Stars in pewter are on three ... moresides of the bottles. Ground frosted glass on the stopper and inside the neck. Both stoppers have a pewter color glass trim and the same on the top of the bottles. The bottles are the same size but one has a larger neck and stopper. There is a small chip on the frosted edge of the large stopper. The small stopper has a small(hardly visible) chip on the side and you can see that the pewter goes all the way through. Not painted on. They are 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" and 4-1/2" tall. I believe this is pressed or poured glass as I can see two seams starting on the necks of the bottle. This decorative refillable perfume bottle has been in my family for years and has been put aside until now. It has never been used. It is at least 50 years old or more. I do not believe that the Valve Corporation of America is any longer in business. It has instructions on the reverse side of the box so you can fill it yourself. In ... moreall my years of dealing I have never seen another like this and when trying to do a bit of reasearch on it I found a Perfume Bottle in Antique Trader Perfume Bottles Price Guide with a value of $4000-$5000 with the same T&B Austria Paper Label. The Box features very thick Black Glass with what I believe is Carved Stone but maybe Glass made to look like Stone as well as what appears to be Carved Jade Stone feet. The Box is very elegant and exudes quality. Much more impressive than my photos show. The Box is in very good condition with a couple small chips to the lid and one crack to the Green"Stone" accents. The Box is also a great size for use or display measuring 4-3/4" long by 3-3/4" wide and sits 2-3/4" tall. I was not able to find out anything about the Maker, T&B Austria but it is certainly worth looking into them. You are looking at a version of the Jeanne Lanvin Arpege black glass display bottle. It is a large bottle-between 6-1/2 and 7 inches(17-18 cm) tall and with a circumference of 17 inches(43.5 cm) The top. Or stopper, is permanently attached. On the bottom of the bottle is a small paper label that reads"Fractice, which translates to"dummy" in English, a reference to its purpose as a display/advertisement bottle. There are three small lines in 2 places where the bowl meets the lip-I don't know if these marks are original to the piece or flaws. They look original to me because of their uniformity. But I am no expert. Please examine the photos carefully. The only other age- or use-related flaw is some wear to the gold, most noticeably in the mother figure's skirt and around the child's head. Otherwise, this unusual and ... morebeautiful perfume bottle is in very, very good condition. A little history: The mother and child figures on this bottle were designed to honor the French fashion designer Jeanne Lanvin(1867-1946) and her daughter. Marguerite"Marie Blanche. Lanvin founded a fashion house and perfume company, which employed designers and perfumers. The perfume Arpege was introduced around 1927. The round la Boule perfume bottle was designed by Arman-Albert Rateau. Paul Iribe designed the famous gold image of Madame Lanvin and her daughter that appears on the Arpege perfume bottles as well as other Lanvin products to this day. This is a newer Irice bottle and it does have the Irice stamp on the bottom. Both the atomizer and bottle are in excellent condition and all intact. The glass bottle has no chips. Cracks or repairs. It is also very clean inside and out. The plastic syphon tube is intact and the black bulb is new. When the bulb is squeezed I do feel strong puffs of air come out so it appears to be in working condition but I have not tested it with liquid. With the atomizer in place, it is about 4 3/4 inches tall to the top of the atomizer. It is approx 3 inches across at the widest part which is up near the top. stunning vintage black glass perfume atomizer bottle w/golden top
The blue is so dark. It has to be under bright lights to tell there's a blue tint; in aout of direct light, this great perfume appears black. The golden colored top is embossed with floral trim, and very elegant. It is 6 1/2" tall, with glass extending up 4 5/8" to lovely top. It is not cleaned, but has no chips, cracks, or repairs. See condition of braided hose; puffy ball squeezes and air comes out as planned; the cord is simply pulled out of brass fitting, and hose is still attached. Truly fine looking piece of glass and metal. With no makers name I don't know much about it, but I figure it's in that 1900-1940 age bracket.
