Perfume Bottle Vintage IW Rice Perfume Bottle Hand Cut Glass Made in Japan
Vintage I W Rice cut glass perfume bottle. This was my mother-in-laws and I got from her in the late 1970's. Heavy clear glass with original stickers still attached. The piece is square in shape with the bottom smaller than the top. I have had in a box all of these years. The piece is in good vintage condition with one small chip on the top of the stopper. The piece measures 2 1/8 inches across the top and 1 3/8 inches across the bottom. The piece stands 5 inches tall. I will ship out USPS and to the post office within next business day after payment is received. Payment is requested within three days of auction end. If you have any questions. Item Description While starting bids may vary I ALWAYS POST WITH NO RESERVE! Up for auction is a heavy. Hand made glass Lachrymatory bottle or Scent flask. Most of these were from the Civil War era(1861- 1865) but also popular during the Victorian Era in Europe(1831- 1901) which encompassed our Civil War Era. While we were shedding tears in ours waiting for loved ones to come home from the war ~ the English were also filling similar style bottles with tears during mourning and once the tears evaporated the mourning period was over. The true Lachrymatories were started by the Greeks and Romans who also shed tears into them during the mourning procession. Reference to these bottles were even made in the Old Testament. Most are"rugged" and by no means perfectly made ~ but they were handmade ~ and that is what gives them such character. ... moreMuch later, similar style bottles were also used to home perfume. This one is heavily pained in gold design and much of it remains. No chips to the glass but you will see what looks like deep scratches- these are not cracks but are usually the results of crudely fashioning the hot glass making"folds" in it. This one does not have a stopper, which is not unusual to have lost these tiny things over the years. The bottle is 6 3/4 inches long/tall and 1/2 inch wide. Old Art Deco Antique Cut Glass Gold Hand Painted Atomizer Perfume Bottle MOSER?

But check my feedback to feel secure about making a purchase from me. I try to provide good pictures& be picky about descriptions. This is a large& gorgeous hand painted heavy cut glass perfume bottle with enamel painted gold decoration. It is bordering on the Art Deco style. since it's been an atomizer, I'm guessing it dates from 1900-1920. It features that tell tale little sqiggle decoration frequently associated with Moser. It's quite large. About 5-3/8" high to the ... moretop of the brass fitting, about 5-5/16" across at widest& about 2-3/16" thick, tapering in going up to the top. It has some heft, weighing 1 pound 10 ounces. The gold is not perfect. But the decoration is there. There are some nips, the worst[not too bad though] being visible in I think picture 7. On the left side, not the front cut line, but the first side cut line, at the bottom corner where it then angles down to the base. Check the downward angles in my pictures. Truly for it's age& these precarious angles, it's minor. There is no hose& ball, just the fitting for it. There is a faint bit of'whiting' on the inside, but I can't get the fitting off to get in there to try to clean it. Still I'd rate this at 90% If you collect perfumes. This is a wonderful& substantial example.

ANTIQUE BOHEMIAN CZECH HAND CUT GLASS CRYSTAL PERFUME SCENT BOTTLE 1860-1870's
A very nice and early c. 1860's-1870's Czech/ Bohemian hand blown crystal/ cut glass perfume/ scent bottle with hand cut faceted edges to catch the light. Both the bottle as well as the matching original stopper are 8-sided. And each vertical panel is further scored into 6 horizontal segments, the middle one of which is larger than the others and painted with a simple leaf and dot design in blue enamel. The horizontal wedges are further accented with gold banding. Due to the lead oxide content, the glass is heavy for its size. The glass has been hand polished to achieve a good reflective quality and the piece shimmers and glints in the light. The bottle and stopper are original to each other. Both visually and they also both bear the identical number(10” painted on. Since each bottle is individually made and therefore there are very ... moreslight differences from piece to piece, the glass workers would ensure that every bottle was paired up with the stopper that was specifically created for it by marking both pieces so there would never be any wobbling. The bottle is 4" high with the stopper on. Individually. The bottle is 3" tall and the stopper is 1-1/2" tall. The bottle is in very fine condition for its age. There are only a few teensy. Really tiny, fleabites which you can't see at all, and you can't even feel them if you run your finger around the edges. You actually have to look for them with a loupe. The stopper has 2 very small fleabites on the dauber, and there is a flake off the underside of the dauber rim. Again. They are minor and you can't see them when the stopper is inside the bottle. The gold inside the wedge cuts is strong and intact, but the painted gold lines at the bottle neck, rim and at the top of the stopper have a very small amount of loss, if I'm being picky. The top of the stopper has a round circle design in gold and to my eye, this appears slightly off center. We should all look so good at 150+ years old! This is a sweet little thing.
