This large twelve inch diameter dish or charger, is a rare size that I am happy to offer here on eBay. This rare charger is very attractive with a sharply molded embossed design on the front with a basketweave design to the surface. It is getting more and more difficult to find this early salt glaze pottery from the eighteenth century as it is brittle and does not survive 275+ years very well. This example is in As Found condition as it was broken in half and is nicely mended with glue, so that the repair is barely visible from the front. An outstanding feature is that it was made in 1785 and is approximately 228 years old! The English silversmith hallmarks along the bottom edge spell out its unique history. Maker's Mark: Bold initials"RH" in an oval escutcheon. Granted in 1783 to the maker, Robert Hennell Silver Mark: Lion Passant- sterling silver content.925 Date Letter: Small letter"k" in a shield-like escutcheon. Equals 1785 date of assay in London City Mark: crowned leopard's head" means London was place of manufacture Duty Mark: left facing profile of George III" from Dec 1784 to May 1786 indicated duty was paid The piece stands about 2 inches high on 4 ball and claw feet. It is 3 1/4 inches long by 2 1/4 inches wide. The entire salt cellar weighs approximately 6 ounces. With the silver frame at 2 ounces and the glass insert at 4 ounces. The silver frame has beautiful lattice work along the upper perimeter. Topped off by an elegant edge trim. Along the sides, is the graceful engraving into the silver of a garland of roses, intertwined with a ribbon. Also, one side is engraved a capital letter"B" and the other side has a design resembling a clock face. There was no indication of any defects or scratches on the silver frame. The cobalt blue insert. Has an amazing color, especially when held up to sunlight or other bright light. At the bottom of the insert is an etching of an eight pointed star. This refracts the light passing through, enhancing its beauty. There is a 3/4 inch imperfection and a small chip on the bottom outside edge of the insert. NY) Measurements: 11 1/4" tall. 11 1/2" in diameter at the top. Base 11" in diameter. Floral decoration is about 5" wide X 6" tall. The blue floral decoration has dots and circles. Condition: This crock is being sold AS IS. This is a solid crock but it has issues. Large Blue decoration has excellent dark cobalt blue color but has a chip at the top branch. Shown in picture 2. There is a large chip at the rim above the ear handle, picture 8. The same ear handle has a chip underneath the handle, shown in the same picture. On the outside, there is a spider hairline that starts on the bottom and runs up the side, see close-up picture in picture 5, 10& 11. I would not trust this crock to hold water. There is one small chip in the dark brown glaze on the inside, last picture. Picture 5 shows a raised dark spot on the outside which appears to be from the manufacturing process. See all pictures. The large blue flower decoration has excellent dark cobalt blue color. This collectible crock is great to use in a decorative decor. Please check out my other auctions for more vintage items.

This is from my deceased mother's prized silver collection. Which I am now selling from her estate because I have no use for these types of fine silver pieces. As indicated in the photo of the silver proof marks. This set was hand crafted by Tiffany from sterling silver(925- 1000) The proof mark in the photo reads"Tiffany and Co. and underneath read the numbers"20557 Makers 2401. Underneath is the word"Sterling" then"925-1000" Underneath is the number"11" and what looks to be an"M" According to my research on a reputable online silver proof mark reference guide. 925-1000.com. The above proof mark on this set corresponds to Tiffany silver produced between 1907 and 1947, under the directorship of John C. Moore II. Further, the number 20557 corresponds to a Tiffany piece manufactured in 1925 or 1926. The above correlates with my personal knowledge of the set's history in my family. My mother was born in 1937 and I understand that she inherited this set herself. Therefore I can safely estimate the set to be approximately 86-87 years old. The pepper shaker is approximately 2-3/8" tall and 1-1/4" wide(at widest point) These appear to be monogrammed with what looks like an"EL" But I am not sure what it means. The 2 salt cellars each measure 1-3/8" in circumference and 3/4" high. They are in equally excellent condition. Monogrammed also, and have similar proof marks as indicated in the photos. Also I have located both matching spoons for the salt cellars. Which are both likewise sterling silver and in perfect condition. Only one of the spoons is pictured since I found the other spoon after I took the photos. All pieces of course are showing only very minimal signs of use or handling with no cracks. Dents or repairs. Lg Antique S&P Set Milk Glass White Circa 1900's Salt & Pepper Serving Set
This listing is for a large set of heavy. Antique salt and pepper sets in milk glass or white glass. They are from the early 1900's. They stand about 5 and 1/4 inches tall. The glass is in excellent used condition but the lids have a lot of pitting and ozidizing on them. I do not think they are silver. I do not know the maker's name but they remind of the very old glass patterns like were produced by"Dithridge" at the turn of the century.

Lovely Antique Art Deco Hand Cut Glass Salt and Pepper Shakers
A very pretty set of Antique Art Deco Cut Glass Salt and Pepper Shakers. Measure 4 3/4 inches tall. The bases are 4 sided with a slight pyramid shape and a deeply cut design. In very good antique condition. With no cracks. There is one small chip on the bottom edge of one shaker. And two small chips on the bottom edge of the other- please see photos for details. There are a few bubbles in the old glass. But it remains very clear. There is one bubble right on the surface of one shaker. And slight variations in the hand cuts from one shaker to the other. The lids have neat finials on top. And both do have some corrosion-please note in photos. As well. The lids are chrome plated. A very attractive set and a great addition to your collection. The first set is an antique Art Deco Depression glass salt and pepper shakers in a beautiful shade of pink. Done in a rippled design; in fantastic condition with no chips or cracks; the lids are a white Bakelite. The second pair is even older. Dating from around the 1900's, done to look like a vegatable although I'm not sure which one, maybe a tomato. They're in fantastic condition especially considering their age with no defects. The last is just one shaker and is really old. Dating from before 1900, done in an Oriental design. Great 1800's Victorian Blue Custard Milk Glass Salt Shaker. This wonderful shaker measures 3 1/4" in height and 2 1/2" at its widest point at the base. I was told it was Northwood but not sure. It has a dainty flower with scroll work pattern and tiny little beading throughout the piece. Not sure if the top is original but it is what was on it when purchased. It is in wonderful condition for its age with only one tiny little flee bite to the base which I could not photograph well. There is some nicks to the glass cap as can be seen in the photo but the blue glass is nice! A must have for any collection! Thanks for looking and happy bidding!

Because of this, she carried a huge needlepoint satchel which was full of everything she thought she might need(including a can of cat food in case she saw a stray! and this always included something for me. Whenever I saw her, she would open the satchel and take out this gift. She gave me all sorts of vintage treasures that were: ~ old. New or in between ~ valuable or invaluable ~ important or just plain silly ~ useful or useless ~ memorable or forgettable Whatever the gift. It was chosen with her intriguing sense of style and flair! I try to offer you things she might have surprised me with while we had tea in my parlor!
