999/1000 SILVER, BETTER THAN STERLING, OVERLAY PERFUME BOTTLE
This bottle measures approximately 2 and 3/4 inches in height. I found the silver marks after shooting the pics. It is marked on a bottom loop. 999/1000. It also has an indeciperable makers mark. Note that both the bottom of the stopper and the bottom of the perfume bottle are etched with a number. The stopper has chips on the edge of the polished end. There are three fairly decent sized chips or cracks compared to the size of the stopper, though they are on the bottom/edge of the stopper. Each Marked STERLING 54 Unknown Maker You are buying two beautiful. Old Heavy Crystal/Glass Bottles(Perfume Bottles) with Stoppers. All time best shape and form. Each has unique tooled. Sterling overlay. The Design on each includes a flower Iris or Daffodil? and a Solid Silver plate with ornamental“vines” Beautiful! Both need to be polished and interiors cleaned as they have Cloudiness. Moisture residue, build up inside. I did not want to risk doing any damage to these pieces so I left them As-Is. These were my Mom’s from her Sterling Collection. She has had them wrapped and stored for many years. There ... moreare no chips or cracks on the Bottles. The Silver Overlay on one is complete and Beautiful. The other one has a part of a flower missing(Picture with the frosty looking outline shows the missing silver) It was hard to get great pictures without glare and reflections and shadows. These are not marks on the Silver or bottle. But like I mentioned. Silver needs to be polished, so there are tarnished marks, Patina? The Top rims are also slightly different. One has a little wider cover lip. The Stoppers are complete. One has a“fracture” Bottom of stem, but it seems to be internal. Both have chipping/fleabites along stem bottoms. The One Stopper with the“fracture” was hand-blown and is hollow. The other Stopper is Solid. Each are similar size but have a little different shape. These two really complement each other. But they are not identical. Would be a lovely Cruet Set for Oil and Vinegar. They are both so lovely just Sitting on Display. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have. This a gorgeous Antique Perfume Bottle with Sterling Silver overlay. The silver is thick and design lovely. It has old Hallmarks 925/1000 and Mark is readable as produced in Atteboro. Massachusetts by Saart Brothers in about 1906. Patented. The bottle measures a Large approx. 5 1/2" Tall X 3 1/2 inches high. The stopper is FREE of Chips. however looks like the interior stem has some cracks. Inside there is some crusty debrie which needs to be cleaned out. No dings! Sterling Silver Overlay Perfume Bottle with Stopper, La Pierre??
Absolutely Beautiful Perfume Bottle with Silver Overlay- Possible La Pierre? This came out of an estate and is a really beautiful piece. It stands approximately 4 inches high and is approximately 2 1/4 inches at the widest section of the bottle. I could not get a picture close and clear enough to show the makers mark. But at the bottom of the neck(the section which is above and just to the right of the engraving nameplate) there is a"L" in cursive with a small cross slashmark on the"L" and then the word"sterling" right next to the"L" This marking appears to match the marking I found for the silver smith La Pierre who started his business in Newark. NJ in the late 1880's. I am not a silversmith and if you have any questions or would need further information, please get in touch and I'll do my ... morebest to help. Also. I did not clean or polish this peice and there are two flaws that I did see. One is a small hairline crack radiating from the bottom of the neck outward and is about 1/2 inch long. When the front of the bottle is facing you, it is up on the left hand side, a bit to the rear so it's not very noticable. The other possible issue is on the top of the stopper, there may be a very tiny peice of the silver design missing. I'm not sure since I'm not familiar with design, but there is an end of one of the decorative sections that has uplifted off the bottle a little bit. Nothing may be missing and it may just need to be glued, but I'm just trying to explain any possible issues that I saw. Overall. This is a really beautiful peice. There was no engraving on the front plate, so I presume you could have it engraved if you wanted to personilize it for your collection or maybe as a special gift for that certain collector! Up for auction is an antique green glass perfume bottle with sterling silver overlay designs. There is no monogram. The stopper is approx. 1.5 inches long. The bottle stands approx. 2.5 inches without the stopper and 3.5 inches with it. On the back of the neck below the rim it is stamped Sterling. I can not find any other marks. There is one very tiny either flaw or chip on the bottom, I really can't tell if it is a flaw in the glass or tiny chip as it is very hard to notice. It is about the size of tiny grain of pepper. This is a set of antique. 999, sterling silver overlay, art nouveau, perfume bottles. To our knowledge. They are Alvin Sterling Silver with the low numbers of 3104, fine. We're assuming they are rare. The Alvin Manufacturing Company was founded in 1886 by William H. Jamo uneau in Irvington. New Jersey. The company moved to Sag Harbor. Long Island in 1895 and later changed its name to the Alvin Silver Co. in 1919. The Alvin Silver Manufacturing Company was known for making fine sterling silver. The Gorham company of Providence. Rhode Island acquired the Alvin Company’s dies and patterns in 1928. The largest measures 4" tall and 3 1/2" in diameter with original stopper. Part of the marking is worn off. But it looks like it says: Fine Silver 999 1000. Two of the nines and the F are worn off. The bottom of the bottle is etched with the number 167. Vintage original 1920's or 1930's era Faux Bamboo Sterling Silver Overlay Perfume or Scent Bottle. Thick silver overlay. Actually a higher grade of silver.950 instead of.925. Unknown maker but certainly quality. Aprox 4 1/4" tall. Original top and hinged pouring spot that opens and closes as you use it. Original cork under the top. There is no damage at all. I did not polish the silver but the tarnish is not the heavy kind and it will polish up beautifull. The detail in the leaves and bamboo show up better without polish reflections anyway. Up for auction is a mini silver overlay perfume bottle. The bottle measures 2.25” tall. It has a square body shape and is 7/8th square. It has a round screw on cap. The bottle is hallmarked on the bottom. The bottom has what appears to be a horse head hallmark and it is marked 925 heco en Mexico. Antique Art Nouveau Sterling Silver Overlay Cranberry Perfume Bottle w/Stopper
You are bidding on a beautiful early 1900's Antique Art Nouveau Dark Cranberry Perfume Bottle with intricate silver lace decoration surrounding the entire bottle and a silver heart stopper. There is a silver cartouche with a fancy capital letter"D" engraved in the center of it. The word"STERLING" is stamped on the opposite side of the cartouche on one of the lower silver laces. Hard to see with the naked eye but it is visible. The bottle is in excellent condition except for some internal hairlines on one side of the inter neck of the bottle which we believe happened from the heat of the silver when it was being applied, there are no other defects. We do not believe the silver heart stopper is an original stopper to the bottle because most the bottles and stoppers we've seen on Ebay look like each other, at least ... morein this style, but it is a very nice stopper and it inserts into the bottle very well. The measurements of the bottle are: 2-9/16" tall, 2-1/16" wide. The measurements of the stopper are: 2" tall, 3/8" wide. With the stopper inserted in the bottle they are: 3-15/16" tall. The silver overlay pattern features a large bow on two sides. There is some cracking at the top inside;but. Does not leak or feel rough to the touch. It is in excellent condition with only very light surface scratches. I do not see any cracks or chips to the internal glass bottle. The top is a twist off cap. The bottle is empty with no scent to. It is very clean inside and out so it appears it has never been used. All the sterling overlay is intact- no breaks and no missing sections. It is about 2 1/8 inches tall and 1 1/8 inch wide. The pattern is thin scrolls with dogwood flowers and there is a flowery script 2 letter monogram on the irregular shield shaped plate"LM" Excellent condition with no damage noted but the stopper is stuck in. And has not been removed for the 25 years I have had it on display. It may come out with warm water soaks. I just never tried.
