All pieces are very old and authentic and they are been kept in my family for many years with love and care. This auction is for a lovely ALVIN sterling silver overlay& Crystal perfume bottle. The Alvin Manufacturing Company was founded in 1886 by William H. Jamouneau in Irvington. New Jersey. The company moved to Sag Harbor, Long Island in 1895 and later changed its name to the Alvin Silver Co. in 1919. The Alvin Silver Manufacturing Company was known for making fine sterling silver. The Gorham company of Providence, Rhode Island acquired the Alvin Company’s dies and patterns in 1928. It measures approximately 3 3/4" with original stopper. There is a monogram. In script, on the cartouche. It is marked" 999/1000 Fine" with the Alvin hallmark and numbers" 3 111" The Sterling overlay on this lovely bottle bears the hallmark of the Alvin Manufacturing Company. Which became Alvin Silver in erlay 1900. The art nouveau silver whips and swirls around the inverted tear-shape of the bottle. Forming flowers and stems. The condition of this bottle is near mint. The only problem is that sometime in the last century the stopper was bumped and has a slight chip and two small crack inside bottle neck(doesn't show when it is on. It sits properly and doesn't take away from the beauty of this bottle) Please note in the photos I show how the bottom of the bottle and the bottom of the stopper have matching etched numbers: 18. They have been mates since the day they were made- the glass in the stopper was ground specifically to fit the neck of this bottle. Very rare piece! I accept PayPal. The lid is huge and beutifully decorated. The hinge works perfectly and the sterling lid is secure to the bottle. The inside of the lid still retains it's nice gold wash. There is a dent to the lid as you will see in the photos. The bottle is free of chips. Cracks& repairs. However, whatever liquid used to be stored in this bottle has left a residue to the top 1/4 of the bottle. It has also left the rest of the bottle with an slightly iridescent cast to it. Very strange but you will see what I mean in the photos. This is one of those bottles you almost pass up but then just due to it's size and lovely details in the lid and cut glass you decide it's worth the trouble. I have not attempted to remove the"residue" so perhaps some of it will come off ~ I do not know. I have broken too many a bottle while trying to scrub them up. So now just a light dusting and if they are presentable- I leave the major cleaning to you. The bottle is heavy and I imagine just the silver lid alone would be worth a bit of money. The lid is 2 1/4 inches tall and 1 1/2 inches across at the widest. Shoot. Just the lid is as big as some sterling silver bottles alone! The total height of the bottle(lid& glass) is 6 1/4 inches tall and the width across the widest part is 3 1/2 inches. Just so you know what a conversation piece it is.when my daughter asked what used to be in the bottle I told her it was probably"the potion of some Mad Victorian Era Scientist.maybe Frankenstien himself" I couldn't resist having a little fun at her expense. It is a large rounded cut crystal bottle with a sterling silver hinged top and a glass stopper. The cut is beautiful and there is a 12 point star on the bottom. Please be sure to enlarge each picture for a better view as I don't think that I will be able to do this piece justice with my description. I tried to research the hallmark and will share what I found with you. If I'm wrong. You are more than welcome to return the bottle for a full refund as long as it is in the exact same condition as when I send it to you. The metal top is a raised floral pattern and has no dents. I did my best to clean it but am sure that the buyer will be able to do a much better job. ... moreAs for the hallmark, I am positive that there is a lion facing the left, a shield and another symbol on the end but I can't make it out. The shield looks like it has 3 identical shapes inside it and the rectangle next to the shield also has a shape inside. There is another mark before the lion and I think that is the maker's mark.possibly J.T. or J.J. My eyes aren't what they used to be and I even used a magnifier. I'm pretty sure that the ground glass stopper is the original one and it is in excellent condition and fits beautifully. The hinged top and collar have no dents. Cracks or repairs and the hinge works perfectly. It clicks when you close it. This lovely bottle measures approximately 4 1/2" tall and 11" in circumference. When held to the light, I noticed a couple of small spots on the bottom and one on a clear panel but think that they are manufacturer flaws.they do not have a rough feel at all but I did want to mention it. Antique Cut Glass Sterling Top Perfume Bottle with red stone center
