I don’t know if the stopper is original but it fits nicely. The height to the rim is 7 1/2”. The inside has some spotting but I haven’t tried to clean it. The technique used to create these beauties is called cut to clear. Clear glass has a color glass over it. Then skilled craftspeople carefully cut away the color (in this example it’s Amber) to create designs.

This piece dates to late 1800s or early 1900s. And is of continental European origin, likely German or Italian. The stand is very ornate, with a handle in the form of a putti playing with a snake and scenes of cherubs playing instruments around the side of each bottle holder. On each side of the stand is a gilded scallop shell form drip catcher, beneath a round slot to hold the stoppers of the cruets while they're in use, very convenient. These drip catchers are removable for ease of cleaning. The stand is on four claw and ball form feet, with fancy shell decorations above. The bottles themselves are beautifully cut, with sparkling faceted stoppers. The majority of the cruet stand is silver, only the plate on the underside is steel, with old hand cut bolt construction. The silver is tested and guaranteed at least 800 purity. This cruet set is in good overall condition. One of the glass bottles has a crack. But is not in any danger of coming apart and is probably even still useable. One of the cherubs is missing his flute. Both cherubs have repairs to one of their arms, which are quite hard to notice. There are no other issues. The stand is about 14 1/4 inches tall at the highest point. The total weight. Not including the glass bottles, is 1041 grams or 36.7 regular ounces. Victorian CASTER SET-2 Bottles w/Faceted Stoppers & Glass Paneled Salt & Pepper!
Here is a lovely antique caster set! Nothing is missing and the bottles with faceted glass tops are lovely! Also. The top halves of the bottles and the salt and pepper bottles are paneled glass. As you can see, the holder is long and slender, rather an unusual shape, as most are round. The holder is seven inches wide, and two inches deep. The middle circle is 6.5 inches tall. The bottom of the basket is marked"SILVER PLATE" All pieces of glass are perfect, with no chips or cracks, even the beautifully faceted decanter stoppers. The top of one of the shakers shows a little bit of wrinkling in the top. I will double wrap this purchase.

The tallest bottle measures about 10 3/4" tall including the stopper and has a satin finished? inside as shown. The smaller bottle is clear glass and measures about 9 1/8" tall including the stopper. Neither has any kind of marking. I am selling both together as a lot and won't be selling either separately. Both are in good condition. As shown. The largest bottle has an infraction, not exactly or chipped on the underside of the stopper, the glass is smooth-not chipped. Otherwise, the bottles themselves are not broken-just the expected few tiny microscopic fleabites on the stoppers as seen in the pictures. Smaller bottle stopper has a small chip on the underside nothing you'd really notice. See photos. You're getting both just as I did-any cleaning will be left to the buyer's discretion. Condition: The glass labels have some minor issues. The OLEAUM ROSMAR. label has a hairline crack, about 1" to right side, while the OLEUM CHENOPODIUM(WORMWOOD) has a small piece missing from bottom right. Probably made in England in the 19th century. The stoppers are all very similar- angular and multi-faceted with numerous cut faces; a couple are hexagonal. One octagonal, 5 are flat-topped, the tall pear-shaped one has circular'dots' cut around the globe at the top. Most are hollow with a'whirlpool' twist visible inside running down into the base. They are sparkling cut glass and generally have ground glass bases; one has a screw base. The pear-shaped stopper has 2 symbols etched onto the base- maybe ZA or 2 and a triangle? The taller one has a round pedestal base. The lower part of the cruet has a fancy checkerboard design. With a floral design above. It has a teardrop shaped stopper. The shorter cruet has a rounder form with a design of large daisies and a butterfly. The stopper is round. Both stoppers are beautifully faceted. Please scroll down to see our photographs. Pair of matching Wine Jugs. Early 1900's. Possibly earlier Glass jugs have a curved handle and spout. And have a"starburst" decoration on each side and an oval decoration around the necks. The stoppers have a faceted knob going down to the ground glass stopper itself. I cannot be 100% certain that these are the original stoppers but can only assume them to be so. As they fit perfectly into the neck of the jugs. This pair of jugs have been in my family since they were originally purchased or given(I don't know which) and were owned by my Grandparents(I am 67 years old) We have always believed that they were brought into our home some time between 1913 and 1920. Which was the period that my Grandmother's family owned a pub called the Cheddar Cheese in Reading in the UK. They came to me from my father in 2004. They are ... morein good condition commensurate with their age and have no cracks. Although one jug has a tiny'fleabite' chip on the side of the spout, which can hardly be seen by the naked eye. But which can be felt if you run your finger over it. Inside, the glass seems to have water marks but can probably be removed if you know how. I haven't attempted to clean them in any way) They measure 8" high without the stopper and 10 1/4 with the stopper. They are 5" wide across the"belly" of the jug. I have described these jugs to the best of my ability and think that they would make a nice addition for a collector of Victorian or early 20th century glassware. This listing is for THREE decanters with faceted stoppers from Val St. Lambert featuring beautiful Belgium crystal. Some of the clearest in the world. Each decanter is approximately 9 inches tall(they vary slightly in dimension) and 3 3/4 inches in diameter at the base. The stoppers are approximately 3 inches long, although they too vary somewhat from one another. All the decanters are signed Val St. Lambert on the base. These crystal pieces are in very good vintage condition with the following flaws. With respect to the stoppers. One stopper has two chips: a small ding on one of the facets and a larger chip on the base. With respect to the first decanter, there is a small ding on one side as well as some scratches above the ding and some scratches on the base. With respect to the second decanter, like the first it has some scratches on the ... morebottom. The second decanter also has a small area on its side that is somewhat cloudy. This is not dirt or scratches on the exterior. We were unable to ascertain whether it is a dirty spot on the interior or perhaps a flaw in the crystal.
