Made by the famous silversmith George Edwin Walton flask marked G.E.W Ld in a chamfered rectangle.The cork inside was dried out so it has been replaced with a fresh one that will make this little gem fully functional! Measures 6.8cm x 1.8cm. Please see the small flea bites to the bottom edge, very very minor, and a small ding to side of cap. Large Victorian English Blue Glass & Sterling Silver Perfume Bottle - 1896
A beautiful and very stylish late nineteenth century scent bottle with a globe base and elegant lock neck. All beautifully cut. The glass is a stunning and highly sought-after blue colour graduating to clear at the base of the bottle. The screw-top lid is made from English sterling silver, hallmarked for Birmingham 1896, making this a true Victorian example. The makers mark is also present CM for the silversmith, Charles May. The top of the lid has a vacant circular cartouche which could be engraved by your silversmith if you wished to personalize it. Description For your consideration today is this beautiful late Victorian perfume bottle made by William Comyns. This bottle is cut crystal and has a gorgeous repousse sterling silver hinged top featuring a pair of doves. It is hallmarked around the neck of the bottle with William Comyns stamp. The Silver Standard Mark, the London, England City Mark, the Date Letter of 1889. And the Duty Mark of Queen Victoria the I. The bottle is 5 1/4" tall and 4" across. There is a small push button on the front which keeps the bottle securely closed. There is no inner stop. There is a bit of staining on the inside of the bottle and it still has a beautiful lingering scent of the last perfume kept inside it. The bottle has a hobnail cut crystal body. Antique VICTORIAN Etched Sterling Silver Overlay PERFUME BOTTLE & STOPPER
This is an antique Victorian Etched Sterling Silver Overlay PERFUME BOTTLE& STOPPER- a very small"decanter" style with a charming fat bottom. The overlay is lovely vines and leaves and flowers. The stopper has a ground glass base and is just as pretty as the body of the piece. Sadly this piece has damage to the glass at the base. It has several cracks relating to a single chip and although they are cracks. The base is TIGHT and secure and there is no danger of the glass"falling out. Please see the pictures to get a better understanding. This piece is monogrammed with the initials D.A.C. in very OLD style script. Antique, RARE Ruby Red Glass Victorian Perfume Bottle with Sterling Silver
Beautiful. Rare and elegant, with faceted glass and ornate repousse silver hinged flip top lid. Glass is hand-blown and a rich ruby red found in decorative glass pieces of the Victorian era. These bottles first appeared in the late 1700's, but it wasn't until the mid-1800's that they were in general use. Their popularity waned during the late 1800's, but they continued to be made until the turn of the century. This item is in excellent condition, the silver carved hinge lid in perfect working order, with only a slight unevenness to the silver caused by opening and closing the lid and a slight patina to the silver. The faceted glass has a few nicks, but overall, it is in perfect shape. The bottle may have been worn around a lady's neck, as was the style of the age. Generally, a customer purchased the perfume bottle empty ... moreand had it filled by a chemist or perfumier, as ready-filled bottles of perfume were not yet on the market. This one contains a remnant of the owners' original perfume content, now a dried out solid. Excellent, low price for high value, rare piece- check out similar items being sold on the web. Antique English Double Ended Ruby Red Perfume Bottle - Victorian Sterling Silver
A really pretty and charming perfume or scent bottle in a fabulous rich ruby red colour. This is a slightly more unusual example of a Victorian double ended bottle. This one having a cylindrical form rather than the more often seen faceted type. The lids too are a little more unusual, again made from sterling(unmarked as most of these bottles were not) silver with a pretty floral embossed decoration. One end is hinged, with the little glass stopper intact and the other end is a screw-top with the cork to the inside of the lid to keep the liquid from evaporation. I am placing up for bid a lovely antique English hallmarked smelling salts perfume bottle. The sterling is hallmarked but somewhat worn. Making it hard to be able to tell the makers name, next to manufacturer is a small e for the date, then a full figure lion, and then the lion face( London and sterling mark)The glass appears to be cut glass without any pattern. I can't remove the stopper. The top of the stopper has a ridge in the glass, possibly to hold a cord? It is a Victorian era piece and from a local estate where the previous owner was from Quebec. I have maintained the majority of the original patina on the sterling silver hinged top which is in full working order with a tight closure. There is minor interior residue.