8 photos posted. Pretty antique lay down(or stand up) perfume bottle. The glass vial is cut in a rib pattern bordered by a cross hatch design at the bottom and the top. The glass is in excellent antique condition showing only a faint trace of fogging and a tiny nibble on one of the ribs. On a scale of 0 to 10 I'd give it a 9.5 The flip top is marked sterling under the hinge which is in perfect shape. The cap snaps on tightly. It has an octogon shape and a red pointy stone in the center. I assume it is glass. The point is still intact. No chip there. But the inside stopper is lost. The sterling is quite heavy, so there are no dents. It is monogrammed with the initials dM.L. Dimensions: 3 3/8" long and almost 3/4" across. The item comes from a smoke-free home but I have a cat. Item Description While starting bids may vary I ALWAYS POST WITH NO RESERVE! Up for auction is a GREEN GLASS Perfume Bottle with Sterling Silver Overlay and Matching Stopper. The sterling overlay is in a nice Art Nouveau design. No missing sterling overlay to the glass bottle but there is a tiny split in the overlay on the stopper which may represent a small piece missing. It's hard to tell and I never even noticed it until I inspected it closely for selling. There are a couple very small cracks in the neck and one thin hairline in the glass bottle towards the bottom half. Again. Due to the silver overlay it is very hard to see but I did try to photgraph it for you. The bottle does hold water so the hairline is obviously not entirely through the glass and just on the inside as it is smooth on the outside. The sterling overlay is of good ... morethickness and quality. It is also very secure and tight to the bottle. It does have a blank cartouche for engraving- there is no monogram. The stopper is in excellent condition with only a little roughness on the end but no chips or cracks. There are no dings to to the cut glass sides. But the polished bottom has expected scratches. There are VERY tiny contact dings to the sterling cap; what you might expect for an item of this age. This tiny scent bottle is a truly beautiful cobalt blue color in very good condition! It has nicks on the top and a very few tiny nicks to the cut glass edges. Please look at all photo's closely. Overall. It's in really great shape. I believe this scent bottle must be at least 100 years old and probably older. I would not be at all surprised if it were made in the late 1800's but it is NOT marked. The glass is hand cut and the lines are imperfect. The sterling top is in excellent condition with no dents, dings or splits. The cork inside is intact and whole. I can still smell a hint of whatever perfume used to be kept in it. Antique Victorian Cornucopia Perfume Bottle - Cut Glass Sterling
This little perfume bottle has a small loop under the hinge which means that it once dangled from a chatelaine. Now one can string it on a chain or silk chord and wear it as a pendant. The glass part is cut in a pattern of alternating zippers and ribs and apart from a couple of tiny"nibbles" it is free of chips. Cracks or hairlines. The inside stopper is still there and- miracle of miracles- it is not chipped. There is one very small shallow dent in the top of the flip-cap. The hinge is original. The collar at the top is marked sterling. All in all the perfume bottle is in great antique condition. Dimensions: 3 inches long- 5/8" acroos at the widest part The item comes from a smoke-free home but I have a cat. I recycle clean shipping material.

Antique Hinged Perfume Bottle, Sterling Silver and Cut Glass; by Mappin & Webb
This gorgeous Victorian perfume bottle was made by the London silversmiths Mappin and Webb. Most likely in the late 1800's. The top is.925 sterling silver, and the bottle is cut class. It is in very good condition, with just a small amount of wear on the bottom of the glass and some chips on one side of the stopper grip. The metal and hinge are excellent. 3-1/4" tall x 2" diameter I tried to magnify the hallmarks inside the lid and on the outside of the cover. One shows what appears to be the sillouette of the Queen. London, 1909 This beautiful perfume bottle is a fine example of the cameo glass produced by Thomas Webb and Sons in England in the 19th and 20th century. The rounded red body is decorated with finely carved clusters of apple blossoms on branches with leaves. The deep red appears to glow from the inside and provides a beautiful contrast to the opaque white floral decoration. The simple round lid is sterling silver and monogrammed in script with the letters"TMF" ... moreThe lid tapers down to a rounded silver band that fits over the threaded silver mount around the neck of the bottle. The stopper is no longer present. However, the lid works perfectly and the bottle closes securely. Thomas Webb began manufacturing art glass in England in 1837. The firm exhibited their cameo glass at the Paris Exhibition with Tiffany's in 1899 and took the Grand Prize. This exquisite bottle would make a wonderful addition to either a collection of fine art glass or to a collection of perfume bottles. Marked: Hallmarked on the silver band for London. 1909, with the makers' mark for Finnigan's who began production in Manchester in 1875 but opened offices in London in 1903. The Webb glass is not signed, which is typical. Measures: Bottle measures 3 1/2" H x 3" W. Excellent condition: Absolutely no chips cracks. Up for auction is an antique green glass perfume bottle with sterling silver overlay designs. There is no monogram. The stopper is approx. 1.5 inches long. The bottle stands approx. 2.5 inches without the stopper and 3.5 inches with it. On the back of the neck below the rim it is stamped Sterling. I can not find any other marks. There is one very tiny either flaw or chip on the bottom, I really can't tell if it is a flaw in the glass or tiny chip as it is very hard to notice. It is about the size of tiny grain of pepper. RARE Vintage Victorian Spiral Perfume Bottle Sterling Cap Art Glass 10.5 inches
