A VERY RARE FIND.MAGNIFICENT ORMOLU Perfume Bottles in gilt gold with beveled Amber glass and the matching 8x10 frame. Most likely made by Stylebuilt or Matson this FABULOUS grouping is in BEAUTIFUL condition for it's age. When you peer into the inside of the Gorgeous perfume bottles you can see a beautifully detailed circle of filigree roses. The intricate filigree on the bottles is in EXCELLENT condition but is darker then shown in a few of the photos. The side view is a truer representation of the gilt gold. The frame. Which will hold an 8 x 10 photo, has the original glass and picture backing that is strong and does not collapse when frame is stood. The original black rubber"scratch" protectors are on the bottom of the frame. The frame is in EXCELLENT CONDITION. The Amber glass on the perfume bottles and the glass on the ... moreframe is not scratched. There are two or three tiny chips on the edge of the frame glass but they are under the rim of the frame and not visible on the outside. The dauber is still in the lovely heart shaped top but one has detached from the stopper. There is one small flaw on the prongs around the AMBER GLASS on one of the perfume bottles. It is missing a prong(only one) at the bottom of the oval glass frame. Please look at the photos closely. Absolutely beautiful. Whether filled with your favorite perfume and photo or left empty. This is a wonderful addition to your dressing table or display. The bottle is 8 3/4" tall. 5 1/2" wide and 2 1/2" deep. approximate measurements. The frame is 13" tall and 11" wide. featured here is a beautiful bottle with gorgeous flat gold gilt decoration. It appears that the bottle has had some damage near the"neck" where it narrows up)There appears to have been a break in the glass as there appears to be an old restoration, but whoever fixed it did a great job in our opinion. However, the bottle shows really well because of all the decoration. Very little gold loss for its age. It has 8 panels of cranberry color. One of the panel has what appears to be a open bubble to the edge. we believe its been there since its production. The 8 cranberry color panels off set beautifully with the gorgeous gold gilt decoration on the clear glass. Not sure who makes it but a collector would know. I believe these are Baccarat bottles but I have never been able to find any other's like them. Just very similar Baccarat bottles. Both bottles have gold gilt design. The gold gilt is on top of stoppers and around sides of stoppers on leaf design. The bottles have gold gilt on top rim, around mid top bottle and on bottle leaves surrounding the bottles. The bottles have a leaf design with fluted sides. Stoppers are very detailed also with leaf design and fluted design. Stoppers and bottles have etched numbers on them. The large bottle has 17 etched and a shape I'm not sure what it is. The large stopper has the number 146. The small ... morebottle has the number 6 etched on the bottle rim area. The small stopper has the number 103. Condition: There is some wear to gold gilt on top of large stopper. Both stoppers have some very tiny nibbles around ends from previous use. Bottles and stoppers have no chips, cracks or breaks. A beautiful pair of French Perfume bottles. Great for display on Vanity. I try to describe my items honestly and accurately. But I'm no expert. Item Description While starting bids may vary I ALWAYS POST WITH NO RESERVE! Up for auction is a heavy. Hand made glass Lachrymatory bottle or Scent flask. Most of these were from the Civil War era(1861- 1865) but also popular during the Victorian Era in Europe(1831- 1901) which encompassed our Civil War Era. While we were shedding tears in ours waiting for loved ones to come home from the war ~ the English were also filling similar style bottles with tears during mourning and once the tears evaporated the mourning period was over. The true Lachrymatories were started by the Greeks and Romans who also shed tears into them during the mourning procession. Reference to these bottles were even made in the Old Testament. Most are"rugged" and by no means perfectly made ~ but they were handmade ~ and that is what gives them such character. ... moreMuch later, similar style bottles were also used to home perfume. This one is heavily pained in gold design and much of it remains. No chips to the glass but you will see what looks like deep scratches- these are not cracks but are usually the results of crudely fashioning the hot glass making"folds" in it. This one does not have a stopper, which is not unusual to have lost these tiny things over the years. The bottle is 6 3/4 inches long/tall and 1/2 inch wide. 1880 Victorian Gold Gilt Glass Mourning Lachrymatory Tear-Catcher Perfume Bottle
Up for your consideration is a wonderful 1887 Victorian Era Gold Gilt Glass Lachrymatory/Tear-Catcher/Perfume Bottle. Tears for a loved one could be collected for a period of time. Then sprinkled over the grave site or allowed to evaporate. After this period of time, grieving could be considered complete. This little treasure is in very good antique condition. There is one chip 1mm deep and 1cm long on the base. Some of the gold guiding has worn off. It measures 6 inches long by about a half inch wide. Please see pictures and email with any questions!

The glass is so dark it's hard to tell the color. It's marked on the bottom, France" Measurement is approximately 1 and 1/4 inches tall. It's in good vintage condition. I see no damage.
