Lovely Antique Art Deco Hand Cut Glass Salt and Pepper Shakers
A very pretty set of Antique Art Deco Cut Glass Salt and Pepper Shakers. Measure 4 3/4 inches tall. The bases are 4 sided with a slight pyramid shape and a deeply cut design. In very good antique condition. With no cracks. There is one small chip on the bottom edge of one shaker. And two small chips on the bottom edge of the other- please see photos for details. There are a few bubbles in the old glass. But it remains very clear. There is one bubble right on the surface of one shaker. And slight variations in the hand cuts from one shaker to the other. The lids have neat finials on top. And both do have some corrosion-please note in photos. As well. The lids are chrome plated. A very attractive set and a great addition to your collection. I have for auction this beautiful pair of antique glass salt& pepper shakers. They remain in lovely condition with the original lids; the lids are slightly dented& tarnished but overall condition is great. The glass is opaque but has a slight opalescence when light shines through. Delicate hand painted floral motif on each piece. The lid of the pepper unscrews properly. This is a very old salt and pepper set. The set is lead crystal glass it has a cut zipper design as well as hand designed double diamond. The glass was hand blown with pontil rod nub where it was cut off. the top of one jar was not finished and is rough The tops appear to be copper. Or may have been gold plated copper. They are corroded, particularly the big holes top. It was also smashed in top with a tear in the metal. These caps are very soft metal The jars are 3 1/2" tall. 1 1/2" at bottom. Glass is very nice. But each jar is slightly different, double diamonds, so it was made by hand.very early, I do not know age but I would think 1830-1850's I have other old salt and pepper set. But you can see a type of honeycomb design in the glass. There are white and yellow flowers hand painted on the outside of the shaker. It has a metal piece around the top and the lid screws into that. The metal piece is secured to the glass. Condition: This item is in fair to good condition. There is a hairline crack on the base. At least I think it is a crack. It could be from the mold too. I am not sure. I can run my fingernail into the crack. I don't think it goes all the way through to the inside ... morethough. Sweet adorable antique vintage hand painted milk glass salt and pepper shakers. They are a creamy white in color. Pale green towards the base, with delicate hand painted flowers. They are in good condition with no cracks, chips or breaks. If you take off the tops the rim is somewhat rough. This is typical with shakers from this era since they were snapped off the pontil rod when finished. The hand painted flowers do show some paint loss in certain areas. The tops are I believe pewter/metal and do appear to be the original. They do show some wear consistent with their age(pitting, one has a little dent, see picture with arrow on it) All and all, these lovely shakers are in great condition for their age. Here are 2 original Hand Painted Victorian Salt& Pepper Shakers. I do not believe these are a matching pair even though I found them that way. There are of the same era. Interesting Birds and what appears to be a Lemon Tree. Thank you for your interest.

I've acquired a small grouping of Antique glass Tumblers and some Salt Shakers- someone's Favorite Things! Be sure to take a look! I'm guessing that this might be Mt. Washington glass- this lovely shaker has been carefully hand painted and measures approx. 3-3/4" at tallest and 1-1/2" diameter.
