There are no makers marks or names that I can find, ... moreso I'm hesitant to say that it is made of actual silver. It is non-metallic, and so intricate that it's hard to imagine that anything else was used, but I can't say for sure. No breaks or cracks at all in the mesh work. Description: A fine antique 19th century French silver and cut glass scent bottle. The glass body features an exquisite all over zipper cut patterning. An ornate repousse of rocailles. Scrolling foliate and petite flowers encompass the silver lid and collar. A blank cartouche tops the hinged lid, opening to reveal a gilt vermeil interior and a cut glass stopper. Hallmarked with the wild boar's head, a French standard for.800/1000 silver. The mark was typically used on small objects of at least 80% pure silver content, close to.925 sterling. Also bearing an silversmith's mark, visible in the photos. Likely that of silversmith Charles Murat, active in 1897, whose workshop was located at 62 rue des Archives in Paris. THIS IS A VERY BEAUTIFUL ORIGINAL VICTORIAN DOUBLE ENDED PERFUME BOTTLE. IT IS A DEEP RUBY RED. THE GLASS IS MULTI-FACETED. THE LIDS ARE SILVER REPOUSSE. Vintage Antique? Silver Tone Small Ornate Flower Perfume Bottle - Glass Stopper
I don't really know anything about this piece. It appears to be a small metal perfume bottle with a glass stopper. There is a raised design on it that has flowers and leaves at the top and just some pretty designs towards the bottom half. I cannot get the top off and would be scared of breaking it to try too hard. So I cannot tell you what's inside, but it doesn't slosh or anything. I do not know if it is sterling silver or just a silver tone metal. It could be marked on the rim, but since I cannot get the top off, It does show some patina. And I wonder if at some time it had some kind of decorative cap over the glass stopper. It is fairly heavy and measures about 2 1/4 inches high. Seems to be in pretty good shape. Thanks for looking. An ornate silver overlay etched glass perfume bottle. The bottle measures 6" high to the top of the stopper. The silver is in excellent condition with little if any wear to the detail. I believe it is German made. It is hallmarked as shown in the last photo. I do not know the fineness of the silver. The glass bottle has no chips. Cracks or staining. There are a couple shallow flakes on the fitting edge of the stopper. A pretty piece fresh from a central Connecticut home and new on the market. This small bottle is 1 3/8" x 7/8" and weighs 9.8 grams it is made of glass with a silver plated floral design casing. There is silver loss on one side of the bottle I have taken close up pictures in different lighting to show the loss. The bottle is stamped made in France on the bottom. The top of the bottle has a turquoise bead wrapped in filigree and the dabber is made of blown glass. There are no chips. Cracks. scratches or flea bites on the glass of the bottle including the dabber. The bottle screws on evenly and is secure enough to fill will perfume and put in your purse the flower and diamond shaped filigree is bonded on the bottle in a way that protects the glass from breaking. Beautiful little perfume signed made in France. Still has gummy remnants of perfume. Very ornate. Untested but I suspect it is sterling. Red"jewel" on the top of the cap. Victorian Perfume Bottle Silver And Glass With Ornate Cap Hallmarks
This is a very beautiful Victorian/Edwardian glass and silver perfume bottle with ornate silver work. This bottle is in good condition. The lid snaps into place and the hinge works well. There are No chips or cracks in the glass bottle. The silver work on the bottom is not symmetrical. There are two hallmarks in the silver decorative area on the neck of the piece. But they are tiny and I can't find them in my research. You can see them under a microscope but I can't capture them with my camera. I believe this is an old. Rare bottle but I'm no expert.
