There are a variety of crystal shapes and sizes on this piece that make it very rich. All of the prisms are present. And almost all are without chips. Some of the larger prisms has small chips that are consistent with a piece from the 1930's. None of the prisms are severely damaged or broken in half, for example. Still sealed in box but perfume has completely evaporated, I believe this bottle design was originally created by Baccarat& used for the Voyage a Paris line. Welcome to Antiques& Moore! This listing is for a VERY RARE French double sided SULPHIDE CAMEO cut crystal perfume or scent bottle with silver top made by the Baccarat factory. C. early 1800's. Measures 3" high. 1 3/4" long and 1" wide. This STUNNING bottle has an intricate portrait cameo on each side of the hand cut crystal body. One side features a double cameo bust of Napoleon and Josephine and the reverse has a cameo bust of Hortense(Josephine's child from a former marriage) The sulphide cameos are made of opaque glass that are encased in another layer of glass. This type cameo is an earlier form and was made in the early 1800's. It has a snap off French silver cap with a good hinge and tight closure. The bottle is in good condition. However, there is a small chip on lower left side below the child's ... morecameo. No other noted damage. Missing inner glass stopper. A similar bottle is illustrated on page 22 of the book"Perfume and Scent Bottle Collecting" by Jean Sloan. This type scent bottle was made as early as 1770 and was made in both England and France. The silver rim of this bottle is marked with a single French hallmark and similar bottles were known to have been made by the Baccarat factory. This RARE bottle would be a treasured addition to any advanced scent bottle collection. Due to the process involved in making these cameo scent bottles. A rare and fabulous antique LENTHERIC BACCARAT CRYSTAL PERFUME BOTTLE FLACON. First launched in 1924 for the scent"MIRACLE" It is SIGNED on the base in acid-stamped letters"Made in France" The bottle itself was called"floating gold" was designed by Georges Dumoulin and made by BACCARAT in France. It came in three sizes: 5 7/8" h, 4 1/2" h, and 3 1/8" h(bottle& glass stopper) This is the 4 1/2" high size. The beautiful Miracle scent still emanates from the interior when the stopper is removed. One reason for the rarity of this deluxe bottle is because this bottle required a special process to make. Which was difficult and expensive. This led to Lentheric changing to a clear& frosted half-column bottle made by Brosse in 1936. This black glass bottle has curved. Lobed sides in the form ... moreof an elegant skirt, graced with an abstract gold dust pattern. The pattern on each of these bottles made by Baccarat is unique and different from the next. There is a gilt brass collar around the neck of the bottle, a perfectly fitting ground& polished black glass stopper, and a genuine BAKELITE stopper cover imbedded with"gold dust" all original to the bottle. The condition is excellent and impeccable in every way. Except for a small flake on the underside of the beveled base edge(see photo) This mar measures about 3mm across, and cannot be seen at all when the bottle is standing. An interesting side-light is that the Lentheric"Miracle" scent held in this bottle was inspired by a pantomime"The Miracle" staged by Max Reinhardt and starring Lady Diana Manners in 1911. This is a book piece. Seen in books covering the history of major perfume and scent bottles. In addition, its image can be seen in advertising from magazines of that time period. C1850 French Opaline Baccarat Perfume, white & blue, enameled, 8", ground pontil
Description: this is a rare and fine example of a perfume flask fabricated in white opaline glass with a contrasting cerulean torus at the waist and a pointed. Flared stopper. The body of the flask is bell-shaped with a wide pillow rim above the foot; it is encircled in a lively band of Florentine scrolls in yellow, interspersed with small multicolored flowers. This ornate hand-enameled decoration is further enriched with gold. The neck of the flask widens into a crenellated edge finished in gold. There are six simple gold-painted bands around the body and waist. The blue stopper is almost pagoda-like; on a long stem which protrudes from the neck of the flask, it umbrellas the rim and ends in nine points, again divided and finished in gold. Its upper surface is textured as satin glass. Size: 8" high. Including original stopper, with ... morea full diameter of 4" approx. Condition: very good. There are no breaks and no significant chips that I can find. The stopper has a tiny nick on the underside which I have tried to show in the photos by positioning that point against the book. On the upper surface there is a shaving which shows as a shiny spot; other spots appear to be rubbed. Or may not have etched well at the factory. I think it most likely that the apex tip was ground. The base of the body is very smooth, showing the grind marks of leveling the pontil. There are no identifying marks and no signature. The enameled frieze is in good shape but there does exist some small loss to the gold bands. It is particularly difficult to tell if there is much scratching because of the inherent tiny bubbles in the opaline glass. I have found no nicks to the rim and consider it to be very sharp and well-cut. I have owned this piece for many years and have never seen another alike. Item Description While starting bids may vary I ALWAYS POST WITH NO RESERVE! Up for auction is a gorgeous. Heavy etched glass( crystal) Perfume Bottle with golden atomizer. This bottle is in excellent condition with no real problems to list. The upper half of the bottle is rounded with etched flowers& leaves. The bottom half is sectioned into 9 arched panels ~ yes. I counted several times ~ as most usually I have run into a even number. I bit of a mystery. The gold tone hardware is still very shiny and bright ~ only a slight bit of fading to the gold from age. No chips. Cracks or repairs noted and it all appears to be original. The bulb is not brand new but a newer addition. With the delicate etched flowers pink just seemed to be the right color so why mess with a good thing? The glass is thick, heavy and of the quality you would expect ... morefrom Baccarat. ART DECO CARON NUIT DE NOEL BACCARAT FRENCH GLASS PARFUM BOTTLE W BOX. Click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge This is a lovely little Baccarat French glass bottle designed in 1922 by Felicie Vanpouille/Francoise Bergaud for Caron. It shows a faceted boule cap on the black bottle. With a metal decrative band. It is with a box in green shagreen design. This was designed for the French parfum Nuit de Noel by Caron. It has the silver band. In very nice condition, with some etch marks on the bottom of the black glass bottle that I cannot make out. It is probably a Baccarat number. The stopper is tight, and I have not tried to remove it. The box show bits of wear, but has kept the bottle in very clean unworn condition. This is the smaller bottle and box. Measuring about 3 1/4 inches tall with the box lid in place. It probably would have ... moreheld under an ounce of parfum. Lovely bit of old French glass and a charming perfume bottle.
