VICTORIAN ERA PURFUME BOTTLES
Up for bids are two antique perfume bottles.The first bottle being the boot. Stands 3 3/4 inches tall and is 2 3/8 inches from the heel to toe, the boot has nice detail with a early lip. The second bottle is 3 1/8 inches tall and 2 inches wide, it features a girl with wings carrying a vase of flowers, the reverse shows a owl on a branch, both the girl and owl have a horseshoe surrounding them. Both bottles have no chips or cracks, the boot does have some haze to it, the girl and owl bottle has perfume residue in it, Both are nice early examples of perfume bottles.

Yes. It's a perfume/scent bottle, called a"Chatelaine" pronounced Shat-ah-lane) and is part of a brooch that would have had a pin with 2 chains that hooked onto the two holes on top of the piece. Chatalaines were popular in the Victorian era. Some held solid perfume. Some liquid and others had holes so that herbs, etc. could be put inside to permeate a scent while you wore them. A bath was a luxury and women wore these as jewelry to stay"fresh" smelling. The complete piece would have been similar to this. RARE ANTIQUE VICTORIAN Mt. Washington Era Fancy Silverplated Perfume/Bath Oil
Here is an extremely rare Antique Victorian Fancy Footed Silverplate Perfume/Bath Oil holder. Everything appears to be original and in very good condition with no breaks. Repairs or missing items. We have never seen another like this. The footed holder is surrounded by 6 matching crystals. The enameled glass holder is beautifully enameled with sprays of blue and pink flowers around the entire perimeter of the bottle. The silver plated footed holder stands almost 11 1/2" tall and is in great condition with no loss to the silver plate. It has delicate filigree around the circumference of the holder. There is a tiny piece of filigree missing on the side of the holder(underneath the handle- picture# 4) A truly one of a kind very special piece.

This“tear catcher” bottle was bought in Paris and given to Dick's great-great aunt by an admirer in 1878. Date and occasion are from Dick's grandmother's hand-written label. This is an unmarked antique art glass Victorian perfume atomizer. It retains the original bulb and brass draw tube. The bulb is hard with age and can easily be replaced. The body is teal art glass embellished with gold flowers and white hand painted enamel leaves.This atomizer is in excellent antique condition with minor wear of the gold painted flowers. Listed here is an Antique 7" Long Civil War Victorian Era Glass Lachrymatory Tear Catcher Bottle with a Beautiful Floral& Gold Trimmed Surface! This is in excellent condition for it's age with no cracks or dings. Just slightly dirty on the inside and the cork cap can not be removed because the top half is broken off. About Tear Catchers. Tear bottles were fairly common in Roman times. Around the time of Christ, when mourners filled small glass bottles or cups with tears and placed them in burial tombs as symbols of respect. Sometimes women were even paid to cry into these vessels, as they walked along the mourning procession. Those crying the loudest and producing the most tears received the most compensation, or so the legend goes. Lovely cut glass crystal cylinder and floral embossed sterling silver hinge topped perfume bottle is engraved with the date 49-99. I have maintained the majority of the original patina on the sterling silver hinged top which is in full working order with a tight closure. There is minor interior residue.
