Presenting a large. Heavy 2 oz. size Shalimar perfume bottle made by Baccarat. This lavish bottle was introduced in the mid-1920s to house Guerlain’s signature fragrance of the twentieth century. Shalimar. I estimate this particular bottle to date from the 1940s. The Baccarat logo is acid etched on the bottom. As well as the words"Guerlain, Paris, France" and"Bottle Made in France" The generous measurements are 5 3/4 in. tall, 4 in. wide, and 1 3/4 in. deep. There is a tiny rough spot on the top of the clear crystal fan stopper. And the gold Shalimar label has darkened with age. Otherwise. The bottle is in beautiful condition. The label is original, and the"G" seal and some of the silk cord remains. The number"31" is etched into both the inside of the cap and the base, to show they are a perfect fit. ... moreThere is still a small amount of Shalimar perfume in the bottle. Interestingly, Lanvan's contemporary, Gabrielle Chanel, also started in business by creating and selling hats and, life Lanvin, came from an unstable family background. Lanvin ... morewas the oldest of eleven children born to a stuggling journalist. Bernard-Constant Lanvin, and his wife, Sophie-Blanche. The mere fact that she went to work at age 13 suggests that the family was not awash with money, however cultured they might have been. From the House of Felix. Lanvin moved to Barcelona, to work for the House of Cordeau. This was the age of hats and Lanvin had the knack. Her star was rising, along with her income.
