They are really lovely antique collectibles! No maker's mark. ANTIQUE MOTTLED BLUE GLASS ATOMIZER- MADE IN FRANCE This auction is for an old art glass atomizer with orginal ball and cord. This atomizer stands about 7 1/2" tall with a 4 3/4" tall cased and mottled blue glass bottle. The fitting is stamped Made in France. And if the bottle was also produced in France, then my best'guess' is that it was produced by Schneider Glass. Mottled glass such as this one is commonly attributed to Czech or Bohemian glasshouses, another possibility for this unmarked art glass. Although the rubber puffer ball is petrified, the cord damaged, and the glass siphon tube inside the bottle is broken and needs to be replaced, this atomizer is in fine condition; no damage to the glass, all metal fittings complete, and with an easy restoration this could be a working bottle. Each individual bottle is a different color(amber, blue, green and pink) and has a stopper with a glass dauber; three of the four daubers are broken. The fourth goes all the way to the bottom of the bottle but the stopper is stuck and I haven't soaked it to try to dislodge it. The bottles are shaped in a manner that allows them to fit snugly in their"nest" that is, one side is rounded and the other two sides are flat(see photos) Each bottle measures 3 3/4" in length, and when in their holder, the ensemble is just over 4" tall. Antique 19th C French RUBY RED Glass Perfume BOTTLE with Bronze ORMOLU Mounts
Up for your consideration is this fabulous. Beautiful,rare, 19th century, probably French red glass perfume bottle. Made of thick ruby red glass, the bottle is mounted inside elaborate bronze base and bottle neck with handles. Bronze have beautiful relief of vine leafs and grapes all around the bottle neck and on the bottom plate with bronze cut in shape of grape leafs. The stopper is tall, 6 panels cut,with frosted dauber which is marked on the bottom in red with number 93. The perfume bottle is in mint condition for it's age, there are 2 imperfections on glass,one near the neck,tiny cut in hot glass and pin head burst air bubble near the bottom. Or some similar precious metal. The clover leaf pump mechanism seems to be very rare, I haven't seen another one like it. 9 1/2" tall. Victorian in style, just too beautiful for words. Could this have been on a beautiful French woman's vanity? I'll never know. But it sure would not have been out of place.
