WELCOME FRIENDS! Beautiful floral. Fruit, and gold hand blown glass French perfume bottle from the 1850s. The blue flowers on the face and rear of the bottle are hand painted with raised beading to give the piece a real textured appearance. The gold trim still has a lovely glimmer considering it was painted over 150 years ago! I did notice what look like a chip on the bottom corner, but when I took my loop out and look at it, the gold paint covers the chip. I would consider this a manufactures defect. There are several small chips in this bottom area. But two of them are also covered with gold paint. There is one small chip around this bottom area. Please look at the photos and notate. Gorgeous little atomizer with pink and blue roses and pink and white alternation trim. Lots of 24kt gold detailing and the lettering on the bottom is clear and easy to read. No fading to the design or gold trim. Porcelain shows no cracks. Chips, etc. The brass finish on the pump shows minimal wear for the age. Lovely little piece. Stands just 3" tall and has good action in the pump and makes the proper sound. The inside still smells of perfume from the previous owner. I've heard the best way to clear previous smells is to use rubbing alcohol. But I thought the smell adds to the"vintage-ness" of the piece. Antique Perfume Brooch Gold Plate Floral Design
This is an Antique perfume bottle brooch. I purchased in box at an estate sale and this was fairly dirty so I did not recognize what it was right away. After cleaning item up it became apparent it was a pretty nice old piece of jewelry. The dabber is still in the bottle and brooch looks complete to me. The body of the brooch and pin do not take a magnet but the chain does. I am sure there is gold in brooch but I have no idea of the purity. Not shiny enough to be real high content but I am not an expert. Good middle of the road quality and the perfume still has its scent and it seems as though it was nice perfume. Finish gone on chain and slight discoloration to back. I did not polish this at all just buffed with cloth. This bottle is stamped"Germany" on the bottom. This would be circa early 1900's for age and most likely would have has a cute crown stopper but that I missing and replaced with cork. Overall this is a well kept little bottle. The floral design is very much intact and vibrant with color. The only thing to mention is a few tiny areas where the gold has worn away on the sides and up at the opening. You should be able to see that in the photos. No chips. Cracks or repairs noted. It is very clean inside and out. The bottle is 2 7/8 inches tall and 1 7/8 wide at the base. If you collect the smaller perfume bottles this is a such a pretty one ~ so don't ... morepass it up.
