The glass is opaque but has a slight opalescence when light shines through. Delicate hand painted floral motif on each piece. The lid of the pepper unscrews properly. EAPG OPAQUE GLASS"Ribbed Base" SALT& PEPPER SHAKERS Up for sale is a vintage hand blown opaque glass shakers. The color is not quite white yet not a custard color either. It is in between the two perhaps because it is somewhat transparent. Especially in the upper half. It measures approx 3" tall including lid. The rim is a little rough, but that is common on these hand blown shakers. The ribs were not polished because they are covered by a lid. The hand painted enamel show only minor paint loss. It does appear though that there may have been a wash of color on the shoulder near neck and on the base. These are only traces of paint there now. And you may wish to wash it off. Hand painted ruby glass salt and pepper shakers
Part of my grandmother's trousseau(pre-1890) These identical, hand painted ruby glass salt and pepper shakers are unique. Tops are original, and I believe they are pewter. There is no sterling mark and they are heavy, and polish to a shine. There are no scratches or dents. In the photos, black marks are lack of polish. If you must have super polished pix, let me know before bidding. Glass is solid ruby, and not cased. Painted bas relief with daisy-like flowers in white and pink, with mustard-yellow vines and green stems. 1.5" diameter; 2.5" high.

You are bidding ONLY on the blue clear glass salt shaker shown above. This is 2 1/4" tall and 2" in diameter. The outside of the glass is smooth. But you can see a type of honeycomb design in the glass. There are white and yellow flowers hand painted on the outside of the shaker. It has a metal piece around the top and the lid screws into that. The metal piece is secured to the glass. Condition: This item is in fair to good condition. There is a hairline crack on the base. At least I think it is a crack. It could be from the mold too. I am not sure. I can run my fingernail into the crack. I don't think it goes all the way through to the inside ... morethough. Antique Vintage Victorian Milk Glass Salt & Pepper Shakers Hand Painted Flowers
Sweet adorable antique vintage hand painted milk glass salt and pepper shakers. They are a creamy white in color. Pale green towards the base, with delicate hand painted flowers. They are in good condition with no cracks, chips or breaks. If you take off the tops the rim is somewhat rough. This is typical with shakers from this era since they were snapped off the pontil rod when finished. The hand painted flowers do show some paint loss in certain areas. The tops are I believe pewter/metal and do appear to be the original. They do show some wear consistent with their age(pitting, one has a little dent, see picture with arrow on it) All and all, these lovely shakers are in great condition for their age. This is a very old salt or pepper shaker. It is white milk glass with hand painted green background and red flowers. It has a lot of paint loss. And the lid is all rusted. This Victorian era salt shaker has a finely painted scene of a building atop a steep hill-possibly a castle or fort. Another smaller building at the top of a cliff is also visible.fort. With crashing waves, snow, and barren trees and snow covered evergreens. It has a very heavy metal lid-perhaps pewter that screws on and off quite smoothly. It is in perfect condition. There are a series of catalog numbers on the base added by the collector from whose estate this was purchased. It stands about 4 inches tall and is about 2 inches wide at its widest point.

The top of each shaker has a silverplated architectural-like top. But hard to tell if it’s a signature mark. It is beautiful to me. But does have a couple of faults. There are chips on each foot corner; the largest goes into the painted leaf area. This auction is for one hand-painted teal blue Victorian art glass salt shaker measuring approx. 2-5/8" high to the top of the metal cover which appears to be of silver-plated white metal. Cover has moderate plating wear and light corrosion. The glass body is In excellent condition, NO cracks or chips other than normal roughness around the top edge. A good old 1880's original. Up for auction is a souvenir salt shaker from the Ohio State Fair of 1915. It is made of clear pressed glass with its original metal lid. The floral design is hand-painted in thick enamel on gilt. And reads"Ohio State Fair 1915. A star design is pressed deeply into the bottom. No marking. This shaker appears unused and has no chips or wear. Measures 3" high x 1" wide at the base.
