There are 3 very nice ANTIQUE very rare unusual rugs listed this week. they are of a good size and very nice to look at. Check out my! This is a wonderful rug with great color including various blues and pinks and some green and cinnamons. great symbols too including animals and just terrific geometric figural characters. there is one split as shown about 8" long and some pile wear. please consider pictures for condition

Miss the old version of this page? everything on one long page. ltpte. Pure fabric-lover's-delight. This crisply pieced 13-patch scrapbag quilt top is loaded with exquisite double-pink and brown calico scraps arranged in beautiful, neat, sharp blocks. The massive variety of double-pink printed motifs alone make this a very appealing holding for any student of early prints. An occasional bit of early mauve/purple turning towards tan just adds even more richness. I would date this top to around the 1880's. It has a curious little extra, too: nearly hidden on a block near the center, the tiniest little strip of paper is tacked to the top. This seems to hold a long name written pencil but is very nearly illegible. Perhaps the maker had fleeting thoughts of making this a friendship quilt with various signatures? Size The quilt top measures ... moreabout 83 x 91 inches. The blocks are about 9inches square and the individual patches about 2 inches square. Construction The blocks are neatly hand-pieced and then set together with the sashing by machine. Condition The quilt top's condition is excellent: strong. Sturdy, crisp and clean. It looks too me too crisp to have ever been washed. Out of 56 blocks, I count about 13 with some instance of brown staining or spotting, plus a few very well hidden brown stains here and there in the sashing. Antique vintage unfinished HANDSTITCHED 30's feedsack quilt top pieces - pinks
This auction is for a set of antique/vintage HAND STITCHED 1930's era quilt blocks/pieces. They are very nicely worked. Running approximately 7 to 9 stitches per inch. The points are crisp and the blocks lay flat! Some of the pieces appear to be feed sack fabric and most are small print calico. Predominently pinks and pastel greens. There are 3 strips that are approximately: 79" long x 11 1/2" wide. And a partial strip that is approximately: 40" long x 11 1/2" wide. I think that if the pieces were re-arranged a little bit that there would be enough pieces and fabrics to make a crib quilt or lap quilt. The fabric all looks crisp and unused; like it was scraps from other projects. rather than cut from used garments. Issues: aside from the obvious- it is not complete; I note 2 very small(1/4" light color stains. ... moreThey may come out if laundered. An antique printed paisley shawl in mainly pinks and greens with a plain cream centre. Measuring approx 63 inches square The condition is good with very slight darkening to the cream area. And two small pin pricks seen on pic 5. on pic 1 you can see there is an area without fringe it does not seem to have come out, it doesn't seem to have ever been there. The reverse is shown on pic 5 I am happy to combine multiple buys bought within 7 days and so reduce the postage costs. If the weight exceeds 2kgms this would not be possible so please check first. Block printed and roller printed using the most wonderful red and pink! ~ Very bold floral and stripe! LOVELY, also very large for these textiles! ~*~ ~ ~The opposite side is a GORGEOUS khaki ground printed cotton with fabulous printed floral design! Lovely reds, pinks, white ~ also roller printed and printed using hand carved wooden blocks ~ a GORGEOUS textile. Early antique 1880's vintage quilt top appears to be treadle sewn.70" x 70" approx. center section is approx 24" square and then the quilter used a series of alternating double pink and muslin borders to create this effect. This is in excellent condition for its age as it was never washed or made into a comforter or quilt.just folded up and put away.just a couple of age marks that I have taken pictures of it would be wonderful finished and hand quilted.I love vintage and antique textiles.all fabric in general I guess I would say! Antique cotton fabric material Cheater Cloth Brown and pinks
Nice piece of antique cotton cheater cloth fabric rescued from the back of an old tied quilt. An intricate patchwork design in browns. Creams, deep pink to light pink. The fabric is from the 1880's or earlier. It is a medium weight cotton(nothing to do with upholstery weight fabric) I would estimate 95% usuable. In great condition, it has a few holes and one end is ragged. I've tugged in both directions and there is no splitting. Measures 26" wide, selvedge to selvedge by 30" long. I try to find any defects but I can't guarentee I'll see them all. No returns unless item is not as described. This is an older piece and is no longer perfect as the day it was made. Antique 1920's iridescent pinks, greens, blues papillon vase
Well here goes- I'm not a glass expert. But I do know quality. This vase measures 12" tall x 3.75 width opening, with 5.5 at the widest point, tapering to the base which measures 4" It is perfect, no nicks, chips, stains etc. My friend Gary found it at a high-end estate, the colors are spectacular. I cannot be sure what brand it is as I do not see any identification marks. However. The pontil is smooth and very concaved. It screams 1920's and can be yours. The sheen on these spools made it difficult to capture true colors. Very lovely 1920s French Silk Floss spools out of Lyon in the Rhone-Alps region of France. These large spools measure 4 inches tall. These are partial spools with lots of floss/thread left on them. Tender floss. Best with hand work embroidery projects. Unusual Antique 19th Century Crib Quilt Pinks Blues Shirting Calico Pastels
This antique baby or lap quilt is made of a wonderful selection of calico and shirting fabrics in such soft. Pretty colors! I'm not a textile expert, but these all look to be at least pre-1900, and I think several decades earlier( Most of the quilts I see from the mid-19th century are in darker colors, so this may be an unusual example of an older quilt. It's very well made and the quilter had a great color sense. Although this is almost square I'm assuming that it was meant as a crib quilt because of the mostly pastel colors chosen. It measures approximately 27&3/4" x 27&1/4" and has just a couple of small holes on the front as shown in closeup. And four scattered small holes on the muslin back. A lovely little vintage handmade Welsh quilt. One side is a patterned fabric in reds. Pinks, cream and greens and the other is made up in three pieces of pale greens. The quilt is of traditional construction with fabrics stitched either side of a blanket filling and l ovely detailed hand stitched patterning The overall condition is good and clean. There is quite a lot of wear around the edges where the inner blanket shows through and the edges are quite'rippled' I have tried to show this in the pictures. Beautiuful piece of antique fabric.double pinks. Has tiny dark pink flowers and leaves on a lighter pink ground. The centers look white to me. The piece is cut uneven so I will give two measurements. 23.5 inches wide selvage to selvage and is about 5.75 inches long.measured from the narrow end. The piece hanging down is measured as shown in the 4th picture. 10.5 inches by about 5.5 inches. The fabric has good color and I did not see any flaws. Never washed. Original sizing, excellent new/old unused condition.

