Stunning Antique English Cut Crystal & Sterling Silver Perfume Bottle / Flask
A wonderfully tactile scent flask. With it's deeply cut crystal in a series of star cuts within a diamond shaped lozenge. The glass is a beautiful Emerald green fading to clear at the bottom of the flask. The screw-top lid is decorated with repousse work crowned with a circular cartouche which could be engraved by your silversmith if you wished to personalize. The interior is cork filled to avoid evaporation of the precious contents. The silver is of course hallmarked for Birmingham 1899, Victorian in era. The makers initials CM are present for the silversmith, Charles May. Excellent condition, measuring 4 1/4" x 3" x 1" at widest. Antique Large Rounded English Cut Glass Sterling Silver Perfume Cologne Bottle This listing is for a gorgeous antique perfume/cologne bottle that is in excellent condition. It is a large rounded cut crystal bottle with a sterling silver hinged top and a glass stopper. The cut is beautiful and there is a 12 point star on the bottom. Please be sure to enlarge each picture for a better view as I don't think that I will be able to do this piece justice with my description. I tried to research the hallmark and will share what I found with you. If I'm wrong. You are more than welcome to return the bottle for a full refund as long as it is in the exact same condition as when I send it to you. The metal top is a raised floral pattern and has no dents. I did my best to clean it but am sure that the buyer will be able to do a much better job. ... moreAs for the hallmark, I am positive that there is a lion facing the left, a shield and another symbol on the end but I can't make it out. The shield looks like it has 3 identical shapes inside it and the rectangle next to the shield also has a shape inside. There is another mark before the lion and I think that is the maker's mark.possibly J.T. or J.J. My eyes aren't what they used to be and I even used a magnifier. I'm pretty sure that the ground glass stopper is the original one and it is in excellent condition and fits beautifully. The hinged top and collar have no dents. Cracks or repairs and the hinge works perfectly. It clicks when you close it. This lovely bottle measures approximately 4 1/2" tall and 11" in circumference. When held to the light, I noticed a couple of small spots on the bottom and one on a clear panel but think that they are manufacturer flaws.they do not have a rough feel at all but I did want to mention it. Large Victorian English Blue Glass & Sterling Silver Perfume Bottle - 1896
A beautiful and very stylish late nineteenth century scent bottle with a globe base and elegant lock neck. All beautifully cut. The glass is a stunning and highly sought-after blue colour graduating to clear at the base of the bottle. The screw-top lid is made from English sterling silver, hallmarked for Birmingham 1896, making this a true Victorian example. The makers mark is also present CM for the silversmith, Charles May. The top of the lid has a vacant circular cartouche which could be engraved by your silversmith if you wished to personalize it. The interior of the lid is cork-filled, to prevent evaporation of the precious contents. Excellent condition, measuring 8" tall x 3 3/4" max. Perfume scent bottle has four crosshatched pinwheel floral circles with a thumbprint center. The floral pinwheels are surrounded by cut eight and four point stars with the bottom having a cut starburst. The perfume bottle and stopper have no cracks. Glass has some surface use wear marks. There are small pinpoint dings to the edges of some of the cut crystal ridges. One of the central circles of the pinwheel flowers has a less than 1/8" chip on the circle's edge. The top monogrammed ... moresurface of the sterling lid is slightly dented with four pinpoint holes in the silver. Lid snaps shut. Cut crystal stopper has a bit of roughness to its top edge and minor use wear marks on the frosted stopper surface. Bottom of the bottle has a hand etched number 43. Antique English Double Ended Ruby Red Perfume Bottle - Victorian Sterling Silver
A really pretty and charming perfume or scent bottle in a fabulous rich ruby red colour. This is a slightly more unusual example of a Victorian double ended bottle. This one having a cylindrical form rather than the more often seen faceted type. The lids too are a little more unusual, again made from sterling(unmarked as most of these bottles were not) silver with a pretty floral embossed decoration. One end is hinged, with the little glass stopper intact and the other end is a screw-top with the cork to the inside of the lid to keep the liquid from evaporation. Sterling silver and enamel perfume or cologne bottle. This piece dates to 1800. The lid features beautiful pink guilloche enamel, translucent with the fine machine turned designs visible underneath. The lid and collar of the bottle are sterling silver. The bottle itself is glass, decorated with vertical cuts and a band of foliate designs. The lid flips up to reveal a little glass stopper, to apply the cologne or perfume. The bottle is in great condition. The enamel has a very minor flake to one edge. Visible at about the 6 o'clock position in the fourth photo. The stopper is in great shape and fits well. The glass has no chips, no cracks, no breaks, ... moreand no repairs. This piece is hallmarked on the side of the collar with the lion passant for sterling silver. The anchor for the city of Birmingham, the date letter C for 1800, and a maker's mark which is unfortunately partially worn. The lid is also stamped with the lion passant and date letter. The end with the hinged top was actually for smelling salts. The other end with the stopper was for the perfume. The hinged cap is tight and works perfectly. It is initialed at the top. It has English hallmarks. One being the lion for Sterling. The two middle ones I can not make out. The end mark looks like the Queen. It also has makers initials JH. There are marking inside the lid but they are too small for me to see. The embossed end is screwed on. It does have one dent you can see in the photo. It also looks to have some kind of very light 1/2" seam line. Very unimportant and I almost didn't mention it because I only noticed it with magnification. The bottle still has the original ... moreglass stopper. The green faceted glass itself is in excellent condition. There are no real stretches or chips to the outside of the bottle. There are a few little chips to the inner rim of the cap side. The silver could use a little more polishing. Please check the photos carefully for all conditions and ask any questions.

