It has a clear glass inside bottle and is 3/4ths full of perfume. It was hand crafted in Taxco and signed"DF" by the maker. It is stamped with hallmarks: Taxco 925 HECHO EN Mexico" and marked sterling. This bottle stands 2 1/8" tall and measures 1" wide. It appears to be in excellent condition other than being in need of a polishing. It is just perfect for carrying in your evening purse. This bottle was made by an American silver company probably by Alvin or Gorham right around the year 1900. This piece is not marked but I guarantee the overlay to be sterling silver. The overlay is thick and it a flower and a leaf. There is also a cartouche for monogramming that was never engraved. The overlay is engraved with details. Beautiful Victorian Clear Glass Footed Perfume Bottle Floral and Foliate Brass Overlay Design Stopper with Brass Flower Top For Your Old Perfume Bottle Collection Details Description: This is a gorgeous clear glass perfume bottle with a tight fitting stopper having a glass dipping rod. The bottle which is made of clear glass. Has around squat shape and the stopper has a brass top in the shape of a bursting flower. The bottle has a nice brass overlay with a solid round base and four feet on which the bottle rest. The brass overlay is shaped in a beautiful floral and foliate design with the flowers being on the bottom and the foliate being on the sides and top of the bottle. The bottle has a round recessed base with the round brass ring holding the feet sitting right on its edge. The bottle has rounded sides which flares outwardly then back ... moreinwardly and tapers at a round neck where the stopper would fit. The whole piece has beautiful decorative appearance and is very much Victorian in design. The brass stopper has a glass dipping rod in its center which goes down about 2 two third of the way to the bottom of the bottle. Please carefully review the photos provided as they are part and parcel of our description. Date: Late 1800 to early 1900s. Origin: Purchased at an estate auction in Lancaster Pennsylvania. Distinguishing Characteristics- Most Interesting About The Piece: The piece has a nice shape with very interesting brass overlay and a beautiful and unusual brass stopper. Description At auction is a cranberry glass perfume bottle which stands 5 3/4" tall. 4" in diameter at its widest point. It was probably made by Steuben and is covered with art nouveau style sterling overlay, possibly made by Alvin. The overlay features scrolling leaves between four large flowers and the stopper has a large bud. The piece is marked very lightly"Sterling" but I could not find the Alvin hallmark. Item Description While starting bids may vary I ALWAYS POST WITH NO RESERVE! Up for auction is a Sterling Silver Overlay glass Perfume Bottle with atomizer. The overlay has a beautiful and delicate floral pattern. On the bottom is it stamped"Sterling 950" which is silver that is a bit finer than the usual 925) The bulb is old but still soft and when squeezed puffs of air do come out of the atomizer. This had a glass syphon tube at one time but it broke off leaving part if it behind. It was not something I wanted to risk further damage to so I simply inserted a plastic syphon tube in the hole that was left behind. Other than that it's all original. I do not find a makers mark which would help me to date it so I can't be certain of either. There is no missing or broken silver overlay. It is an oval glass bottle that has been ... morepinched in on three sides. I do see that over the rounded edge of"corner" the silver overlay does not come together and this is meant to be that way due to the extreme bend. Such delicate and fine silver would not be able to maintain it's overall tightness to the glass if made to bend so extremely at the smallest part in the edge of all three corners. You have to see it for it to make sense and I have tried to capture that in the photos. When I hold it up to the light I do not see any cracks or chips to the glass and the glass is clear. It is 3 inches tall and 1 1/2 inches across at the widest. You will go nuts over the detail in the overlay on this little gem! Bid early! For your consideration is this dainty glass perfume bottle with a handcrafted floral.925 sterling silver overlay. Made in Mexico c. 1950. The bottle stands 2 1/2" tall with it's cap in place, the glass is clear and clean. The cap is screw-type and the glass threads are trouble-free. Overall condition is very good vintage with only minimal signs of handling wear.
