It was struck at the Oaxaca Mint and dated 1872 during the last year of the Presidency of Benito Juárez. He was the leader. Coincidentally from Oaxaca, that expelled the French from Mexico. He died July 18, 1872 from a Heart Attack while reading a newspaper at his desk in the National Palace in Mexico City. He was succeeded by Sebastián Lerdo de Tejada, his foreign minister. Old. Vintage cut crystal perfume bottle with sterling silver stopper with ornate engraved monogram. I believe the monogram is AMC. Marked sterling around the lower edge. Glass is a little cloudy. I have not cleaned this. Will probably be a little clearer and brighter with a cleaning. There is a very tiny nick on the edge of the glass lip.
