One on the front and one on the back but there is beautiful scenic paintings all the way around the bottle. The lid is a bronze or brass metal. The glaze& paintings are in excellent condition ~ only a little roughness around the very bottom edge underneath. No chips. Cracks or repairs noted. The stopper is missing, as is often the case with an item this old. This bottle most likely dates the middle of the 1800's. The lid is very slightly pushed down as you might notice in one of the photos. The hinge works perfectly even though it looks a little curved. I do see that the hinge pin sticks out just a tad on one end. The lid does snap shut tightly. Be sure to shop bottles of similar style and age so you know just what a treasure this is! These painted Grand Tour bottles do not come up for sale often as they are much more scarce. The bottle is 4 inches tall and the base is 2 1/2 inches wide. Each individual bottle is a different color(amber, blue, green and pink) and has a stopper with a glass dauber; three of the four daubers are broken. The fourth goes all the way to the bottom of the bottle but the stopper is stuck and I haven't soaked it to try to dislodge it. RARE HTF Pink 1800s Antique PALAIS ROYAL GRAND TOUR Perfume Bottle FRENCH FLORAL
Item Description While starting bids may vary I ALWAYS POST WITH NO RESERVE! Up for auction is a lovely Pale Pink Perfume Bottle. I believe it is a Palais Royal/ Grand Tour perfume bottle. Most likely from France. It has a floral ceramic tile on the top of the lid. The center of the bottle has a silver background with hand painted, colorful floral enamel decorations surrounding 3/4 of the bottle. The"back side" is mostly without flowers. The only real damage to report is a slight bend of the lid on one side as you will see in the photos. There is light rubbing to the silver background and the gold detail lines as you would expect for it's age of nearly 150. The lid is a bronze or brass metal. The pink glaze is in excellent condition ~ only a little roughness around the very bottom edge underneath. No chips, cracks or repairs ... morenoted. The stopper is missing, as is often the case with an item this old. This bottle most likely dates to the middle of the 1800's. These perfume bottles were souvenirs collected by travelers as they made their way through Europe on their"Grand Tours" The hinge works perfectly& is intact. The lid does close tightly. Be sure to shop bottles of similar style and age so you know just what a treasure this is! These painted Grand Tour bottles do not come up for sale as often as the clear glass, red& green bottles ~ these painted bottles are much more scarce. Rare Antique 19th Century 1850-1899 French Cameo Perfume Scent Chatelaine Bottle
Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE This is a very old and unique item that is believed to be from the late 19th century. It's a beautiful rare French Chatelain Scent bottle with an elegant carved shell cameo. The item has pronged purple gemstones throughout including four on the front. One on the bottom and one on the lid. I believe the body to be gold gilt with a brass front. The sides have a lovely leaf scrolling pattern while the back has a repetitive diamond pattern. There is a chain that is supposed to attach from the body to the cap, but it has come loose. This would be very easy to reattach. The bottle does not have a vile. Measurements are roughly 3/4 in W x 2" 5/8 L. The bottle is in great vintage condition other than the detached chain and mild tarnishing. Please feel free to ask questions.
