It appears to be on the inside of the glass. There is a tiny rough spot on the bottom edge. It does not affect the structure of the piece. The decanter stands just under 9" tall and just under 5" at it's widest.

This bottle is exceptional: It is split down the middle with a glass division. Allowing for two compartments. One compartment is topped by a spring-loaded cap: push the button and the repousse sterling cap"pops" open. Both the mechanism& seal are tight. The second compartment is a screw top. Threads are firm and complete. Allowing for a tight seal. Interior of"pop top" is marked"Gilbert& Sons London" very hard to read and impossible to get on camera. But it is there and viewed/read with loop. Caps have tested positive for.925 Silver. There is a microscopic chip and a tiny surface abrasion on one of the raised edges as shown in photos. You are looking at an antique Blown ruby colored glass perfume with gold painted décor. The bottle shows some gold ware but is in near perfect condition otherwise. The décor is flowers and butterfly. Beautiful. Rare and elegant, with faceted glass and ornate repousse silver hinged flip top lid. Glass is hand-blown and a rich ruby red found in decorative glass pieces of the Victorian era. These bottles first appeared in the late 1700's, but it wasn't until the mid-1800's that they were in general use. Their popularity waned during the late 1800's, but they continued to be made until the turn of the century. This item is in excellent condition, the silver carved hinge lid in perfect working order, with only a slight unevenness to the silver caused by opening and closing the lid and a slight patina to the silver. The faceted glass has a few nicks, but overall, it is in perfect shape. The bottle may have been worn around a lady's neck, as was the style of the age. Generally, a customer purchased the perfume bottle empty ... moreand had it filled by a chemist or perfumier, as ready-filled bottles of perfume were not yet on the market. This one contains a remnant of the owners' original perfume content, now a dried out solid. Excellent, low price for high value, rare piece- check out similar items being sold on the web. Up for your consideration is this fabulous. Beautiful,rare, 19th century, probably French red glass perfume bottle. Made of thick ruby red glass, the bottle is mounted inside elaborate bronze base and bottle neck with handles. Bronze have beautiful relief of vine leafs and grapes all around the bottle neck and on the bottom plate with bronze cut in shape of grape leafs. The stopper is tall, 6 panels cut,with frosted dauber which is marked on the bottom in red with number 93. The perfume bottle is in mint condition for it's age, there are 2 imperfections on glass,one near the neck,tiny cut in hot glass and pin head burst air bubble near the bottom. Antique English Double Ended Ruby Red Perfume Bottle - Victorian Sterling Silver
A really pretty and charming perfume or scent bottle in a fabulous rich ruby red colour. This is a slightly more unusual example of a Victorian double ended bottle. This one having a cylindrical form rather than the more often seen faceted type. The lids too are a little more unusual, again made from sterling(unmarked as most of these bottles were not) silver with a pretty floral embossed decoration. One end is hinged, with the little glass stopper intact and the other end is a screw-top with the cork to the inside of the lid to keep the liquid from evaporation. Beautiful antique English ruby red antique perfume bottle. This bottle does have some surface wear. Stands 3.5" tall. Has tiny glass stopper but I don't believe it to be original to the piece. It jiggle's a little. Silver embossed snaps shut tightly. Antique / Vintage RUBY RED GLASS CUT TO CLEAR Perfume Bottle Atomizer BEAUTIFUL
Item Description While starting bids may vary I ALWAYS POST WITH NO RESERVE! Up for auction is a beautiful Ruby Red glass Perfume Bottle cut back to clear. The ruby coloring is not"flashed" ~ this is true ruby glass. The cut design is very intricate and so delicate in some areas. The glass is heavy and it just has the feel of a quality glass piece. The internal glass syphon tube is intact. The gold tone metal collar and atomizer so have tiny scratches. And could use a bit of polishing, but everything is very secure. The bottom has a lovely cut star on it and there are light surface scratches on the bottom from being move around on surfaces. I have added a new black bulb& cord for you. When I squeeze the bulb I do feel strong puffs of air come out. I only found one teeny nibble to an edge and I tried to photograph but was too ... moresmall and just blended in with the cut design. No other chips, cracks or repairs noted. It is 6 5/8 inches tall to the top of the atomizer and the base is 2 1/8 inches in diameter. 7" Antique vtg Bohemian Ruby Glass Victorian PERFUME BOTTLE Red Cut-to-Clear
Antique Victorian Perfume Bottle Hand Blown Cut-to-Clear Ruby Glass 7" Tall x 2-7/8" Diameter base. Excellent condition with normal signs of age and original flaws in the glass which was blown. Cut and polished by hand. There is a little ding on the inside of the spout, but not chipped. Normal scratch pattern on base helps show the age. The stopper fits perfectly and we assume it is original. Circa late 19th century. SHIPPING NOTES: Your Package has Tracking and Insurance-Always. Save all Packaging.