This is a rare and wonderful old Victorian perfume or cologne bottle. The spiral bottle is in excellent condition. The sterling lid has three dings. According to the hallmarks. The bottle was made in London in 1883 by S. Mordan and Co. Lmt. The piece measures 10 1/2 inches from top to bottom. The bottle has no cracks or chips and has ornate detail top to bottom. It stands 6 1/4" tall and the stopper itself is 1 3/4" long by itself. The stopper has patina from age that I did NOT remove or polish to leave it for the buyer to do as they wish. The bottle has leaves cut into it towards the top of the neck with thumbprints in the wider body of the bottle. There is a very small etched 8 inside the rim at the neck of the bottle. A beautiful and very stylish late nineteenth century scent bottle with a globe base and elegant lock neck. All beautifully cut. The glass is a stunning and highly sought-after blue colour graduating to clear at the base of the bottle. The screw-top lid is made from English sterling silver, hallmarked for Birmingham 1896, making this a true Victorian example. The makers mark is also present CM for the silversmith, Charles May. The top of the lid has a vacant circular cartouche which could be engraved by your silversmith if you wished to personalize it. This precious piece is made from black amethyst glass(purple color can be seen in the light) and covered with a Sterling Silver overlay. This bottle is exceptional: It is split down the middle with a glass division. Allowing for two compartments. One compartment is topped by a spring-loaded cap: push the button and the repousse sterling cap"pops" open. Both the mechanism& seal are tight. The second compartment is a screw top. Up for bid is this rare sterling silver overlay perfume bottle. This. I believe was made for an upscale hotel in Little Rock, Arkansas. The person I bought it from could not remember the name of the hotel and the person who sold it to her has past away since and the hotel no longer exists. It is in very good condition except for a very tiny chip at the base of the stopper. The stopper end does have a few rough spots. It measures 3 1/2" tall and about 2" in diameter at the widest part. Antique green glass and sterling silver over lay scent bottle. Condition: there is a dent on the top of the marked sterling silver lid. I can't remove the inner glass stopper and there is perfume or salts residue on the inside of the bottle. There are nicks on the glass stopper and on the edge of the top of the bottle. You may be able to get the stopper out. I have soaked it in hot water with no results. The lid screws on and off nicely with no problems. It is a heavy little thing, super shiny and displays VERY nicely. Please view all photo's and enlarge them. This piece measures 2-3/16" tall with lid in place and is 1-1/16" in diameter. Antique 3.5" Clear Glass Perfume Bottle with Sterling Silver Overlay
This listing is for an antique sterling silver overlay perfume bottle. It measures just a little over 3.5" tall and 2.5" at the widest point. The stopper also has the overlay. Part of the marking is worn off. But it looks like it says: Fine Silver 999 1000. Two of the nines and the F are worn off. The bottom of the bottle is etched with the number 167. The silver has light scratches, and the stopper has a few very tiny chips. Overall, nice condition.

Antique, RARE Ruby Red Glass Victorian Perfume Bottle with Sterling Silver
Beautiful. Rare and elegant, with faceted glass and ornate repousse silver hinged flip top lid. Glass is hand-blown and a rich ruby red found in decorative glass pieces of the Victorian era. These bottles first appeared in the late 1700's, but it wasn't until the mid-1800's that they were in general use. Their popularity waned during the late 1800's, but they continued to be made until the turn of the century. This item is in excellent condition, the silver carved hinge lid in perfect working order, with only a slight unevenness to the silver caused by opening and closing the lid and a slight patina to the silver. The faceted glass has a few nicks, but overall, it is in perfect shape. The bottle may have been worn around a lady's neck, as was the style of the age. Generally, a customer purchased the perfume bottle empty ... moreand had it filled by a chemist or perfumier, as ready-filled bottles of perfume were not yet on the market. This one contains a remnant of the owners' original perfume content, now a dried out solid. Excellent, low price for high value, rare piece- check out similar items being sold on the web. Bottle measures approx. 2 3/8" tall by 1 1/4" wide at its widest part. Silver clasp top is approx. 7/8 of an inch in diameter.
