A couple small chips on the upper rim and a horizontal crack across the length of one side, 6-5/8" high. 3) Embossed with"LAXOL" and"A.J. Description Welcome to my Auction. For a superb Antique Victorian- Solid silver& deep cobalt blue glass. Miniature scent/ perfume bottle. With a corked screw top so no need for a stopper. Circa 1880 In wonderful condition. Not hallmarked as was so typical with these Antique Victorian scent bottles. The beautiful flat tubular glass is in lovely condition. The blue bottle is the most wonderful colour being the deepest of the cobalt shades with a hint of purple. With no chips or nibbles. The solid silver screw on lid has heavy repousse silver work of flowers& leaves. Absolutely stunning. I can feel a slight indentation to the lid where the tip of my finger rests when unscrewing the lid. This is very hard to see due to the ornate decoration to the lid. I mention for total accuracy. The scent bottle Measures approx- 6.8cms or 2.6 inches ... morein height. Weighs- 23.4 grams. A beautiful miniature scent bottle which has clearly been treasured& looked after as its wonderful condition shows. This tiny scent bottle is a truly beautiful cobalt blue color in very good condition! It has nicks on the top and a very few tiny nicks to the cut glass edges. Please look at all photo's closely. Overall. It's in really great shape. I believe this scent bottle must be at least 100 years old and probably older. I would not be at all surprised if it were made in the late 1800's but it is NOT marked. The glass is hand cut and the lines are imperfect. The sterling top is in excellent condition with no dents, dings or splits. The cork inside is intact and whole. I can still smell a hint of whatever perfume used to be kept in it. Antique WHITE GLASS CUT BACK TO COBALT BLUE Perfume Scent Bottle HAND PAINTED
Item Description While starting bids may vary I ALWAYS POST WITH NO RESERVE! Up for auction is a unique Perfume Scent Bottle. It has cobalt blue glass on the interior with clear glass around that and then white glass on the exterior. The white glass has then been cut back to reveal the blue glass interior. Such a pretty glass effect and you can see it best from the bottom or when you hold it up to light. I have seen this done with items made in France and Czechoslovakia. This little bottle appears to be c. late 1800’s to early 1900’s. The screw on lid is silver tone metal but it is not sterling. The threading has been dented a little over the years so the lid screws on but is a loose fit. There is still a lot of the gold painted detail left but it is thinning in a few areas. I think there may have been some colored. Floral paintings on the ... morewhite glass that have worn down with age. You can just barely make out the faded outlines. No chips. Cracks or repairs but I do see a couple microscopic nibbles to the bottom edge. They are super tiny but you might be able to see them in the photos of the bottom as they are not seen when the bottle standing up for display. It looks like the letter"C" painted on the bottom but I don't know the significance of this. Maybe it's just the owners initial( The bottle with lid in place is 3 7/8 inches tall and 1 ½ inches across at the widest part which is the shoulder area just below the cap. A Cobalt blue doubled ended silver ends This fab antique bottle features cobalt blue glass with 10 cut panels/sides The metal is not marked by any maker nor the glass. The bottle has 10 cut sides and beveled shoulders. CONDITION: very good! I note: no stoppers. long gone. their is a cork in the top of the one that screws off. The glass is good but I note that there is smelling salts in one side of that bottle. Best seen in picture# 22. That is the side that the top screws off with the cork inside the lid. Clean healthy glass. No residue- other than what is mentioned on the one side. The hinge works good and while checking to see if any wobble I just noticed that one side is come apart. not really wobbley just ... morea smidge. it works fine and stay shut does not affect it. The hardware is silver and not marked. the inside of the one end looks to be a bit gold perhaps gold wash. I note: small dings on the silver end of the screw top I note: 3 dings some tiny dark spots and nicks on the hinged top. Listed here is a Sampson Mordan& Co London ~ Cobalt Blue glass double ended scent bottle. Circa from the late 1800's and s tamped- S. Mordan Co London" along the capped rim. The cap with the hinged end still works perfectly and closes tight. The original glass stopper is still inside and in great condition. It looks like it has scratches but they are just bubbles in the glass. The other end appears to have had the cap permanently glued on(look closely at the photos) Both capped ends have many dings and show wear to the finish and are both plain with no decorative engravings. There is a pin head size ding to one of the ten sides but all the rest are good. Thank you for looking! As photographed above, this beautiful and unique piece displays exceptional quality and craftsmanship, with the cobalt glass cylinder executed in sharp and precise panels with"beveled" edges. Yes, glass is wonderfully clean and catches/refracts the light amazingly well. While one of the hinged caps remains"stuck" the other does"open" ... morewith this end featuring its original and small glass stopper. Yes, I do believe this bottle is"English" in terms of provenance, but I'm not 100% certain as I was unable to locate hallmarks. Measurements: Cylindrical"lay-down" perfume is 5" in total length when measuring"end-to-end" And is 1" at widest diameter. Condition: Good" to"Very Good" This"scarcer" laydown perfume present VERY well. Displaying several"nibbles" and three"filed chips" Almost appearing as"shaved chips" upon CLOSE to the cobalt panels of the bottle visible upon CLOSE inspection ONLY. ANTIQUE COBALT BLUE LAYDOWN SCENT/PERFUME BOTTLE
Beautiful double ended. Laydown Antique Victorian scent bottle of cobalt blue glass with sterling silver engraved metal end caps. The bottle is divided at the midpoint to form two separate scent vials. One end has a cap that opens with a button and hinge, while the other has a screw cap of similar appearance. No internal stopper. Size: 5" length and is in very good antique condition with only a slight dent on one of the caps. One end is stamped 1912 the opposite end is monogrammed AEG. Check out my! A late 18th or early 19th century deep cobalt blue glass lay down scent bottle with a plain silver(tested) mount and chained silver stopper. The stopper is made as a hollow cone. Each side of the octagon body is engraved with a stylized flower. Unknown origin. The bottom is chipped. Otherwise the condition is very good.
