Art Deco glass and guilloche enamel jewelled and gilded perfume/ cologne bottle. Made in Europe. Very likely Austrian Wiener Werkstatte or Paris, France. Dates to 1920-30's. Measures 5 1/2 inches high. Almost 4 inches in diameter at bottom. Outstanding quality: glass bottle reminiscent of figural stylised woman in a wide skirt. Glass is emerald green cut to yellow. Original full dauber at the end of the stopper. Stopper with rich gilding and wonderful faux emerald on top. The neck of the bottle has a band of fantastic guilloche enamel in a complex design in sparkling emerald green. Golden orange and gold. Various textured surfaces, parallel lines, squares within squares with irregularly sized borders. A golden masquerade mask with engraved detail. Matched pair of lovely late 1800s perfume bottles. They are formed of fairly thick glass with dozens of tiny star-like air bubbles and inclusions. I have seen this pattern described variously as"Beaded Mirror" Beaded Medallion" Beaded Jewel" Hobnail" and"Bullseye. The bottles measure 3 1/2" tall(7" with stopper) and weigh 14 oz each(hefty. Aren't they! but the base has to be heavy or that big stopper will tip it over) I have pointed out the fine details in red in the photographs. So make sure you look at them all!

The larger bottle was probably more for hair pins and the smaller/thinner bottle was most likely use for perfume. The smaller of the two has a pretty flower design to the lid with a teeny. Tiny, red stone in the center of the flower. This lid also looks like a gold gilt has been applied over the brass to make it extra shiny. Too Cute! You do get both bottles in this auction. Each bottle has ten panels and the glass is clear& clean. Lids remove& replace easily. Only very light surface wear to the glass as expected for age(c. 1920s-1930s? No chips, cracks or repairs. The larger bottle is 3 1/2 inches tall and 1 1/2 inches in diameter. ~~~As my nest gets emptier~~~ ~~~I have things to offer to Feather your nest~~~ this is a lovely little Victorian Miniature Perfume Bottle WITH IT'S GLASS APPLICATOR ATTATCHED TO THE BOTTLE TOP my Grandma gave me this when I was little because I thought it was pretty.she was born in the late 1880's) and it has been in a jewelbox for years. It has some dried pine needles inside that could be cleaned out(I think when I was about 4 I wanted to save the smell of Christmas: but I did not want to'wash' it incorrectly because of its age-I will leave that to you. Probably. A good pipe cleaner would nudge them out for you. This bottle is coated in what I believe to be brass filigree that is adorned with some'jeweling' in red stone or glass( that is also in the crown of the stopper. As you can see it is decorated with red and ... morewhite enameling on the flowers as well and the edges look like little hearts around the outside of the glass cage. Now it is time to pass this along to a new loving home-please adopt! Unbelievably. This still has the ORIGINAL glass applicator with only the tip of it missing!