I am placing up for bid a lovely antique English hallmarked smelling salts perfume bottle. The sterling is hallmarked but somewhat worn. Making it hard to be able to tell the makers name, next to manufacturer is a small e for the date, then a full figure lion, and then the lion face( London and sterling mark)The glass appears to be cut glass without any pattern. I can't remove the stopper. The top of the stopper has a ridge in the glass, possibly to hold a cord? It is a Victorian era piece and from a local estate where the previous owner was from Quebec. Antique perfume bottle Sterling silver overlay, English or US-made, ca 1905
This is an elegant antique Sterling Silver Overlay Perfume Bottle(1905 est. In my opinion it was made in America or England. It has number"35" etched on the bottom of the bottle and stopper. Meaning the stopper and bottle are a perfect match. Importantly, the delicate construction process of mating silver to glass resulted in no glass cracks. The stopper matches the scroll design, and the bottle has a thin, delicate, fancy script monogram of the word"Alice. Sterling" is clearly seen at the bottom rim. The glass and stopper are in mint condition. This piece likely held very expensive perfume. It is beautiful. Highly-desirable, functional art. Dimensions: 4" Tall(including stopper) and 2.25" at the widest diameter. These bottles often sell for $500 USD or more.

English perfume bottle with sterling silver top and hand cut crystal glass base. 4" tall and 2" max tapering up diameter. Chased silver top has flowers. Leaves and vine design. Small evidence of wear and use and not recently polished, Stopper is missing, otherwise is in very good condition. English Assay Hall marks are: C.M. in rectangle: Maker name not found) Anchor for Birmingham, Date letter: p' in lozenge shape for date(1864) and Lion passant- rampant for English sterling silver mark. Silver weight not determinable. The crystal glass base is hand cut all over with small octagonal'hobnails' and star forms. Under the base is a hand cut star burst. NB: Small chip on edge of base. NB: Old perfume aroma can still be detected.

English'smelling salts' purse' bottle. With sterling silver top and hand cut crystal glass base. No stopper. No monogram.Approximately 3 1/2" tall and 1 1/8" in diameter. Assay Hall punch marks are: J.H.W-possibly: John Henry Wynn. Lower case: f' for date letter: 1905. Anchor for Birmingham Assay Hall and lion rampant-passant for sterling silver. Silver content not determined. Silver top is hand-chased with curlicues and what appears to be a'whimsical' animal with tail. Below on sides are swirls in asymmetrical art nouveau design form. Base is crystal glass, hand cut all over with octagonal'hobnails' and star and X patterns. Ground off flat on underside. Silver not recently polished. Good condition for age and use.
