Antique Art Glass Metal Floral Perfume Atomizer Bottle THORENS Music Box Plays!
Up for your consideration is this beautiful perfume atomizer set atop a Thorens music box base. This is in wonderful antique condition and retains most of the gilding. The open metalwork features a vine and floral pattern surrounding the perfume bottle. The windup music box plays smooth and features a switch on the base which is supposed to turn off the music when the base is set down, this switch needs adjustment as it must be pushed up slightly higher then the legs allow. The atomizer bulb is disintegrated from age within the mesh cover and hangs limp until a new one can be installed by the buyer if they so desire. Up for auction is a very unique antique/ vintage metal and glass perfume atomizer with a Thorens music box. There is no perfume in the bottle and the ball atomizer has hardened from age. There are no chips or cracks and is in very good condition. It measures 4 ½’ tall and about 3” wide. It also has a great metal floral design going around the perfume bottle and because it has the Thorens music box attached it is possible this is Swiss in origin. Unknown Function Antique Metal and Glass Container or Perfume Holder Vinginete
I am uncertain of the function of this piece- it could be made to hold a narrow pair of glasses. Sewing items; it could be a vinagrette to hold scented fabric for the time when street functioned as sewers. The piece is a glass tube that could also hold a fat cigar for after dinner. The long glass tube is about 4" long, overall about 6" long from tip to tip. The ends open and closes with a metal clasp, it has a folded metal slip holder and a double eyelet holder for a chain to be attatched. The metal is all base metal, there is no corrosion or pitting, the meal is in good condition, no losses no damage.
