They rest inside a silverplate holder with bamboo handle and a figural lizard on either end. The holder is marked MFD& PLATED BY REED& BARTON. Along with the number 926. They date from the 19th Century and measure approximately 3 + ½ inches tall by 1 + 7/8 inches across at their widest. Antique Vintage Painted Flowers Salt & Pepper set White Milk Glass
He is a pair of Antique/ Vintage Hand painted Flowers Salt and Pepper Shakers White Milk Glass. I found these at an estate sale. I do not know the maker of these nor the age. But I do know that they are old. The flowers on these appear to be hand painted. They also have gold paint which a lot of it is worn off. These have the lids but one is dented and the other is broke and the silver has lost it's coloring. Please see pictures. These measure 3-5/8" tall. There does not appear to be any chips or cracks in the body of these but the tips on the top of the shakers appear worn not sure if they are chips. These are great collectibles. But you can see a type of honeycomb design in the glass. There are white and yellow flowers hand painted on the outside of the shaker. It has a metal piece around the top and the lid screws into that. The metal piece is secured to the glass. Condition: This item is in fair to good condition. There is a hairline crack on the base. At least I think it is a crack. It could be from the mold too. I am not sure. I can run my fingernail into the crack. I don't think it goes all the way through to the inside ... morethough. Sweet adorable antique vintage hand painted milk glass salt and pepper shakers. They are a creamy white in color. Pale green towards the base, with delicate hand painted flowers. They are in good condition with no cracks, chips or breaks. If you take off the tops the rim is somewhat rough. This is typical with shakers from this era since they were snapped off the pontil rod when finished. The hand painted flowers do show some paint loss in certain areas. The tops are I believe pewter/metal and do appear to be the original. They do show some wear consistent with their age(pitting, one has a little dent, see picture with arrow on it) All and all, these lovely shakers are in great condition for their age. Beautiful Victorian glass shaker by Consolidated Lamp& Glass Company in the very scarce pattern Vine Border. Circa 1894- 1899. It is a four sided paneled shaker with each panel outlined with vines. Two panels have an embossed flower decoration, the other two have a pebbly-like finish. The light blue color is gorgeous! It measures approximately 3" tall including the lid.
