There is six bulging lobes around the circumference. The shaker. Which is colored in opaque light blue or turquoise, has a raised motif of intricate scroll on the entire body. This web like motif completely covers the entire shaker. The design or pattern is raised and is really very nicely done. The shaker has a screw on metal top and a footed based with a recessed center. Glass is excellent, with some roughness under the lid, which verifies the authenticity of this old piece, due to the manufacturing process of the time. Pair Antique Victorian Opaque Blue Salt & Pepper Shakers w/Original Lids
Up for auction is a pair of antique Victorian blue opaque salt and pepper shakers with the original lids. They have a raised scroll leaf design. I don't know the name of the pattern. The salt shaker has wear rubs on some of the high points on the scrolls. Both shakers have some chippage around their rims. The lids have turned dark with age and the salt shaker has some salt residue in the holes. There are no dents. Bends or breaks in the metal lids. There were no other problems. The shakers stand 3" high with the lids on and measure about 2 1/2" across at their widest points. These old Victorian pieces were not marked. This is a nice pair. 0237H0099
