Antique Victorian Ruby Cased Crystal Perfume Bottle
For your consideration is what I believe to be a Victorian era antique ruby red cased crystal perfume bottle. Approx 6.75 inches tall. It is in beautiful condition with a few scratches on bottom and flea nics which only show when you pick the piece up and turn it over. This is sold as found. As is and does not have a lid or atomizer. The detailing is gorgeous with what appears to be hand cut stars and a diamond like floral or cross pattern around the piece. The inside of the bottle looks like a white glass. The metal top looks as if it could be a worn gold wash with tarnish and wear This metal top is firmly attached and does not unscrew which makes me think it had an atomizer and/or cap at one time. There are some tiny nicks on the perimeter of the base. Signs of wear to the gold finish. Antique, RARE Ruby Red Glass Victorian Perfume Bottle with Sterling Silver
Beautiful. Rare and elegant, with faceted glass and ornate repousse silver hinged flip top lid. Glass is hand-blown and a rich ruby red found in decorative glass pieces of the Victorian era. These bottles first appeared in the late 1700's, but it wasn't until the mid-1800's that they were in general use. Their popularity waned during the late 1800's, but they continued to be made until the turn of the century. This item is in excellent condition, the silver carved hinge lid in perfect working order, with only a slight unevenness to the silver caused by opening and closing the lid and a slight patina to the silver. The faceted glass has a few nicks, but overall, it is in perfect shape. The bottle may have been worn around a lady's neck, as was the style of the age. Generally, a customer purchased the perfume bottle empty ... moreand had it filled by a chemist or perfumier, as ready-filled bottles of perfume were not yet on the market. This one contains a remnant of the owners' original perfume content, now a dried out solid. Excellent, low price for high value, rare piece- check out similar items being sold on the web. Up for your consideration is this fabulous. Beautiful,rare, 19th century, probably French red glass perfume bottle. Made of thick ruby red glass, the bottle is mounted inside elaborate bronze base and bottle neck with handles. Bronze have beautiful relief of vine leafs and grapes all around the bottle neck and on the bottom plate with bronze cut in shape of grape leafs. The stopper is tall, 6 panels cut,with frosted dauber which is marked on the bottom in red with number 93. The perfume bottle is in mint condition for it's age, there are 2 imperfections on glass,one near the neck,tiny cut in hot glass and pin head burst air bubble near the bottom. 19th century ruby glass perfume bottle with stopper
This gorgeous. Octagonal perfume is a deep, pigeon's blood ruby red cased glass with stopper. Ruby glass is made by adding gold to molten glass. The deeper the color, the higher the gold content. Because of the high cost of gold, ruby glass pieces have always been made in smaller, craft quantities. This particular bottle is cased in ruby. If you were this old. You might have a defect or two. The third photo shows a flea bite on one of the edges. There is also a small scuff mark at the top of one of the vertical panels that will not photograph, even under a macro lens. It is noticeable upon close examination, but does not go anywhere near through the ruby flashing. No attempts were made to polish this out. Stopper has a V carved at the apex- this is not a defect. This nice bottle has brilliant dark ruby coloration in the glass with unusual tapered triangular panel cut body. Measures 4 1/8" long and 1" in diameter. Embossed sterling silver mounts with one end having a flip top and the other a screw-on top. Although we found no marks on the silver. It is guaranteed to be Sterling Silver. The flip top end is missing the small internal glass stopper. The screw-on end is complete with cork inside top for good sealing. The hinge is in good condition and closes tightly. The glass body is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Minor dings on edge of tops(see photos) no other noted flaws. Antique English Double Ended Ruby Red Perfume Bottle - Victorian Sterling Silver
A really pretty and charming perfume or scent bottle in a fabulous rich ruby red colour. This is a slightly more unusual example of a Victorian double ended bottle. This one having a cylindrical form rather than the more often seen faceted type. The lids too are a little more unusual, again made from sterling(unmarked as most of these bottles were not) silver with a pretty floral embossed decoration. One end is hinged, with the little glass stopper intact and the other end is a screw-top with the cork to the inside of the lid to keep the liquid from evaporation. Sparkling glass with magnificent cut panels, octagonal foot with six star point in ruby and corresponding lip with lines of red leading up to the opening. The body is just amazing with all of the beautifully aligned cuts, curved inward panels and ruby red outlines. The condition of the piece is very. Very nice although missing the stopper. There are only a few chips and nicks noted in the photos, and I would say nothing major. There are some residue marks inside the neck. And you can smell residual perfume inside. VICTORIAN DOUBLE-ENDED PERFUME/SCENT BOTTLE.RUBY RED,STERLING Here is a Victorian era double-ended perfume or scent bottle. The silver cap on one end is threaded and screws off. The other end has an etched silver has a hinge. The hinge needs repair but the cap fits the bottle snugly. There are some dings in both caps. The glass bottle is cranberry. Ruby red, faceted cut and in good condition, with small flea bites and scratches. The silver caps are both etched, not marked. The length is about 5 inches. Please ask if there are any questions. Ruby Red Cased Glass Perfume Bottle, Crystal Stopper w Scent Dauber, Large, Rare
This listing is for a stunning Antique- Vintage Ruby Red Cased in Crystal Perfume Bottle with the Original Crystal Stopper and Scent Dauber. The bottle has an Art Deco shape with a broad base and arched panels. The piece has a red glass interior cased in crystal. The crystal casing is most apparent at the bottom and top rim. But is also visible on the edges from the proper angle. The base is ground flat and highly polished. The neck is ground and etched to fit the glass stopper. The stopper top is polished crystal with three rows of six panels. The crystal is amazing creating a prism effect with sunlight. The scent dauber is attached on the interior of the stopper with a white material. We've not seen this method of attaching the rod and are unsure what material is holding it in place. The dauber is very secure but does have slight wiggle ... morewith proper force. We've never seen this bottle style before with such stunning color. Quality, clarity and craftsmanship. The crystal portion glows slightly green under UV light. The red glows a bright orange. We'd guess the piece dates to the early 1900's due to the style, but could certainly be older. The quality, clarity and craftsmanship of the piece is indicative of French or Bohemian glass of the period, though there were artisans in America, England, Italy and others using similar techniques during the suspected period of production. The bottle measures 4 1/2" by 2 1/4" at the base. And 4 1/8" high without the stopper. The dauber measures 2 7/8" long. The stopper 6 1/4" from the rod to tip and 2 1/4" high when in place. With the stopper in place the bottle measures nearly 6 1/2" high and weighs 1 lb 2.1 oz. The stopper and dauber are in pristine condition with no cracks or chips. The grinding process on the stopper where it makes contact with the bottle is excellent with slight unevenness along the top edge. The crystal is impeccably clear. Minus the etched stopper portion of course. The dauber is fantastic and complete.

Item Description While starting bids may vary I ALWAYS POST WITH NO RESERVE! Up for auction is a Ruby Red Perfume Bottle with Atomizer. It has alternating blue. Orange and white designs all around the bottle. The atomizer is silver tone and could use a little polish/cleaning. The bulb is original and it has hardened with age. The internal metal syphon tube is intact. There are no chips, cracks or repairs. I do note some light scratches and dings to the metal collar. There is a gold accent line around the top part of the bottle and at the base and there is a bit of thinning to the gold. Everything I see is normal wear for it's age and nothing out of the ordinary. It is 4 1/4 inches tall to the top of the metal atomizer. To the top of the bulb it is 5 inches tall. It is about 4 inches in diameter through the widest part.
