Two vintage antique perfume bottles. The smaller one has a black glass flower lid and it is a Caron Le Narcisse Noir bottle but I don't know what date. It is signed on both the botttom of the black lid and the bottom of the bottle and it reads what looks like 62 f.111. I don't have a clue what that is or means. The large one has a hand blown lid that is original to the piece. Very nice and are in good to excellent condition. Please look at pictures well and I welcome questions before bidding. Vintage Nuit De Noel Caron, Sealed, 2 Oz. Sleek Black Baccarat Bottle, Stunning
You are viewing a wire-sealed. 2-ounce bottle of the famous Caron"Nuit De Noel" fragrance. The black, sleek Baccarat bottle is absolutely stunning and measures 4-1/4" from the bottom to the tip of the faceted black top. It measures 2-1/2 inches across the front of the bottle. There is one very small etch mark(about 1/8" long) on the bottom of the bottle, however, there is no other identification that can be detected, even viewing it with a jeweler's loop. The famous Caron tassel is securely affixed to the bottom of the lovely green box that resembles a small clutch-like purse. The inside of the box lid reads, CARON 10 rue de la Paix Paris FRANCE. There are a couple of light smudges just inside the lid along the right side(see photo) The overall condition of the box is excellent, with the exception of two very small ... moreareas where the adhered green pebble-design paper has lifted, maybe from being rubbed(front left along thin, gold line and left side bottom along thin, gold line) This doesn't detract from the beauty of the box. It truly is in wonderful condition. This gorgeous fragrance and presentation box belonged to my mother who was born in 1910. I do not know the exact age of this item. But believe it to be from a 1920- 1940's era. I don't believe it was ever used, as evidenced by the gold wire closure around the neck and stopper. The bottle definitely feels full. Bottle is 2 3/4" Height x 2 1/4" Wide x 1/2" Deep. Circa 1970's. Infini was introduced 1970. HP mark on the base of the bottle is by the glass factory of Pochet et du Courval in France after 1930 thru 1960's. Ernest Daltroff, was beginning to get fascinated by scent and fragrance creation. So in 1903, Daltroff purchased a perfumery in Asnieres called Parfumerie Emilia, a northwestern suburb of Paris, Daltroff's first perfume was named Royal Emilia. After the shop. His business was such a success that he purchased another small perfumery and haberdashery store from Anna-Marie Caron, called the Magasin Caron at 10 rue de la Paix. In the fashionable heart of Paris and renamed it Parfumerie Caron. He liked the name and decided it would be easy for his customers to pronounce in any language and remember as well as looking good on packaging. The perfume Royal Emilia was renamed Royal Caron in 1904. As the clientele grew. He took on a partner, Felicie Vanpouille, a young dressmaker, and Daltroff's lover.
