A pull off top or lid with a central finial fits right on the metal rim. The lid is marked EPNS(Electro Plated Nickel Silver) and has many relatively large holes of various shapes(circular, diamond, and commas) The bottom of the shaker is transparent and has been ground to a nice smooth finish. Muffineers(also called sugar casters or sugar shakers) were a regular part of a well-set table. The muffineer would be filled with super fine"caster sugar, for sprinkling over any food in need of sweetening. Date: Mid 1800s Origin: Probably continental. With no breaks, cracks, or repairs. There are a few minor and small chips or losses to the glass at the edges of the base. The glass has several small air bubbles throughout and its surface has several small and difficult to see scratches. However, all of these are difficult to see and do not compromise the quality or beauty of the piece. The lid is also in very good condition having nothing more than one or two minor dings and scratches, having four small breaks at the edge of the lid, and some losses of the plating all of which can be seen in the photos. We have just received a number of Antique Shakers that we are presenting for your pleasure. Please search on"Shaker" in our store to see what is still available. We do try to combine, Thanks. We were informed that this Victorian Shaker was made by Gillinder and Sons. Victorians loved their sweets and would liberally sprinkle their muffins with sugar and these large shakers were refered to as Muffineers- today. They are a lot smaller and are just called ... moreshakers. Muffineers were a large part of the Victorian tableware pieces. Many of which seem foreign to us today. Many were quite nice and are now fun to collect. We offer this opaque white. Mold-blown glass Muffineer/ Shaker. The patrtern is called"Beaded Twist" and consists of nine swirling, twisting rounded vertical ribs, separated by graduated beading. It measures about 4" high and about 3" across the bottom. It has a metal lid with a 6-point star pattern for the holes that we believe is pewter(is not attracted by a magnet) In very good antique condition- no chips or cracks to the glass- some roughness to the inner top rim. Common to these old ones- nothing major here- the top looks original and shows some flaking as you can see in the pictures. It screws on/ off nicely and tightens securely- the pewter is aged and could use a cleaning- we did not try to clean or polish this item in any. It displays quite nicely and will be a wonderful addition to your collec

Offered is a rare hand blown reverse amberina muffineer or sugar shaker. According to a local antique appraiser. It is possibly Canadian from the 1950’s. It measures 4 ½” tall and 3 ½” at the widest area. Glass is difficult to photograph. So we apologize for the flash marks and reflections. There may appear to be duplicate pictures. But actually we were photographing it from all sides to get an accurate representation of its condition- which is beautiful! This would be an elegant piece to add to someone's collection. It has what I always thought was a telltale sign of hand blown glass having the little rough feeling indention circle on the bottom of the shaker. When I run my finger on the inside of the glass. Cranberry glass MUFFINEER sugar cinnamon shaker EPNS Victorian late 1800s NICE!
Please examine photos. They are THIS item and are part of the description. I do not use stock photos or photos of other people’s items. This is a nice vintage muffineer in cranberry glass very popular at the turn of the last century. It was blown in mold with 12 panel sides and has a ground polished base. The base is 55m and the total height is 140mm. The top is marked E.P.N.S. for electroplated nickel silver but any plating has long since worn away. The knob on the top is solid but slightly cocked. I see many of these actually missing this knob. It fits snugly on the metal rim capping the glass bottle. There is one 3mm chip on one edge of a flute. There are some minor"flea bite" chips when I run my finger around the bottom edge. A traditional"muffineer" is for sprinkling sugar or cinnamon on things like. Muffins. And ... morethere you have it. Retail antique dealers are offering these for $145 to $175. I see similar examples have SOLD on e-bay for $65 to $85. I am also offering this with: FREE TRACKING. I do not know how old this shaker is. I think it is probably 1920's or 30's. It is cut glass crystal sugar swith sterling silver top and sterling silver, reinforced with cement(weighted) base. It is 6" high. There are no chips, no cracks in the glass. Silver top could use a good polishing. I put sugar into it to see how well it sprinkled and it works well.

Offered for sale is this antique pattern glass sugar shaker or muffineer. It was made about 1894 in the Hobbs. Brockunier& Company factory. The pattern is"Polka Dot" or Inverted Thumbprint. The color is rubina. The ring neck shaker measures 5 1/2" high and about 3" across. The condition is very good with no damage or repairs found. Cut Glass Crystal Salt Shaker or Sugar or Cheese Shaker Size: 5.25” high. 2.25” diameter. This is a beautiful piece of cut crystal. I don’t know anything about it. Other than that it has been in my family for a very long time. My best guess would be 1930s or before. It has some issues: It rocks a little. But is not unstable. The vertical ribs running up the sides have some roughness. There is a chip on one of the diamond cut shapes and a chip in the top rim which is covered up by the shaker top. Gold washed, silverplate, pressure fit top. Measures: 6" tall to the tip of the finial. 1.75" wide base, 2.5" wide overall Maker. ANTIQUE SQUARE PRESSED GLASS SUGAR SHAKER WITH SILVER ? TOP
Up for bid is a very old pressed glass sugar shaker. It is square and has the same design on all 4 sides. The top could be silver plate, but there are no marks. It has an etched makers mark on the bottom, but I was not able to make it out. It stands 6 1/2" tall and has no major chips or cracks. The bottom is a little rough with use scratches and flea bites and under a black light, is shows a very pale green. Beautiful addition to your collection. It is a paneled cut glass with 12 sides and a nice ground bottom. The domed cap is silver plate with fancy pierced cutouts for the sugar to pass thru. Color is a wonderful cranberry red shade. And condition is super nice, one tiny flea bite on the bottom found on very close inspection. It stands about 6 inches tall with the cap in place, and cap fits well and stays in place. Or muffineer, in deep cranberry red. The lid is a pierced silver plate with minor signs of age. The glass is 12 panel, with a bulbous shaped base. There are some tiny flea bites on inner screw threads of the glass seen only with lid off and common to this type of antique screw top glass shaker.
