Signed Cartier 14K Gold 1900 Etched Crystal Perfume / Cologne Bottle by Gorham
This antique 14k yellow gold perfume/ cologne bottle was made by Gorham and designed/ signed by Cartier in 1900. It is part of a vanity set that now includes only the bottle and a shoe horn. The last image is of the shoe horn. Please see eBay item 360878200988 for details) The initials on the top are LCL for Linda Lee Colgate. Linda Lee Colgate was married to Henry Colgate of the toothpaste empire. Her aunt was Linda Lee Porter, married to Cole Porter. Linda Lee Colgate was my grandmother, so I can guarantee that this information in correct. The markings are around the rim of the gold top and are very hard to photograph, so I am including a picture of the markings on the shoe horn, which are almost identical. The bottle measures just under 6" high with the top on and has a 9.5" circumference at the widest point. The bottle alone is 4.5" high and the top is 4" long. The etched crystal bottle is in good condition with no cracks or chips. It does need to be cleaned as the inside has a ring from whatever liquid was inside it. I have NOT attempted to clean this. So I do not know if the ring can be cleaned. There are a few very minor signs of wear just below the lip of the bottle. The gold portion of the top is in excellent condition, though it needs to be cleaned. The stopper portion of the top, which is crystal, is in poor condition. The tip is broken off and there are several chips around the circumference of the crystal stopper. This is an Ormolu brass/gold plated and cut glass decanter bottle. It is 7" tall. The bottle has a sanded stopper. The bottle has a chip out of the corner. See photo. The brass/gold plated holder is in excellent condition. It is very ornate with cornucopias of grape vines and other designs. The four feet are smoothed and turned under. This will be shipped with tape over the corner of the break in the glass. The brass holder is 2.5" square. After some searching. A replacement bottle should be out there in cyber land. The piece has been priced accordingly. The brass gold plate has not been cleaned or polished. I leave that to the next owner. Vintage Blue Enamel Gold-Etched Perfume Bottle
This beautifully etched perfume bottle cover actually comes off the bottle. But fits it like a glove. Measures approx. 2" tall by 1.5" wide x.25" The blue enamel is etched with and delicate limb with a gorgeous gold and red bird with flowers at either end. It is trimmed in gold which could be 14 or 22K, there are no markings at all. The enamel is showing signs of age on the back side, but no breaks or missing enamel. I have not seen another of its type. A must for any collector!

Two beautiful etched glass perfume. Vanity bottles from an estate sale. The red is 9" high to top of stopper. The golden bottle is 7" high at top of stopper. Both etched and lovely& in beautiful condition. A tiny bit of gold is worn off on the gold bottle. I believe that photos show clearly how special these are.