Antique 19th C French Toile Fabric. Birds & Berries. Gorgeous Pinks and Greys.
A stunning morceau of antique French toile fabric dating to the mid to late 1800s. In a fabulous stripe design of birds and berries. Urns and fruit, it has a beautifully simple colour palette of deep raspberry, light rose pink and a faded blue grey… a wonderful example of a historic French textile. This panel measures 81cm(32” wide. selvedge to selvedge and 106cm(42” long and is in lovely antique condition… with only a little foxing and a couple of pin holes in the fabric which can be seen when held up to the light… and threads down the selvedges from the unpicked hand stitching. It is one of just a few pieces I have managed to rescue from a sadly damaged bed hanging… although because it was a bed hanging with little exposure to light it has retained its glorious pinks and greys and there is no yellowing to the fabric. I am not an expert but purchased this at an upscale estate sale.The house and contents were very expensive.What interested me on this piece was the fabulous combinations of colors not sure I have seen any like it.I show plenty of photos including the underside there is no doubt as to its being handmade and it looks to be quite old showing some wear normal for its age.One end seems to have the fringe cut check out the photos.If any experts out there can shed more light on this I would appreciate it.The rug measures approx: 44 inches x 64 inches.PS I have another rug from the same estate larger and also quite unique with black& reds.

Description: Nice old log cabin quilt with lots of pink and blue fabrics. The back is done in a floral fabric. It is hand quilted at 8-9 SPI and measures 70 X 66-1/2. Has a nice soft look and feel to it. Condition: There are a few of the same fabrics in the center that all have some toning or browning to them. All the fabrics appear to have fading. In photos 8 and 9 it appears that the dark fabrics shown are replacements. The sewing is not like the other squares where the stitching doesn't show. It may be that these were added to restore some shattered pieces underneath. There are some fabric tears. Spots and seam separations. These are the nicest I have found in a long time, also there stems aren't plastic they are like wires with almost felt like leaves. They do not disappoint. They are in good shape there might be a minor flea bit here or there but really good condition for their age.
