They are in good condition- one shaker has a small chip on a corner of the foot rim. Negligible pinpricks and fleabites throughout the base rims of both shakers. One shaker is faintly cloudy inside. One metal lid is bright and shiny with minimal wear to the plated finish, the other has corrosion, rust and green oxidation. Please review the images. Lovely Antique Art Deco Hand Cut Glass Salt and Pepper Shakers
A very pretty set of Antique Art Deco Cut Glass Salt and Pepper Shakers. Measure 4 3/4 inches tall. The bases are 4 sided with a slight pyramid shape and a deeply cut design. In very good antique condition. With no cracks. There is one small chip on the bottom edge of one shaker. And two small chips on the bottom edge of the other- please see photos for details. There are a few bubbles in the old glass. But it remains very clear. There is one bubble right on the surface of one shaker. And slight variations in the hand cuts from one shaker to the other. The lids have neat finials on top. And both do have some corrosion-please note in photos. As well. The lids are chrome plated. A very attractive set and a great addition to your collection. Vintage Tall Salt & Pepper Shakers Clear Pressed Glass Unusual "Tower" Art Deco
These vintage. Pressed glass salt& pepper shakers have a distinctive and different sculptural Art Deco shape and are tall(called"tower" design) at 6 1/4 inches. At that scale, they were probably designed for a larger table, set for eight or more. The glass pattern, vertical ribs with indents running horizontally, plays up the shine and dazzle. See the close-up photos. They are like small sparkly sculptures that don't need a dinner party to be shown off. The glass is a"warm" shade. Rather than bluish, and therefore these look beautiful with oak and vintage linens, such as ecru crocheted tablecloths. These shakers have a heavy base making them feel substantial in your hand. They are stylish and have a presence on a table. I always got comments on them. The caps appear to be copper overlaid with silver. And the salt ... morecap does have some slight bluish tinge on the interior and a little around the holes; the copper is visible in a thin line around the bottom edge. I have used them for years and did not notice it until I was photographing them. There are some slight scratches on the interior of the salt cap. Here is a Wonderful set of Antique Glass Salt and Pepper shakers with the Original Zinc lids. A Antique blue and black Slag Glass Swan, and a Antique Opalescent Tooth Pick Holder. That's right you get all four pieces for One price. The Salt and Pepper shakers have the original Zinc lids. And are from the 1880s. They were blown into molds and the tops were ground down leaving the normal manufacturer flea bites. The Perfect his and hers set. Challinor, Taylor& Co 2 1/2" wide x 2 3/4" tall. The Rare Pattern Slag Glass Swan is from the 1880s and is in perfect shape. There is a drip spot on the edge of the lid shown in photos. It is very normal to see this manufacturing flaw with all slag glass. Challinor. Taylor& Co 6" wide x 6" tall. The Opalescent Tooth Pick Holder is from 1890 to 1920. There is a small chip ... moreat the shoe of the figure. Due to the crude early manufacturing process a lot of these chips are from the factory. This listing is for a gorgeous Tiffany"Favrile" gold iridescent Art Glass Salt Cellar. C. 1910. This beautiful Favrile salt cellar has a gracefully scalloped upper edge and faint ribbed design. The vibrant gold iridescent glass body is stunning with highlights of purple. Blue and green iridescence and features a blue/purple upper edge. The glass has more gold iridescence on the exterior and more blue iridescence in the interior. M arked with etched signature"L. C. T. on base. T he condition is excellent with no chips. Cracks or repairs. This lovely salt is pictured on page 22, Illustration#42 of the book The Open Salt Compendium" by Sandra Jzyk& Nina Robertson. Measures 2 1/2 in diameter. or 6.35 cm"Favrile" glass was patented by Louis Comfort Tiffany in 1894 and along with Frederick Carder's"Aurene" ... moreglass made for Steuben. This glass set the highest standard for iridescent glass at the turn of the 20th century.
