Handsome Antique English Fine Cut Glass Scent or Perfume Flask c.1880
A wonderfully tactile large perfume flask. The type that would have been used for an Eau de Toilette or Eau de Cologne, rather than the more concentrated perfume. The large flask is a joy to hold with its crisp hand cut surface with smooth lozenge in the centre of the front. The collar and screw top are lavishly gilded and once removed reveals a glass stopper in the top. Excellent condition dating to the Victorian era, around 1880 and measuring 5 1/2" tall. It is enamelling process laid on machined patterned brass.The pattern under the enamel is shell like with very many tiny rows going all around the piece, and at the end of the perfume along the edge is tiny flowers and scrolling work. THIS IS A LOVELY ANTIQUE MARKED 3110- 999/1000 FINE ALVIN STERLING SILVER OVERLAY VANITY PERFUME BOTTLE. WITH VINE AND IRIS PATTERN. INCLUDED IS THE MATCHED# STOPPER. Both are in very good, gently used condition. Both pieces are wrapped in an intricate vine and iris pattern overlay of delicate 999 Fine Alvin Sterling Silver. Both the bottle and the stopper are marked on the bottom of the glass with the number 799, and so are a matched set. The bottle has an oval area that is perfect for your monogram or cartouche. This bottle stands 2 1/8" tall without the stopper, and 3 1/4" tall with the stopper, by 2 7/8" across its widest. It still smells faintly of some long ago ladies fragrance. Antique Fine Filigree & Blue Jeweled Victorian Perfume Bottle w/ glass dauber
Here is another wonderful very old bottle from my personal collection. I have had it for many years and decided to bring it out for the holidays to see if any one is interested in it. This bottle is a true antique at least 100- 130 years old. made of glass and very fine filgree with gold ormolu. as you can see in the pics. It has a large blue smooth caboncon stone bezel set and on the sides it has 4 panels that have 3 blue stones each. non missing. the bottle still even has its long glass dauber. I find it interesting that the glass has rounded panels and notches along the sides. CONDITION; I WOULD LIKE TO POINT OUT THAT THE BOTTLE IS IN WONDERFUL ANTIQUE CONDITION. the gold ormolu is mostly all there. the filigree is all good. Nothing loose or broken. as stated still has the glass dauber. the glass is clear and healthy no spots or residue. ... morebut I just noticed when holding up in lights for photos.
