Here is an Antique ORMOLU GILT ornate design PERFUME Glass bottle w ith dauber w ith matching mirror tray framed in metal brass-like ornate ormolu design. I cannot find any markings on this piece- However. We were told from the estate where we found many treasures of amazing antiques that many of these perfume bottles are said to have belong ed to the women's grandmother and from the late 1800's. Several antique perfume bottles were found at an estate of a couple who traveled the world. Her and her husband were instrumental in starting the Cruise industry in and out of ports in Florida and they have several homes around the world. A VERY RARE FIND.MAGNIFICENT ORMOLU Perfume Bottles in gilt gold with beveled Amber glass and the matching 8x10 frame. Most likely made by Stylebuilt or Matson this FABULOUS grouping is in BEAUTIFUL condition for it's age. When you peer into the inside of the Gorgeous perfume bottles you can see a beautifully detailed circle of filigree roses. The intricate filigree on the bottles is in EXCELLENT condition but is darker then shown in a few of the photos. The side view is a truer representation of the gilt gold. The frame. Which will hold an 8 x 10 photo, has the original glass and picture backing that is strong and does not collapse when frame is stood. The original black rubber"scratch" protectors are on the bottom of the frame. The frame is in EXCELLENT CONDITION. The Amber glass on the perfume bottles and the glass on the ... moreframe is not scratched. There are two or three tiny chips on the edge of the frame glass but they are under the rim of the frame and not visible on the outside. The dauber is still in the lovely heart shaped top but one has detached from the stopper. There is one small flaw on the prongs around the AMBER GLASS on one of the perfume bottles. It is missing a prong(only one) at the bottom of the oval glass frame. Please look at the photos closely. Absolutely beautiful. Whether filled with your favorite perfume and photo or left empty. This is a wonderful addition to your dressing table or display. The bottle is 8 3/4" tall. 5 1/2" wide and 2 1/2" deep. approximate measurements. The frame is 13" tall and 11" wide. It is one of these Opaline glass souvenirs from Paris. France. These beautiful souvenirs were found in 19th century boutiques of the famed Palais Royal of Paris. Which is the old palace of Cardinal Richelieu. The treasures from the Palais Royal remain today some of the most sought after antiques. And this beautiful Box is one among those, wonderful in all ways. Beautiful delicate mint color. This opaline box mounted i nto bronze dore mounts. The box has hinged lid and'S' shaped clasp. Hinge and clasp work properly- securely tight. It stands on figural gilded bronze base 6 1/2" high, the glass egg measures 2 1/2" high; 1 7/8" in diameter at the opening. The bronze stand ... moreser ves as ring holder; it has three branches for rings to be hang on. The box is in pristine condition considering the age. No chips or cracks. Gild shows wear. Probably English- No Marks Noted Item Specifics: Up for auction is a spectacular example of a 19th c. c.1860s-80s) Double-ended laydown perfume bottle, executed predominately in a heavy, gorgeous and DARK cobalt blue glass with spectacular bulbous and hinged gilt caps in an"Ormolu" stylized design with intricate repousse. As photographed above, this beautiful and unique piece displays exceptional quality and craftsmanship, with the cobalt glass cylinder executed in sharp and precise panels with"beveled" edges. Yes, glass is wonderfully clean and catches/refracts the light amazingly well. While one of the hinged caps remains"stuck" the other does"open" ... morewith this end featuring its original and small glass stopper. Yes, I do believe this bottle is"English" in terms of provenance, but I'm not 100% certain as I was unable to locate hallmarks. Measurements: Cylindrical"lay-down" perfume is 5" in total length when measuring"end-to-end" And is 1" at widest diameter. Condition: Good" to"Very Good" This"scarcer" laydown perfume present VERY well. Displaying several"nibbles" and three"filed chips" Almost appearing as"shaved chips" upon CLOSE to the cobalt panels of the bottle visible upon CLOSE inspection ONLY.
